So tell me a little bit about yourself, T40.

Since I haven't been able to find enough opinions on this tank, let's start here! What are your thoughts for ya'll folks who have owned it, or played it at all.

Pros?
Cons?
Meh's?
Quirks?
Stronkholds?

Tell me how you feel. Tell me how you REALLY feel.

fun tank in SH's, have a hard time seeing it being good in randoms due to the absolute ebola gun handling

that said I have 1900 dpg :serb:

just bad dispersion or bad aim time?

Something like the vk2801 derp?

I agree with Yung on the Alpha being one good advantage for peek-a-boom with other meds, but if that aiming reticle isnt fully aimed the bullets fly EVERYWHERE

Skoda was absolute trash until VW took them, just to be clear :)

Skoda was trash in the ages of communism and centrally planned economy bs. It was doing really well early in its history. And ofc now under VW it is prospering extremely well.

Fun fact: VW implemented a very strict quality controls back in 90s across all concern plants europwide. After several years and lot of efforts put in, it turned out that it is too pricey and company dropped it. Skoda is the only plant that somehow till these days manages to still keep those standards live.

so is the Skoda T-40 worth the buy?

would certainly give a head start on grinding a Czech medium tank crew

from what i've seen it operates similarly to the VK3001P (practically same gun after all)

I did a bit of crew grinding with a clan mate yesterday, where he drew the Skoda, so take this with a grain of salt: It feels very average in every department, but has quiet decent alpha. In pubs it's nothing special, but it's decent in strongholds. From what I've seen on this forum, it improves quiet a bit with crew skills.

If you want to spell it in original, it is Škoda. And Czechoslovakia is Československo. And now find it on your keyboard ;)

The gun handling is terrible. I played a game on Fiery Salient today in the Skoda and long range sniping was brutal.

It's painful with no carry ability in randoms, unless you get lucky. Which obviously happens, as it's tier 6.

However, those 2 skill crews prior to the release of the Czech tanks don't grind themselves.

It is squishy and attracts arty every match and tough to play in a tier 8 match with no crew skills. But, if you plan on warping up the line to higher tiers, the trained crew will make it less painful. Makes decent credits as well.

It's basically a VK3001P that's slightly less shit in most regards (ground resistances, gun handling, size) but at the cost of having a pretty lame HEAT premium shell (expensive, slow velocity), worse depression (6 on Skoda, 8 on 3001P) and lower top speed, although the 3001P almost never sees those 60kph anyway.

It's functional in a sort of generic way. I'm happy for another medium with short 88 at tier6, but I still miss the old old tier6 version of the 3001H something fierce.

I'm struggling with it in pubs. It's horrible in tier 8 games. The mobility is alright, nothing stellar, but its bloody big, so has next to no camo. The gun handling is not good.

Typical game for me last night.Map is Swamp, tier 8 game. South spawn, so i go to the centre hill to watch the castle and village in the north and watch for flankers who may come through the centre of the map. North force fails, i cant get shots and when i do its on an Indien Pnz. Bounce, bounce. Tress drop behind him, so i blind shoot while pulling back and BOOM! I get one hit ammo racked.

Think i'll sell it and screw the Czech tanks.

Still not sure, seems ok in a Tier 6 match nothing special.  Tier 8 forget it very squishy.  Seem to be a good crew trainer.

I actually checked the camo calculator and it's surprisingly decent. Not that I'm about 65% on my 2nd skill (which is mostly camo) I am noticing that it actually works fine.

I'm still running through my first skills, as i find the whole thing a bit of a grind atm.

But i did take camo as first skill for the crew to try to help a bit.

When you get tier 6 or even tier 7 games it seems to be able to ok, but those tier 8 games really make it bloody hard to be effective.
