What is your thought process while playing?

Recommended Posts

What is your thought process when playing? Usually when i play, I do not think. Ive derped my way to 2k recents, and im suck here. I feel like i have to start thinking when im playing if i want to get better. When are you supposed to be passive/aggressive? How do you read the map correctly and respond to it?

Thanks

Two things I think about while playing.

1. How do i avoid arty, yeah i know they tell you to play as if it is not there for awesome damages but i get scared

2. Where are most of the enemy at and from what angles can I engage them form either a safe range (meaning they are unable to spot me) or from a hull down -cover area.

The reason for this is to do the most you can you need to be firing as much as you can

2.5 Elaborating on the cover thing. I think about peeking. I will peek out and snap something but I need to know that they either have a bad shot at me and need about 1 sec to aim at me[meaning they are looking at something else when I will poke them], or they are not even paying attention to my presence.

Good luck, reaper

Analyse teams, play tictactoe with myself where I go

try to get into 1v1 t0 fuck smby up

hold my team together as they are unable to breathe on their own

win or afk for a few min to not randomly kill smby

usually watching streams, movie, tonkpr0n

blaming my 1^1cm mousepad for shit aimkillz

thats usually the stuff I think about/do every game, most of the time there is also smby around in my flat I yell at cuz they try to be as loud as possible doing nothing.

Every now and then:

- What do I have to do to win or at least deal a ton of damage?

More often:

- How can I engage those enemies efficiently?

- Can they shoot me back?

- Do I have an exit strategy?

Most often:

- Where is my coffee cup again? Oh yeah, there it is. Noice!

As little as possible, because otherwise i would start paying attention to the ``not so smart teammates``, which would make me mad very fast (and dmg my brain and burn my eyes)

so for my own sanity, turn off brain and play like your watching tv :P

Here are my mantras:

Where can I be most effective based on where everyone else is going? (Initially, it is usually most effective to conduct the leming train, than go to your usual spot. Then react based on what happens.)

Don't take damage. (If you are lit, take cover. It is almost never a good idea to "just" get a shot off. Your hit points are everything.)

Don't poke. Make the red guy poke into you.

In any game (Warships has honed this thought process pretty hard because of the slow pace of the game) my strategic thinking goes:

1. Am I in the most important location where I can affect the battle?

2. Am I in a fight that I can win?

3. Can I leave this fight safely if I commit?

If the answer to any of those is no the question be comes "Where is the map location that fills all those objectives and how do I get there?"

Iterate until the game ends. Of course, there are occasions where if only two of those are true I'll stay around but that's a matter of experience. It's almost never a good idea to stay around if only one of those is true.
