Micropositioning, show your awesome spots! Now compiled!

I've grown to like this Tundra spot. If you're on south spawn in something reasonably quick and don't feel like going to the hill, you can get easy early shots here. You might even get shots on arty.

Look out for things that yolo into close range, especially 183s and such. Don't hang around for too long, especially if they end up taking hill. That JPII backed off, allowing me to get a shot on arty.

I also found this Overlord bush that you can fire through at people poking from behind the little pillboxes without getting spotted, but I think you need someone else to spot the guys there for you.

@ThePowerOfLove, the problem with that is that you're incredibly exposed, anything could come yolo you and honestly the risk is too high for me, i for one have found the middle to be playable from time to time (especially since my client crashes during map loads and i can't get up the hill)

There's actually a bush just to your left (right side of the buildings, top of the hill just along the fence) that you can use for a bit of extra camo. If spotted you can pull back into the buildings or drop down to where you are for cover.

Your overlord spot is where I'll often go off the start, assuming the team has enough going to the other deployments.  You can often get some good shots of people going to the beach from there or pointing at the hill to your left instead of at you.  I also find that people seem to have a tendency to go down one more level to your right or to the hill on your left, completely ignoring that corner until you begin hurting them.  That being said, as soon as you get spotted around that hill you're open to arty and their base campers, so don't hang around.  It's usually good for a couple of early shots at least though.  And every now and then it can give you a wonderful avenue to flank from, if you're careful.

Swamp.

I get here in my E25 sometimes, can be done in other tanks too ofc, tricky but doable. Doesn't always pay off though.

How do you get up there on swamp? I think you'll be out of the fight for a long time, but I'm curious since I've seen players use it on NA.

Bump - any thoughts on 9,.8 updated maps?

  • Westfield scout bush K7 for south medium/light spawn?
  • Siegfried Line - light/med hillock bush just south of gate on K5? Only for Tier 7 and less

Another bump.

I really love this spot on Redshire. You can flex around those bushes to spot the north ridge, village below, heavy lemming rain in the east, and rain pain onto enemy if they push west.

You can be spotting or go dark, you can hull down or pull horizontal still in cover.

Fantastic sniper spot. Just be careful of arty, but they usually ignore me in this spot.

why didn't you just post the picture instead of the picture link? if you don't where it is anymore it's in the bottom right corner at "insert other media"

also spot is situational, i prefer to be on the actual ridge instead fighting their stuff on the hill in a direct engagement to get things going right away, but i don't play light tanks so i guess this works but in meds there's better things to do imo

I tried three times to use the "Insert other media" button, but it would churn/process the imgur without resolution for ages so I finally gave up.

You say you prefer to be on the actual ridge - can you please post pic for how to do that from south side. North is easy, but south is hard - keep getting nuked. Is there some hollow or mini-ridge I am missing?

Running the sea route from the south spawn on Airfield has given me some pretty strange results... with some tanks behind to wreck the TD's up the hill it's not bad but... sometimes these guys don't put up TD's there and you can actually climb up (thanks Aficionado). It's not great but when not top tier / not suited for hilly runway fights... why not.

Which is south spawn?  They're both equal one is east and one is west.  I think that you are talking about the east spawn, that now has a ramp up into the back of the enemy base.

IMO that falls into the "just because it works doesn't mean it's a good idea" category, because it's easy to get trapped or overextended.  Even if you push with a fair number of tanks, the advantage is still with the defender to trap you and whittle you down.  You don't want to get in an isolated position, and generally you want to have a path to fall back of your support dies or if you meet strong resistance.  If you make that push you're pretty much trapped there - a couple tanks in the middle can block your retreat, and it's not hard to block your forward progress or at least make you trade poorly.

*sigh* duh me. Yes you are right.

First time I did this, I hung back until everything was lit up and then made my move. Second time I went full retard and paid the price.

May have been noted already, I haven't kept up with the thread.

You can fire unspotted on targets climbing the hill down to 250m from this spot in a Lorraine, maybe less. (I was firing on the T57 in essesntially the position he's marked as last known on the map.)

Man, this post should serve as your application to CHAI :) You are the king of red line sniping.

But seriously, thanks for sharing. I really think 99% of the players wouldn't even consider trying it out on their own.

I have to admit, it's a good spot:dank:

You can get full batchat clip unnoticed from that location as a early free dmg. I think it was mentioned already either here or somewhere else. Without explanatory screenshot though so have a +1

nice find,

there used to be a similar spot in that location before they changed the map that had a nice ridgeline. looks like they replaced it with trees (haven't been up there in a while :-) )

Am I the only person who was amazed to find out that there are secret paths into the Abbey on the Abbey map?  I've played this map hundreds of times and I've never noticed this until this Jingles video the other day.
