Many people upgrade their PC and peripheral experience, do you believe in investing in the writing experience?

I would definitely recommend this site  for getting your pens.

Living in Germany, I am near the Staedler factory and so I use their felt tipped inkers for all my writing needs

I used to have a fountain pen, got it from dad's stuff when rummaging around, it was very comfortable and didn't spill any ink at all, then I dropped it and it breaks, and so does my heart at that very moment.

Love the Staedler felt tipped. Been using those since highschool ;o)

I also adore the good ole Pentel Forte mechanical pencil. A friend turned me on to them ages ago and I haven't bought another type since. Most of mine are so old that the chrome is completely worn off along with any lettering. I have a Waterman fountain pen that was given to me by my grandfather but I don't really use it.

I prefer the Pilot Hi-Tecpoint 0.5 v5 grip, black of course.

It's like 10 dollars in Norway, but I have to get it anyway, those standard cheap pens are just annoying. Too thin grip and terrible ink, I like thick pens with ink coming out easily. (I see what happened there, let it go.) This pen is pretty good for everything I want. I have to buy it with my own money for work because our supplier don't have those kind of pens in 1-pack. And buying 50-100-1000 of them will be a smidge expensive, as they are not much cheaper in a big pack. I'm gonna start buying off Ebay since I pay myself anyway, I can get like six there for the price of one here.

I carry around a Pilot G-2 mini.  I keep it in my pocket all the time.  I use this particular pen because the barrel of the pen is short enough that when I put it in my front pants pocket the button doesn't get pressed accidentally causing my pants to have ink all over them.  It writes smooth and they last a long time.

I also have a Zebra mini-pen, but it's a regular ball point instead of a rollerball and I don't really care for how it writes.

My penmanship is fucking atrocious.

I can't get behind hand writing. I was never any good at it, and have written almost nothing by hand since leaving high school. I have an excellent memory and never took notes on anything before laptops became ubiquitous. I nearly failed my graduate school comps because we had to write everything by hand, 6+ hours of writing. I practiced for weeks to even be able to scrawl semi legible answers.

As such, I take no ownership of pens, pencils, styluses or quills. They are all disposable to me and I rarely even carry one to meetings. Fuck writing by hand.

(for me personally. for everyone else, its lovely to see your excellent penmanship and ability to write by hand. handwritten stuff is so nicely personal, and handwritten manuscripts are tremendously beautiful.)
