FavreFan4ever 281 Share Posted March 21, 2016 I skimmed the first three pages of the French forum on WoTlabs and was surprised to not find a dedicated appreciation thread singing the praises of the AMX 301er. I probably missed it, but in the event that one has not been created, here you go. This tank is fantastic. It is a tank that makes me feel like a unicum. It's fast, it begs you to flex and find new ways to use the gun depression, it hits hard (especially for a French tank), and it looks good doing it. It also has higher pen than the French tier 9 TD (because WG balance). I only have 100 games in the AMX 301er but it's a keeper tank for me. Once I get more girls in it (yes, that's my ghetto crew on the left) it will be even better. Share your thoughts on this masterpiece of French engineering, bathed in sexy French blue. Gun is derpy as hell, but Vents and Food help with that somewhat. Very good mobility and reliable ammorack (PTA, looking at you). Only actually bad thing about these soft mediums are their inability to carry teams on most situations and maps. I've only managed to hard carry few games with shear volume of shots and spots, contrary what's much more frequent with for example -54 -62A -140 and so on. 260 APCR pen is very good for a tier9 tank, especially if you're top tier, but the derpiness of the gun makes you bounce shots which you shouldn't so I wouldnt worry too much about shooting few HEAT shells once in a while. Anyways, having such a high standard pen means that you actually make money playing the tank, with premium account 30p is better for its own tier than the 30B, but I still enjoy the tier10 very much. ThomChen114 291 Share Posted March 21, 2016 i'm just currently at the AMX 13 90 and haven't yet decided yet on which line to go down first (i do plan to go down both lines eventually). on the one hand is the (so i've heard) painful Lor 40t before the legendary BC 25t, or to get the AMX 30 leading to the AMX 30B. i haven't seen that much AMX 30s in SEA though Link to post Share on other sites

For some reason it strikes the perfect balance between mobility and mass for the new physics, so it just feels really 'tanky' to drive. It may be unsuited to the current meta but I really appreciate the solid alpha, and the RoF isn't too bad. So far I expect to like this tank at least as much as the (pre-buff) PTA, which I loved. I keep finding myself closer to the enemy than I really want to be... if (30 1'er) played like PTA, you can actually feel the dpm difference. If they gave the PTA this turret, it would be so nice. Less fire chance doesn't really make a difference to me (now that I've said that I'll get set on fire every game) but does the lighter engine make a noticeable difference? Eh so I keep reading, but I spend so much time in T10 games that I may as well grab the T10 for the extra DPM and soft stats. Gun handling is generally better and a small DPM boost is there for sure, but imho, all comparable tanks like STB, cent AX, patton of course are way better... not sure bout leo1 traverse speed is annoying... reminds me of lorraine/batchat but I try to get the best for the acceleration and top speed (way better than other meds) Link to post Share on other sites

Mainly because of sexy looks. I'll probably cave and do something like this, but 400k exp of grind with constant credit loss is another way for the 13 90 to make its driver.
