Hull Upgrades: Yes or No

I figured this could also be a thread about which upgrades are good and bad. 

I wanted to ask about the Omaha A/B/C, I assumed hull B is worth keeping over C, because you lose 2 turrets (4 guns) and 1 torpedo tube to double your AA.  AA seems useless enough at tier 5 anyway, I only ever thought AA was effective when you have multiple ships with it beside each other shooting at the same squadron.  The extra guns seem way more valuable and the extra torpedo tube seems mildly more useful, since you can launch 2 volleys.

Just got to Omaha myself, had finished with it in CBT before they added the final hull but I think I will still stick with the B.

Well, the AA on the omaha isn't worth mentioning, it's the tier 6 and above that get the boosted aa skill where it actually matters. So for the omaha I would say to keep the B hull.

The B hull actually has pretty much the same AA DPS as the C hull, just at a lower range. Which counts for a lot.

Depends on how often you run into low tier carriers, and your playstyle.

If you like sticking near BBs/in a pack, the C-hull might prove more useful.

If you like lone-wolfing/hunting in a pair, B-hull.

I am using the "C" hull. I dont really feel the lost of the guns, only one less per broadside, and as for the torpedus, i rarely use them, so i alos have not felt the loss. I do notice the AA buff, i shoot down several planes a match, and i also provide battleship AA escort from time to time. Better AA really helps vs. lower tier IJN CV's, only dodging 2-3 torps is alot easier.

Since I rarely sailed broadside to the enemy in the Omaha I didn't miss the two rear guns. I preferred the extra AA but it's such a small change that YMMV

Yup. The C hull now adds a significant amount of range to your guns. Which, I would guess, makes it a good pick.

I find I miss the extra range and AA of the C hull more than I really utilize the addition guns and torpedoes if I use the B hull. The fish are very situational with that tub, and the extra range does more for its play style than the rare chance to use all the torpedoes effectively.
