I have been using GData for several years and wonder if anyone has a recommendation for another program.

Malwarebytes and Avast are great, especially since they're free.

and while doing so it doesnt slow your system.

Almost everyone in China hates it...cuz the chinese version they released is not only hard to uninstall, it also brings an entire bundle of their useless software with it.

There are 2 versions of software, antivirus and bundle, they probably installed bundle version.

I gave link to antivirus only version.

I'm using malwarebytes atm, it works good enough. I don't DL random crap though so that helps. Most other antivirus programs seem to think that tundra.exe is a Trojan. Which considering it modifies WoT directly makes sense.

Used to use Malwarebytes but Windows Defender does the job nowadays.

Personally use Malwarebytes, but I've also heard good things about Webroot if you don't mind paying/want realtime protection.

Woah it's you.

Windows Defender and occasional Malwarebytes + Adwcleaner scan. Works for years now. Also I ran Kaspersky Rescue Disk few times to see how system is protected, 0 viruses found, so it's ok.

Is antivirus still even a thing?

I run windows defender and an occasional Advanced System Care scan and I never have problems.  I guess I just sort of thought the AV ship had sailed years ago.
