VK 100.01(P) - Tier 8

Checked out the armour model on gamemodels3d and did some number crunching.

As with the Maus, you can shoot the front of the track at an angle to bypass the side skirt. This however is only worth it if it's heavily angled (>30 degrees), as this area is actually stronger on the VK100 (Maus has 25mm tracks for whatever reason) and the other parts of the tank are obviously not as well armoured.

One good thing about the VK100 is that it's difficult to deal damage through the tracks from the side, as this area is 200mm thick in total.

Tje UPF looks way to weak for suchs kind of tanks, thats King tiger armor with a thougher turret, but no mobility :P (it does get a bigger gun and much more side armor, but dunno, i expected a thougher UFP)

I thought WG wanted to avoid tanks like the Mäuschen, that are impenetratable when toptier and absolute trash when bottom tier. Imagine the fun a Flatpanzer IV would have when meeting one of these things...

Imagine the fun the Flatpanzer IV currently has meeting an IS-6

...Wait, I'm sorry, how are you getting those numbers? Are those "effective after AP normalization"? Because I'm getting 238mm LOS thickness for the UFP at 54 degrees and 170mm for the LFP at 45 degrees [raw values].

That's effective vs AP. It's what I use because it's the most commonly fired ammo type.

Another thing I wonder is if the lower turret cheeks will act as a shot trap into the hull... not that anyone will ever aim there with that massive tumor on top.

Being a non-premium with mediocre pen, great armor, and bad mobility will make it one of those great top tier, ok middle tier, shit bottom tier tanks, like the FV201

You would think that WG would make premiums that were fun to play all of the time, so more people bought them *shrugs*

I was wondering about the shot trap thing as well, they seem to be sneaking them into german designs recently, the Jagtig8,8 for a few patches now has a very very very miniscule shot trap that wasn't there before where the plate the gun is placed on meets roof of the hull and the HD E100 added two shot trap flaps at the side that can ricochet shells into the roof of the hull if you aim for the one over the center of the tank when they are angling the turret.

I wouldn't be surprised if aiming there on this tank sends the shells straight through the roof of the hull and into the engine or something.

Dat ass, it looks pretty cool actually kinda like a Maus sports version.

However when its turret is looking to the side like that the engine deck looks like a massive target for arty.
