A 3 digit scale should help for exactly that reason (not WN8). Its different enough to avoid a knee jerk reaction and should force people to actually look up why their stats changed.

@Kolni knows Swedish and I know a bit of Danish.

You're really not helping your skåne/sweden game here :doge:

A few visual representations of possible scales might go a long way in helping you decide.  The current scale on your WoT stats site( http://jaj22.org.uk/wotstats.html ) for WN9 is an effective comparison, as is your 900 WN9 = 900 WN8 example earlier in the thread.  Perhaps pick a few scales of your choice to compare to WN8 and WN7 and have another poll/discussion.

Yeah, I'll probably do that with the following selection:

base 300 base 450 base 650 base 1300 base 1500 base 1850
<100 <150 <200 <420 <500 <550
100 150 200 420 500 550
140 210 300 580 700 800
180 270 400 740 900 1050
220 340 500 900 1100 1300
270 410 600 1100 1350 1600
320 480 700 1300 1600 1900
370 550 800 1500 1850 2200
420 620 900 1700 2100 2500
470 700 1000 1900 2350 2800

Colours don't match there but you get the idea.

Right hand three intersect with WN8, left three don't (well, except at really low numbers). Base 1300 is pretty close to WN7. I forget who suggested the hundreds (base 650) but it actually fits the scheme quite well.

First of all thank you for your work.

About the scales:

Some of these were already mentioned, but here is my two cent:

I personally don't like the scales from 1300 upwards because of the similarity to the former metrics.

The 650 looks good but one can use percentages any time. Plus this is an inefficient use of 4 digits.

In the case of the 450 there will be players above 1k so once again +1 digit.

The 300 is the best one from my point of view. There is only bad thing about it. Players with high battle count will lose the sense of progress.

Would the base 3000 be a bad idea?

Fixed number of digits.

You have a sense of progress.

Follow the tendency of the previous scale changes: unicum wn7<wn8<wn9

Bobs won't ask who stole their stats.

Ps:I didn't read the whole thread if this was discussed earlier just ignore it.

Can we make purple really bad and dark red unicum if only for a month? I want to see everyone flip their shit and confuse the XVM sniping arty fuckers.

I love you, would you marry me?

I quite like the base 650 scale there, but then I just tend to like scales with "round" key points, and this one's got plenty of those. Plus, being able to refer to the highest category as "4-digit players" seems convenient, or something like that. And since this rating is supposed to be contribution-linear, the contribution difference between each successive category would hypothetically be equal with that scale. If that overflow into 4 digits is undesirable though, then a scale exactly 1/2 of that should be just as aesthetically balanced.

Excellent work putting this together.  I personally prefer any of the left three over any of the right three.  Steering clear from WN7/WN8 just feels right.

Base 650 would be my top pick as I feel it really fits the mold as a good scale.  There is a really nice progression from each color and breaking into 4 digits to become a super uni would be a rewarding end goal.

Yeah, I'll probably add that one and remove the top three scales, as the 400 scale got a pretty solid majority in the end. That might cause 2500-scale voters to shift to the top scale, but so be it. I can always post a third poll between the final two.

The 4 digit overflow isn't a huge issue for most uses, although it may be mildly annoying in XVM.

I love that each color rolls over at 100 point intervals on the 650 scale.
So 650 is my vote. I'd also like a black spot for under 100 to show bots more clearly.

Thanks for all the work.
