Best british med (apart from the Cromwells)?

I have a surplus british medium crew with BIA and have to decide which tank to grind for them.

I love the Cromwell, but since I already own the Cromwell Berlin, there is not much point in having the same tank twice, which leads me to my question:

Which tank should I put them on?

Comet is alright, but I tend to avoid tier 7 in general. Next good tank is FV4202.

Comet is nice tank that needs a bit of apcr to fully use it's abilities, 7/1 is nice once you get around to play supporting med with nice and very useful view range. 

If you went up the heavy tank line you could also throw the crew in there, I had nice crew for 7/1 and put the bia crew into 215b.

The FV4202 is great, mind it's getting replaced and getting a HEAT-round which will make it close to inferior in every way to other meds if they don't buff the top speed.

 

HESH is key, DPM goes through the roof and except for the waffle, NOTHING can kill you faster than you can kill them if you fire HESH. For example, HESH pens E 100 side turrets and sides pretty regularly(8/10 over 430 damage at least) yet people NEVER use it.

 

the speed is enough to flex, dep is great, gun is accurate with food and HESH DPM is awhmags  The combo is dangerous and hugely underestimated.

Yeah I've got four crew members sitting in my barracks now after I trained them up a ton in the Cromwell Berlin.  Will either re-buy the Cent 7/1 and put them in there or I'll use free exp to get to the Caernarvon and start up that line with that crew.  Had six other BIA crew members from that Cromwell Berlin sale that I stuck in my Conqueror Gun Carriage.

Kind of is historical accuracy, FV4202 has never mounted the L7, but it could.

"finally"? It was never the worst T10 med, it really hasn't been getting any noteable buffs but is still superior IMO to the 430 and the 121.

The 121's alpha advantage gets completely shafted if the opposing FV switches to HESH because higher alpha, DPM, gun control and depression advantages at the cost of having to aim more, which really isn't a downside if you've got good hand to eye coordination to begin with.

TBH, the Fv is much better than the M48 IMO. M48 is just so meh in so many ways, it gets shit on. The "All around" works great for the E5, but is crap for the M48. M48 can`t snap shot like the 62a/140 anymore, its still soft vs T9 and above all over, has a huge profile, has low DPM. So the Leo plays much better as camo opportunist. The Fv and STB have better hull down and DPM, almost all have same speed, E50 can bully as a pocket heavy sometimes and since the M48 isnt hard enough, it might as well be soft.

 

I think all in all M48 is the most meh t10. Fv at least has a niche of huge DMG when flanking.

In a nutshell anything but cromwell is just meh/a niche tank and your 2nd crew will rot either in the barracks or on some pricey tank gathering dust.

Oh boy you picked like the only med I would rather be in than an FV in almost every situation

Gun control, speed, turret armour (yes it's MUCH better, FV gets penned through gun mantlet and everywhere else too) and view range makes for probably the most dangerous med out there once you get not a corridor map. The M48 snapshots better than the RU meds do

the m(4)8 is a truly dangerous tank, I'd say that the FV is better than the 121, Leo 1 (rip meta), Obj 430 and AMX 30B but it's far from the best in tier, however I do think it's the best tank4tier in the entire line.
