What Nations Are You Interested In Seeing?

Recommended Posts

I know that many people are looking forward to seeing the German and British lines.  Personally I'm looking forward to seeing an Italian and a French line far more than a German line.

There is a lot of diversity in the French and Italian lines especially ships like the French Le Fantasque class of destroyer's which were nearly the equivalent of some light cruisers with 5 5.5" guns. Or the Italian Littorio class BB's with their 9 15" guns and fairly substantial AA armament.

So what are you interested in seeing?

anything but the russian line. I dont wanna even try and guess what kind of bullshit paper project's they are going to come up with.

Sadly, the Soviet Navy was mostly just designs.  They had a couple of decent light cruiser classes, but most everything else was either Lend Lease or drawings.

Ha!  Not even...Tier 8 at best.  The Stronk designs were all done in the mid to late 30's.  But I'm sure the ghost of Stalin will lead WG to some hidden designs that were buried in a bunker in Stalingrad during the siege.

The Italian Navy (Regia Marina) has some amazing ships that I'd like to see included, particularly their heavy cruisers. Also, it'd be fun to see the Austro-Hungarian dreadnoughts in as Kaiserliche Marine prems.

I 'd like to see some appropriate naval battle mode, such as escort a convoy, bombard a coast, port blockade etc.

Normal battle mode doesn't look good for naval battles.

I was shocked to see the size of Chile's navy in WW2.  I'd love to see lots of the pretty active smaller countries like Australia get ships in the game.  The Italian ships have to make it in, since they were pretty significant.

There was a pretty serious arms race between the South American countries after HMS Dreadnought was built.  Brazil, Chile and Argentina all had battleships, and some of the other navies had ships up to the size of protected cruisers.

On a side note the British as primary builders for the Chilean and Brazilian BB's ended up "acquiring" 3 of them once WW 1 broke out.  1 from Brazil, and 2 from Chile.    After the war was over they returned 1 to each of those countries and kept the 2nd Chilean ship which was converted during construction into an aircraft carrier and became the HMS Eagle.

The commonwealth nations almost exclusively used British or American Lend-Lease ships. If anything I would expect to see some of them as premiums.

There is already a model for an oiler for use in some sort of escort mode.

I agree, but there are a few designs that could work. Canada had a aux cruiser that would work as a tier 2 of it's own design.

French Navy especially the DDs, powerfull gun, good torps, excellent speed (Le Fantasque up to 45 knots) but with low ROF and not very stealthy as they were big ships. The french cruiser seems good also. and Regia Marina for BBs and CAs.

Don't really know the soviet navy. maybe KoninKlijke Marine as the dutch had some interesting ships during WW2

The Dutch Navy might be a hard one to add. They never really got in the battleship game in any meaningful way. Though if WG is willing to put in nations that can't pull off full lines for everything then they should be doable.

Some DDS, CLs, only BC project (project 1047), gunboats.... not enough for 1 tree so.. WG should go with a minor nations tree, or insert premiums in allies fleet trees (RN or USN).

As I side note, I mentioned the Littorio class Italian battleships earlier.  Here is the Fritz X guided bomb that damaged the Italia and sank the Roma.  A Fritz X also wrecked the Warspite almost sinking her.

French and Italian fleet as well, they actually had a lot of unique ships and a sizable fleet but gets much less press than the German fleet and both are in general undervalued relative to the Kriegsmarine. The French had the a working carrier,  Bearn which is more than what the Kriegsmarine can say about the Graf Zeppelin for example.
