Looking for Scout/Light Mentor NA

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I'm currently looking for an experienced player that excels at scouts/light tanks and is willing to help me improve. I've watched a bunch of videos and streams, which has helped me improve quite a bit, but I'm more of a hands on learner where I can pose questions and receive direct feedback on my actions. I'd prefer to run the Chaffee, T37, Bulldog, or T49. I'm available in the afternoons EST and anytime on the weekends. I'm really excited to start working with someone and improving.

Lately my games have either gone really well (partly due to luck I'm sure) or I've died within 2 minutes (and I'm not suic-scouting). Sometimes I last till the end, but don't do any real damage. This has often lead to "worthless scout" and other far worse messages from my teammates. When I contact them afterwards they almost never provide any real feedback as to what I could've done better. I feel like I hurt my team more then help and this drives me crazy. Anyway, it's all part of my drive to get better, so here I am; ready, able, and willing to learn.

Thanks,

Mike

You only have 1126 battles and you already have the T49?   You're really limiting your knowledge of the game by only running one line.

Retrain that crew for heavy tanks and play up the american heavy line for a while.  Light tanks are a harsh mistress even for experienced players, they are a cruel bitch for new players - especially at high tiers.  Playing the worst tier 8 LT in Tier X after Tier X match is a recipe for an early exit to your WOT career.

I just realized, if you have the chaffee AND the T37, AND the T49 - you must be running ghetto crews.  My heart aches for you.

It wasn't something that I rushed to and/or aspired to get; it just happened. I would play a tank until I could buy the next and so on and so forth. I didn't realize, at the time, that players didn't do this and I have since stopped at the T49. I only play it for laughs. I enjoy the Chaffee and T37 the most and that is where the majority of my games are and where I want to learn. I've read that tier 5/6 is a learning sweet spot. I plan to branch off to other lines in the future, but learning new good habits is easier then trying to break/relearn bad habits.

Read this.  Some of the map guides are outdated, but it'll be good for the basics and most of the important information is still relevant today.  And if you google for further information, ignore anything written by Tazilon.

And yes, I would suggest stick with tiers 5/6 for now for the reasons stated above.  While I love my T49, if I wanted to do actual scout tank play I wouldn't pick that one.

Feel free to hit me up ingame with questions, I play on NA East
