E-50 Plastic Model Advice

Upon browsing a bit the Luchs kit actually isn't all that bad for a beginner Relatively few parts and no PE brass so it would be a simple build, plus it has single link track so you can get a good bit of experience with that. Only issue I found was the softness of the plastic, which basically means it's easy to warp or damage the parts when removing and cleaning up, but if care is taken then it's simple to work around that.

The benefits of shopping online, just buy the dank purple in the shop and have the poor guy think you're building a model car

Wow, I would have never noticed that. I just looked at the pics of both and it is the exact same hull and looks more like the E-50 we see in game with the turret. I'm a bit torn now though, I was looking around and found this.

Why is the inclusion of brass parts a challenge?

It mostly comes down to assembly, unlike plastic styrene which goes together without a hitch with a little liquid cement, brass parts require at minimum superglue in some form or another, can often be very small (think tool straps/braces) or intricate in their folding, and for complex PE assemblies need the use of solder to properly hold together. For beginners lacking the proper tools or skills brass can be daunting to deal with and I know of a few older modelers who try to avoid the stuff too as it can suck the fun out of what otherwise would be an enjoyable build.

Tiny, fragile metal origami. You will likely bleed as well as going blind.

But when finished? Wow, they look good.

So I think I'm gonna go with the luchs for now. When I get more experience I'll do the E-50 as I have some plans for that. Since its a durable tank I think it would be cool to some battle damage like scratched paint, gouge out some stress points in the armor and maybe have it look like it rammed something. :)
