Are the turret arcs on Iowa as bad as they are on North Carolina?

Actually it doesn't. Shoot left side Torps and still have unused tubes on right ,  it does not show loading time on left side tubes. This effects low tiered DD and all torp armed CAs that have left and right side tubes.

It does, when you have torps selected. Just like how you see the reloads on all individual gun turrets, when you have the guns selected.

I had not noticed that. Thanks. I guess once a noob, always a noob.

Has anyone else noticed that torpedo reload is based more on launcher size than anything else?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP.

The only place where it sort of makes sense is the Russian tier 2/3. Having 5x2 launchers is sort of a disadvantage vs. the 3x3 on the tier 2, because between the firing delay and that obnoxious thing it does where you fire one launcher and then the next one starts rotating to a different angle, it takes a while to get all the torpedoes out. At 3 km the spread is really small anyway, so I think "launches more torpedoes per second" is actually worth something.

Other than that, I think I'd take more launchers over larger launchers even without the reload bonus. It gives you more control over the spread and lets you waste fewer torpedoes.

It doesn't make sense that a Mutsuki loads so much slower than a Minekaze. The torpedoes are pretty close in damage.

I hate to admit this but, coming from DDs into the German cruiser line, I'm having problems dodging shells it seems.  I know small corrections work in DDs but I try that in CAs and just get blasted more often than not.  Any tips?

As I am playing a lot of battleships lately and doing quite well in those...I have no problems wrecking cruisers, even if they try to dodge. When they are closer than 12km.

Farer away and it is more and more difficult. So my advice would be: don't get to close to BBs in your cruiser, else you will have problems with dodging.

Closer than 10km -> chance to be oneshotted > 75% :)

Testicular cancer or colon cancer?

IJN seems to be the easier grind, but US seem to be the best top tiers.

Playing carrier is like playing a totally different game. It is more like an RTS game.

I don't like it one bit. Some do, I think it is terrible. And potentially game breaking, but worse than arty in WoT...because it is not RNG based.

Depends on how far down the line you intend to go, if you go all the way to top tier, USN, if you are just trying it out IJN. Low tier USN carriers are pretty painful in the sense that they move at a snail's pace and can't keep up with the fleet until the Tier 6 independence.

Overall, I prefer USN carriers simply for their tighter TB drop pattern.

Wait a moment! I just had a brainfart :)

Regarding the skill "aquisition range of torpedos"...does ist actually mean that you can spot enemy torps earlier?

That would make sense and would be a useful skill. Can it be true?

It does make sense, it is useful but what are the competing skills?

Yup, increase the range at which you actually see enemy torps.

Useful if :

- 1 : you are not good at predicting DD positions.

- 2 : as a BB escort cruiser, it makes you light up torp for them earlier.

- 3 : you fckn hate torps and go into fits of rage at the mere sign of them

It really is a situational skill, and as such does not warrant not taking Superintendent in it's place.

I sometimes think if that skill  "aquisition range of torpedos"  was moved to tier 2 it might be used more often. I would like to take it and all the tier 2 skills are nothing special. The tier 1 skills seem much more worthwhile. Only having 19 points is very limiting.

Since the patch my smoke stacks do not render any more. Only close...5km or less. Far targets, no smoke.

Any ideas how to fix?

What's the point of the Nicholas' second hull ?

Same as every other ship with three hulls. It exists so you don't have to grind out the full xp cost of the top hull stock.
