Rexxie 10,789 Share Posted June 1, 2016 The third iteration of the elimination thread will be judging the backbone tier - 8! The rules are the same as before; increase the best tank on the list by 1 and decrease the worst tank on the list by 3. Each user is allowed to do this a maximum of once per day. When a tank hits 0, it is eliminated. You must explain your choices, even if very briefly. Highlight your increase with GREEN and your decrease with RED if possible. If you cannot use colors, use BOLD for your upvotes and ITALICS for your downvotes. I'll keep track of what tanks are remaining and in what order they were eliminated. Remember to make sure you are copying the latest list before posting. This time we will be a little more strict in both what tanks are listed and how we will vote for them. We will not be including light tanks nor premium tanks - these will be used in a future elimination thread. Additionally, we will be voting on tanks purely out of a combination of power and fun. If you upvote or downvote a tank for a reason other than how powerful/weak it is or how fun/unfun it is to play, your vote may be vetoed at my discretion. Well, 203 base pen is not spectacular, and APRC is the same as T-44, and way worse than the Pershing. It may be decent for bad players, but the skill ceiling for this POS is the lowest I've ever seen. Super duper DPM, penetration and alpha means you will (and can) shred tanks. Even if the HD rework gimped it's armour slightly, it's still the most fun T8 to play that requires skill and positioning to maximise it's effect. But, post HD remodel, literally has nothing going for it. TVP VTU: 14 - 3 = 11 The gun depression with the top turret is so bad on this chassis that many people run the stock turret with the 88mm. I never even unlocked the 105mm when I sped through the grind because I heard the combination of long aim time with no gun depression was awful. IS-3: 25 + 1 = 26 This tank was declared the winner before the thread started. The gun is more accurate than an M46. WTF!? Link to post Share on other sites

It's not, the M46 has 0.39 final accuracy versus the IS-3's 0.40 along with much better gun handling. Still, the winner is obvious. I think it would be more of a competition to see which tank gets second place, considering first is already a foregone conclusion. Personally I don't much see the appeal of tier 8 anyway considering most tanks within it are rather uncomfortable to play and they tend to have pretty low damage output for their HP, SPMM or bust, Link to post Share on other sites
