3k recent ceiling? (t8-prem solo session 2h)

Recommended Posts

*Pick the ones you like! Plz don't go thru the whole session (its like 2 hrs long)

I have been trying hard to immerse myself in tier 10 solo to become kewei  to improve myself, but ran into a financial crisis (STB-1 heat spam + 50 120 = bankruptcy ;_;), and turn to premium tier 8 recently. Most of the replays are is6/fcm 50t battles, with about 3 50 120 games and 2 stb-1 games in which (I think) I went full potato.:frenchy:

Generally speaking, I am at a loss about how to push myself to a higher level. My tier8-10 have a recent of ~2.8k wn8 and 58% winrate, but I couldn't find that extra push to get to 3k/60% or above. Should I keep refining my playstyle / learn to flex /  try platoon teamwork? Maybe I should just play more hovercrafts kappa

If ppl are willing, I can provide some tier X replays maybe in a couple of days. Would appreciate any help :)

What do you even mean "should I keep refining my playstyle?"?

Theres always something you can refine?

Are you penning every single shot that you take?

Are you avoiding knocking down every tree possible that might slow you down?

Are you ever making a trade that ends with you losing more health than you do?

Theres always shit you can do to push yourself higher.

Without even watching the replay, i can straight up tell you that you are :

Missing way too many shots

Firing way too early than necessary

Shooting a tough target when a softer/easier one is in LoS.

Not getting out of a shitty situation early enough because you didn't look at the map and end up in a flank with only 3 people against 6+.

Not reacting to map fast enough to reinforce a flank that you otherwise could of.

Dying way too early because you end up going to a spot every enemy expects you to be in and get vaporized because you deserved it.

Why do I know these things? because its shit that I still do from time to time and im still working on it.

Wao chill man:cri: y r u mad

I know of some people that enjoys watching replay more than the actual game, and my intention is to give those people choice over a non-cherry-picked bunch of replays, so that they can chill and laugh at my mistakes and (mercy!) probably give me any kind of feedback.

Asking people to go thru all those replays is a bitch move. I will never ask for that! If I sounded like that, I am truly sorry.

thanks for the tips :)

You rarely get anything out of replays, because if you are lacking in one things, odds are good you are lacking in everything else.

I've never seen a player who is exceptionally good at reading maps but can't shoot well, or vice versa.

And at your level, im willing to wager that you lack in everything, not by a little, but a lot.

Lingers to long in a good but arty target spot. Peeks greedy. Misjudged a reload. Didn't check to make sure the pubbie had given him room to back up. Forgot about the TD 4 squares back. Didn't fully drop lights before returning to the bush. Was impatient and left a defensible spot right when the event pushes. Took a lazy line.

That's my list for like... Any given day when I'm not 80% 4k....

Positioning, early damage, map awareness, reading your & enemy team composition and judge by instinct who's gonna be where and practice. I was for a really long time stuck at 2,5kwn8 recent, I literally couldn't get above that WN8 in any tank that I've played not even the tanks with really low expected damage. I just started improving all of a sudden, it may be because I played quite a lot but it just clicked one day.

Don't get me wrong, I'm far from perfect, I do way too many mistakes or miss early damage or just go full derpmode but it's not as often anymore. As Carbon said there's always something you can improve about yourself in a game. There's basically no perfect player out there, I highly doubt it, everybody makes mistakes just ones are more pronounced than others. Work on trading effectively, not 1:1 try to make enemies miss as many shells as possible or bounce on your armor(if you have any) as this only increases your survival chances which leads in you being able to do more damage.

I personally nowadays am trying to win games instead of dealing damage where I know it won't lead me to a win. Somehow I get more mad if my WR is bad but my WN8 is great. I do aim for 70% recent wr and above which worked quite well for the past few months.

Carbon isn't mad, he is honest. Even at the most extreme top end of skill, we are still finding flaws in our gameplay. Ours have become habits though, so it becomes much harder to break them.

Off the top of my head, my biggest flaws are

Valuing an important map position over the rest of the team going to the other flank (trying to focus on this a lot over the past few weeks), leading to being rushed and dead.

Being way too greedy with good positions when there is arty to dig me out of it.

Peeking to get a shot on an unsuspecting tank, but being sniped from someone else for it.

Not thinking ahead more than 30 seconds, generally leads to getting rushed.

Just wondering, if you were to play perfect games, every game, for a session. What win rate do you estimate you would get?

100% :doit:

Realistically speaking around 70% is nearly perfect session when soloing, you just cant win them all,

I sort of want that tank after the recent buff but I'm still not sure I need it with Type 59 and all :l
