So is the "Suppressive Fire" ability worth using?

So I tried it out in my new LAV-300 in PvP yesterday, I felt that the class has been nerfed. For I have to sit still while I fire 2 or 3 shells without losing my camo, But my problem is that no human is oblivious to ignore an sniper poking them for 15+ seconds without killing me or they won't sit still long enough. And there's also the fact that sitting still that long in AW is an death sentence for a glass cannon. Obviously, I miss the old sniper bonus. Do any of you have this issue or is it just me?

yeah, kind of a bullshit ability. You can get 1 maybe 2 shots of at most. I would rather they have done a short rate of fire increase or a damage increase.

No.

Its a POS ability that has now put the Tank Destroyer class at an even greater disadvantage than before. and as always has put MBT's at an even greater advantage.

at tier 6+

ERC is still very good, and 10p is kinda broken

Correct me if I'm wrong; I'm assuming that nearly most of the tank destroyers are fast, fragile, have better DPM than a MBT. And the term "suppressive fire" basically scaring an target into inactivity with constant gunfire while the rest of your team flanks and kills them. I can easily see an autocannon AFV or an armored MBT doing this in AW, but not an fragile sniper who needs to relocate each time it fires.

It's called "Fire Suppression" not Suppressive Fire, also, most TD's had their dmg buffed by 15% so they still have their "sniper bonus."  

That being said, yeah, they're in a worse state than in 0.11 the changes to the ammo system royally fucked them, but the new ability and sniper bonus has nothing to do with that.  

The Sheridan is in a hilariously awful state right now.  Every time it fires with the 152mm is looses all it's cammo for an absurd amount of time.

I played a bit of the LAV 150-90 and AMX 90 today and TD camo feels completely broken now. At first I thought it was just some sneaky AFV players but I noticed more and more I was getting spotted in places that normally provided great camo in the previous patch. Firing your gun at anything but MAX range basically gets you lit instantly making it impossible to actually use the class in the role it was intended for. The only thing now that will keep yourself from getting spotted is shooting at the farthest range possible which basically fucks you on a lot of the maps. It would be worth testing in a custom match some time as normal battles are hard to determine all possible variables.

The ability is made quite irrelevant by being forced to stay still to use it. Either you trust in it and stay still risking still getting spotted and punished for it or you play it smart and take cover after the shot like you always should which reduces the benefit to one shot each minute. Marginal benefit at best and not really worth the lost damage. In effect TDs, which already are the worst class in game at tiers 6+, got nerfed hard.
