2k recent. whats next ?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

First, I greatly appreciate all threads and info on this forum which helped me a lot to improve.

My stats are pretty bad but gradually improving.

How did I get 2k recent ?

  • Reduced playing lights and arty.
  • Play higher tier tanks. Tier 8-10. Even if matchmaking rewards with bad team, there is more chance to defend with better guns, mobility or  armor at this tier.
  • Use free exp to unlock modules on tank. Get aggressive position in beginning and try to get flanking shots. Platoon all night with good people. [mostly friendly players who like to support each other and you can rely on each other]. Sadly no unicorns in my friend list as I don't use xvm so can't really tell how good is everyone.
  • Stopped using xvm : I miss couple of good features like hit log and zoom out mod. Not seeing chance to win and color of player on both team gives a peace of mind.
  • watching stream of good players helped a lot to understand good positions on most of the maps and where not to go.

I would like to know how to get 2.5k recent or 3k. I got 3k recent couple of times but after playing TDs for missions, it was back to below 2k.

Thank you

Slap on food to every single tank and sit back at redline to snipe.

the CHAI way of being a unicum.

-better optimized positioning

-better map awareness and knowledge of what to do in each situation

-pubbie unicum shuffle

are what come to mind as things to go for

above all else though, don't be afraid to try new things even at the costs of stats. Never hard yolo'd the middle of lakeville in a heavy? try it. Never brought your batchat city in ruinberg? do it. If they go horribly wrong you can learn from the mistake. If it goes right you can see what made it work and what didn't.

At this point, you know the generally good spots for each of the maps and types of tanks.  One of the next steps is to work out WHY those spots are good for those tanks, and under what conditions.  Once you have done this, you will be able to start to understand when to modify those initial strategies based on what tanks your team has and what tanks the enemy team has.  This is one of the biggest mistakes that beginner and especially intermediate players make - they learn a reasonable set of opening moves, but then never develop beyond them.  Start by always ask yourself why something works.

Also, it may be that you already do this to some extent, but try to get a feel for the rhythm of matches - I think this is what @zapyoug is referring to as the unicum shuffle.  Start getting a feel for when you've gone dark and when it's okay to poke again, and get out of the habit of sitting still no matter where you are (unless you're deliberately hiding and trying to maintain camo - then don't shuffle).

I also strongly second @zapyoug's suggestion to try new things and see what happens.  This, combined with my first point, will let you start expanding your meta-knowledge.

unicum shuffle was actually referring to wiggling your tank around and moving at strange times much like the "pubbie shuffle" but intentional which can increase survivability but as timing is a huge part of it, you got it about right.

The thing that you can't forget is that the difference between 2k WN8 and 2500 WN8 at high tiers is fucking nothing - normally its one, maybe two shots of damage depending on the tank.

Just make sure that you stop missing those couple shots each game, and your WN8 will benefit.

Thanks all.

@zapyoug and @_Juris I will remember your suggestions.

This weekend, had bunch of bad games when all team was most of the teammates vanished form map within 2-3 minutes. Apart from those games, getting closer to 2.5k recent.

If you find yourself in a game like that (generally you can tell based upon your teams deployment, etc) in my opinion you're better off to sit back and chai snipe as your team is getting absolutely fucked. I've turned games around by doing that, tracking a heavy when he comes around the corner so even the shitters can right click + left click him.

And if you don't win the game, at least your WN8 won't look shitty.

2.5k Recent !

Recently I realized playing on slow laptop is affecting the gameplay a lot.

Spotting mechanics is delayed by at least 3 seconds with my old laptop. It sucks to get hit by tanks 50m in front of you but you can't see them for 3-4 seconds.

I adjusted the gameplay, not peeking first over corner or less yolo. It is helping to improve wn8.

Thanks all for your inputs.
