I see that your max experience driving the ELC is 1,347, almost half of mine.Nice job overall tanking, hat tip, but as you have found out, the ELC can be difficult to master. I have lost track of how many Ace mastery badges I've earned in mine. I see that you have yet to do so in the ELC. Edited July 6, 2015 by oddbal1

Good to hear from you again. I'll refrain from saying anything negative here and stick to the 12th commandment, "Thou shalt never speak ill of a clan member" (current or former).I see that you have moved on from that crazy multiple thousands of games per month that started when you joined PUPEH last summer. It was amazing how your stats shot through the roof during those few months.Well done.Oddbal1 What does no sound have to do with anything? I don't understand. Hi Okeano,Love your "where not to go" map advice. Thanks for your's and Rexxie's effort on that.On a lark, I wondered if playing w/o sound would positively impact at least my play (admittedly a low bar, but...) after reading Kewei's post regarding being legally deaf. Clearly he has had a lifetime to hone other senses. But since I turned of the in-game music about a year or so ago and noticed a difference that that had on my nervous distraction, I wondered if playing w/o sound would force me to use other visual cues more often (like the minimap) and the more recent in battle badges that pop up.Kewei even commented on the earlier thread (now since closed) that the game is more visual now than ever.Playing w/o sound did have a positive impact on me, but I've only done it around 80 games or so now. But playing with sound effects does make the game more enjoyable. The other question I had is if playing w/o sound would impact a unicum. My guess is that it might degrade their performance in that they already do what I started doing when I played without sound and that they also leverage the audible cues.Oddbal1
Okeano 2,174 Share Posted July 6, 2015 Hmm. I also have the in game music off, but I have the sound on. What kind of positive effects are you seeing? I guess some of the more valuable audio cues are things like arty shell landing near by so that I know I'm safe for a while but also being targeted, tank next/behind me getting shot at, tanks being spotted on the map, and etc that gives me more useful info. That and I have to watch for the Sela cat when I am spotted. I like the badges when I am playing w/o sound in that I know that I am the one doing the spotting and assisting in damage. I guess its a pat on the back you are spotting well my son kind-of thing. The biggest thing for me w/o sound is if an arty shell lands nearby, the sound causes me to go full tilt. That and when I am hit, I don't care about the explosion sound, I just note my hp pool and the hp pool difference and then observe the situation and then decide whether to trade, push, or hide/re-position. But it is more calm for me since I don't go full tilt.Back in the day when I had music on, I found my heart racing more (not safe at my age) and it influencing me on my decisions. For me at least, it is better to play calm and more dispassionately.Just a jumpy scrub perspective.P.S. I love your location also. maybe add "...attempting to get behind the red line like the CHAI do." Edited July 6, 2015 by oddbal1
