What's better, situational awareness or recon?

Recommended Posts

I have both situational awareness and recon for my IS4 commander. Along with BIA and repair (crew from my IS-2B)

However I just earned my 5th perk/skill and I picked 6th sense but it's not 100% yet (7%.)

Which should I switch for so I can give my commander 100% 6th sense. Sit aware or recon?

Sit. awarenes +3%

Recon +2%

Thanks. Trading 6th for recon but keeping recon. Extra view range couldn't hurt.

you still don't make sense -_-

I have 5 skills/perks for my IS-4 commander:
4 of them are at 100%: BIA, repair, recon, sit awareness.
1 is at 7%: 6th sense

Get it now?

What I don't get is why you are only now just getting 6th sense.

That is literally the very first perk I have on all my tanks.

Uh because this was my crew for my IS-2B and repair was my first followed by BIA. 6th sense is pointless in an IS-2B that is a close range brawler with a crappy dispersion.

ehh no. Always have 6th sense as your first perk; always.

The only tanks where 6th sense isn't as important are skycancer, in which case you make BIA your first perk, then have 6th.

Uh no. Not in a heavy that you side scrape in or use peek a boom tactics and you get tracked often. Plus repair and large repair kit = not getting permatracked.

Sorry to break it to you - 6th sense is a must on all tanks.

Has it occurred to you that I might know better?

So you're telling me that if you're grinding a new heavy skill, your first pick is 6th?

Talk about a thread going off on a tangent...

Edit: If you're going to start neg'ing people for disagreeing with you and thread crapping then I can do the same.

Yes; grind up repairs or something then switch it out for 6th as soon as it reaches 100%, then train repairs again.

Also, it's fine that the thread is going off on a tangent since we are actually discussing something that you really should know.

At least you aren't outright refusing to talk about underlying problems unlike that @LuckyStarr moron.

From what you've said so far, I can conclude you find view range very valuable, but knowing when you are spotted is of little concern. Because you are brawling/sidescrapping anyway, which means that in most cases that extra view range is just as useless and you might as well pick up firefighting.

To reply to your last post. If I want to be cheap I get 6th sense first and rest repairs, and later on Bia when I'm half way or so into the 3rd skill if retraining for credits.

Ok, I do it the same way just delayed a bit. repairs, BIA and 6th. It didn't happen this way with this crew. 6th was last. But from a survivability standpoint 6th is necessary.

This is what I meant. 90% of my battles have been in heavies. I love to brawl so repair and BIA are appropriate. 6th does me no good if I'm face to face with 4 other tanks and I'm sidescraping.

Trust me, the ability to know when your tank is spotted is MUCH more valuable than slightly better crew performance or slightly faster repair speed. You maybe thinking only about the situations where you are brawling, but you also have to worry about the times when you are having to carry, and in a carry situation 6th sense is priceless.

But you will not always be brawling or sidescrapping, then you want sixth sense to let you know whether you are spotted or not, a few % of view range won't save your ass from that Jagu camping half a map away, sixth sense might.

And this is why I put it on quick for paper tanks like the Conqueror and FV215.

You should do it for EVERY tank, please for the love of all that is holy, don't be one of those shitters who utterly blows a carry because he isn't able to know when he's spotted until it's too late.

Why are you asking peoples opinion on skills and then ignoring the advice of those better than you?

1: 6th Sense

2: BIA

3: Repairs

4: Either SA or JOAT (Dont have an IS4 to know how often crew members die

5: Whatevers left

If you 100% know youre going to be on Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, and Ensk every match sure, 6th isnt as helpful. But being a heavy on say Prok, Murovanka, or even Karelia? 100% positively required.

Because I was arguing about one particular tank that I was training my crew for.
Not all of them! I have 6th on most of my tanks that I play. Just didn't happen to have it on this one.
