Prem? lol. Y'all might hate me for this but I have a program on my computer that allows me to grab files and videos from pretty much any site, even those that would otherwise not allow you to. For exsample I can bypass those sites that require you to complete some BS survey to Download something. So same goes for kissanime, Crunchyroll, etc. I can just download the episodes in any of the available qualities (though I stick to 1080 or 720p).

I too can dl many animu at good resolution whenever I want, and I can stream animu whenever I want, I just stream due to watching to much animu, not enough HDDs, aka just convenience

I do however, dl animus if I deem them worthy

If current formats actually came with the wealth of stuff that say, Laserdiscs came with (amazing sleeve art, lots of cool inserts), I'd buy a lot more physical media than I currently do. But I guess that's part of the charm of that obsolete format in the end.

On the TOR network there is one onion site which is a directory for virtually every anime out there. Not for streaming, it's all downloads (can't remember if it's torrents or not, but I highly doubt it since torrents are insecure).

I don't know what exactly Drifter is... its for certain not dark, well maybe the humour is. Dunno I'd call it "Gritty Fun" or something.

So far it got nothing to do with stuff like Black Lagoon that occasionally gives you some feels or shows you the real bad side of things. Prime example is the Elf village happening. Immedeate revenge neither builds tension nor creates dramatic build up. Its just plain ol' gorging on gore animation (I assume the DVD release will show a lot more details of body parts splattering everywhere)

Drifters doesn't take itself serious, way less than even Hellsing did. Its a "fun" trip for everyone who just wanted action after action, isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not expecting any quality writing at this point. The theatralic "you won't get away with" this getting screamed at a burning city while fleeing isn't particulary good writing. The main characters don't seem fazed much or very inconsistently by what its happening.

The Music is what really sells this feeling. It isn't really dark or serious. Instead vivid and I dunno... playful?

As a matter of fact you get those tiny little anecdotes that give you a grin but kill all immersion. At 17.35 of EP 3... I swear thats a classic "Cowboy falls off horse" sound straight out of a 80's Western instead of something a dark army minion would expected to make when shot in the face

What's a good anime for a non-anime fan to watch? Things I've seen that have been good: Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champwhatever, Parasyte, Terror in Resonance, Death Note, Attack on Titties.

I'm bored and wanna watch more violent cartoons but not ones with magical schoolgirls in them.

I would say Baccano! or Kekkai Sensen if you want good fite scene. One Punch Man also have great action sequences. Black Lagoon if you're into shooty-shooty-bang-bang action. Haven't watched Hellsing personally but it got good action scenes too.

Watch Baccanno!

One of my personal favorites - its an equal parts goofy and serious action show about prohibition-era mobsters with a supernatural twist.  The story is told out of order and requires a bit of attention to follow it, but it's a ton of fun and I recommend it to everyone.

 

Darker Thank Black is another one of my favorite action shows (one that I've been meaning to rewatch for a while).  It's about a criminal underground involving super-powers, and is a great watch.  Also has a badass OP

(The more observant of you will note that both of these shows feature the talents of Brina Palencia in english dub - which by the way is top notch for both shows if you like dubs).

I'll leave you with those two for now, but there's certainly some more I could recommend if these aren't your glass of scotch.

EDIT:  Fucking @Lockhart77 sniping my Baccano! recommendation.  Kekkai Sensen is another one of my favorite shows by the way.  That one is sillier, but also a boatload of fun - I also recommend it.

Can't sleep so ended up watching Bakemono No Ko, its pretty good and a great watch for family type of movie, although I have to say it can really use some more excitement. Then there's Aki no Kanade that's practically like a love letter to a certain kind of passion.

You either need to like Cowboy Bebop's style or have to be a "old anime is best" snob to watch it. Deathnote and AoT make for perfect anime poster children. 

Hellsing Ultimate OVA for mindless gore and fun, Black Lagoon for good ol' schoolgirl free anime. Or what Lock and Knobby recommended.

 

If it's cartoons you want I can recommend Archer, Venture Bros or Rick and Morty
