Anime Thread 3.1: It's Entertaining Only If You Masturbate

Oh right forgot to post this here

Watched this last night https://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=5177
Denpa-teki na Kanojo

Pretty interesting 2 ep OVA
MAL tags it as a murder mystery,
I wouldn't quite say that, more like a murder thriller with surprise! plot twists.
A fucking brutal OVA at that, very bloody.
Wish there were more than 2 episodes.

It's not immune to my nitpicking tho!

I had no problem with it, and Polygon is probably the best studio doing that format at the moment. Also not choppy from what I remember.

Basically my opinion on it as well, it may be jarring at first but you can get used to it pretty quick.
Have another action scene, this time from soon.tm S2, it was "leaked" yesterday.

@robosapieo i Also finished Flying Witch.

Shit was satisfying As fuck, i don't even know why. Maybe its because I've been watching so many action/thriller Anime as of late that watching something so laid back was amusing. i can't say I've seen an anime like this before though, and what i mean by that is the story literally has Zero Plot, there is no overall goal whatsoever and the characters are just enjoying everyday life to the fullest. Its a Slice of Life anime to the purest definition of the Genre (minus the witch/fantasy aspect)

So I was told that Taboo Tattoo is good, tried watching it, can't see any appeal even from the first episode other than that it probably appeals to teens in middle school or something with the setting and the character they went with. Also the art style and the gloomy tone on the backdrop just feels conflicting. Dropped it after checking the episode 11.

On the bright side, found Amaama to Inazuma. Loving it so far.

Watched Noragami Aragoto, kinda like it since it got a pretty nice OP and the character are likeable, although the story feels somewhat of a mess and at one point it kinda beating around the bush just to put more air time making it feels like the 2 main conflict build-up is kinda suffering due to that. Nevertheless, the progression is somewhat nice, but goddamn the red herring in the amusement park and the ending though, how am I supposed to make that connection regarding "Father"

( "= =)

Also, finally finished Kiznaiver, a bit disappointed it got a happy ending, kinda wished it have more grim or darker ending, oh well. The strong BDSM note from the show is a bit weird though, what's with Hisomu and Gomorins bondage bonds and the show revolving pain.

114? Okay...

Finally remembered to pick up Gintama again, I always forget why I even stop watching it. While binging it outside of the story arcs can be exhausting, watching a episode here and there never disappoints me.

... and I can't let Solo stay ahead of me in his progress on the show, heck he still claims he doesn't like it ("hey I watched all 300 episodes, it was meh" yeah, sure :doge: )

Gintama is amazing in weekly doses,
but it is a bit painful to binge watch, the mostly episodic nature and constant barrage of gags just make it super exhausting to watch for long stretches of time.
Or so I found when I watched it all.
I had a similar issue with Ranma 1/2, at some point after ep 100, it just became a real chore to watch, and mentally painful to finish.

Shows I finished recently and my opinion of them:

  1. Tales of Zestiria: Very entertaining.Not a lot to comment on.Score: 7/10
  2. Mob psycho 100: It was shaping up to be better than OPM but the ending was kinda meh.Score:9/10
  3. Mirai Nikki: I think rewatching SAO would have been a better use of my time since that show atleast has good animation and music.I almost always agree with the general consensus of every anime but not Mirai Nikki. This show was retarded AF.I'm gonna have to give it a 6/10.I'd like to go into further detail as to why I'm giving it such a low score but that would probably rustle a lot of jimmies.

So, finally sat down to watch some anime for the first time in 2 months, and the first episode I pick is Re:Zero 15.

Jesus Christ that was intense.  A lot dropped that episode.  I'm excited to see how Subaru tackles all of it. Feels bad to have missed out on the discussions while this was all still new haha.

What were your guy's final thoughts on Re:Zero? gud show? I hope it finishes (finished) strong.

Its SERIOUSLY good. It finished really strong. Not at the end of the story, but in a really good "save point" if you will. (Holy shit that pun was completely unintended)

If I had to describe Zestiria in one word, it'd be hollow.

Even Momokuri relying on the same gags and reactions for a whole season ala D-Frag didn't bore me or fail to engage me as much as it did.

I'm pretty sure everyone here remembers a lot of shit from 2012. Sword Art Online, Psycho Pass, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Sakurasou, Railgun S, the list goes on. I could say that any of those shows were pretty good, and most of you who have probably seen most of them as well would agree, but I'm here today to bring attention to one that almost nobody seems to remember from that year. Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Humanity has Declined) is one of the best shows I've seen all year. This is a kind of post apocalyptic show that I can't find words to describe. It's light hearted and has some pretty good humor, the colors are really light and story arcs are very short and loosely connected to each other. To make it a little more confusing, the story is told backwards so that you go back in time after each story arc, but it's actually fine watching it like this. I've held off on actually talking about the characters because the main character DOENS'T HAVE A NAME. She talks to fairies and shit, and acts nihlistic as fuck all the time. Fuck it, I give up on trying to describe this show. Just watch it cus I give it a 9/10.

Yeah, I had a review and everything planned out in my head, but I've got other things to do. A little frustrating that I'm getting backing into anime, just as I start attending classes.

Also, a reminder that when I first started posting in the original anime thread, I was in middle school. Currently, I'm attending classes at my local community college. Feel old yet?

I loved Jinrui wa for all the reasons you listed. The nameless thing in particular got me for some reason. And I thought the art was particularly charming with its looseness and pastel color palette.

I finally got around to watching Dennou Coil, which I think is an awesome show. Probably my favorite 'thing I should have watched a long time ago" of this year.

I'm really glad I watched it as well as Dimension W as well, because Shinya Takahashi (animator) has worked with Mitsuo Iso (creator of Dennou Coil and animator) a bit and that connection lead me to Welcome to the Space Show and now all those Blurays populate my otaku shrine :doge:

I also picked up A Letter to Momo since I was on a buying spree but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Also how the hell did I miss Jinrui. Every time I think I've found all the post-apocalyptic stuff, another series surfaces. Something to watch after finishing Kamisama Dolls.

I guess I should finally jump on the Re:Zero hype train then?

On a completely unrelated note, I just binged Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Usually I don't watch anime where boob physics take up 3/5 of the animation budget but this amine just kind of spoke to me. I regret nothing :3.
