Quick Questions/Quick Answers

Recommended Posts

If you have a question about core mechanics that doesn't justify its own thread, ask and ye shall receive. Keep the questions short and the answers shorter.

This is a community thread, anyone can answer just as anyone can ask.

Is there a limit to what type of content?

No, just keep it about tanks. This is core skills/mechanics for a reason.

A community Q/A thread on core skills and mechanics simple questions is a good idea and worth pinning, but I highly recommend you change the wording of the OP and title to make it clear that it's for CSaM questions.

+1 for efforts to reduce clutter.

When firing at long distances the aiming circle shows shell drop that gets corrected calculated when aiming at a tank that is spotted. If you wanted to blind fire this location, would you aim above to have the shell hit the intended area?

Do you know if the game physics accounts for the ballistics of shooting uphill or downhill/

irl shooing uphill or downhill causes you to hit high /// ie if you are on a hill shooting up or down hill gravity only affects the horizontal distance, but your actual LOS is greater than the horizontal distance eg Pythagoran Theory

The reason I ask is that the reticle seems to get quirky when aiming at a partial target obscured by the crest of a hill and shot tend to go high (confirmation bias?)

+@wulff

For flat/low elevation to high/high to low.

Found that with AP/APCR rounds, you can blind fire in the same location.

With Heat/HE/(HESH?) providing slow velocity and a mini arc:

cresting hill

when aiming up, aim a bit lower.

What is the best tank for me to learn how to farm damage well in? The SU-122-44 is starting to fall out of my graces because, well, Russian gun handling on a sniper platform isn't exactly conducive to keeping my calm (read: I rage at the wtf misses).

Could you lend me the credits for the IS-7 if I were to, I don't know, give some favors, like being a meat-shield/expendable spotter for you to farm damage easily? It appeared to work well for Kewei; I would spot a target in my 1390, he would kill it in his WT Pz. IV, and we ran something like 20-2 in wins to losses. I feel that I need to get it to improve, as I currently lack any 10s, and would like to get to implementing Kewei's theories into my own gameplay. Please?

Oh, and lube or no lube?

Oh, and lube or no lube?

One does not simply farm damage and win.

Start playing t5 mediums, practice flexing, prioritizing targets, pub meta, and important objectives, the damage will follow.

homemade lube Ftw.

Just stick with whatever tanks you're most comfortable with. Damage and wins come easy when you're having fun. Since it sounds like you like gun handling, you might want to give the US heavy's a try.
