Total annihilation was my first RTS. Such a magical game for a 7yr old kid. I was so proud of myself when I figured out that there were more than one build panel "omg I can only create economic buildings! This is gay! Oh what's this button do.... YAAAAAAY FACTORIES"

Warzone 2100 still is the best RTS i've played. I haven't played it in a long while but the devs released the source code, it has been maintained and further developed by fans http://wz2100.net/

Wasteland.  When I was in high school, this thing was amazing.  No fighting or action that you controlled, it was strategy, warfare and survival all in one.  Would spend hours after school playing this game.  Showing my age a bit on this one.  lol

Call of Duty 2

Battle for Middle-Earth 1 and 2

PES 6

Need for Speed Carbon

I bought my first PC back in 2006 and most of these games just came out so I quickly got into them.

Im currently in some sort of a crisis where I cant find any other game that can satisfy and entertain me other than WoT (8 out of 12 months a year) and those 4 up there. I played those 4 games every week from 2006 to now and there are no games that can replace them.

SW Battlefront 1 was one of my favorite games growing up. Forever camping the tunnel on Bespin, mowing down the Stormtroopers :^) Also enjoyed the early Gran Turismo games, they were (are) great racing games.

Star wars Galactic Battlegrounds was one of my first computer games and I honestly remember how intrigued I was by that game, one of my first console games was probably Star Wars Battlefront <3

Golden Axe was the bomb, as was the first Prince of Persia.

Doom, Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 and Heretic are evergreen for me. I can always come back for a run.

Hexen and Hexen 2 were fun but their hub-based gameplay is a little long in the tooth.

Blood was probably the best BUILD engine game but also the most underrated. Most people play Duke Nukem 3D (Which was just shit after the 1st episode) and ignored the gem that is Blood.

Rollcage and Rollcage Stage II were brilliant but impossible to play on a modern PC. Luckily we have GRIP in EA: http://store.steampowered.com/app/396900/

Too many to mention, but I loved the Elite sequels (buggy as fuck--& confusingly named--though they were) & now Elite 3 ("Frontier: First Encounters") has got a nu3d reskin job (along with some much-needed bugfixes):

There's about eleventy billion different flavours of same & it's utterly bewildering to anyone not nostalgic for the early 90s but I love it, still.

Oh, & the second Total War (Medieval I) still gets played to death. Actual tactics! Enemies that fight back rather than stream toward you at 200mph!!! Having to manoeuvre!!!!

Sigh.

Thought he was asking for old games and possibly some different choices to play, sorry for misinterpreting the OP/thread.

Props for playing Hawken tho. I need to play more of that. It's lots of fun.

I enjoy it, being playing on and off since launch (lifetime member). Its still has the classic MMO feel, multiple skill lines with numerous hotkeys. Makes you think a bit about button combination, especially the Warden class.

For me some of the games I played growing up were on the Nintendo 64. Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong, and Star Fox. I haven't played them in like 10+ years though. After that I played Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 on the Xbox. For the PC I played the original Starcraft and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.

Oh yeah and Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo :^)

Started with an Atari. Progressed up the consoles (sega megadrive, n64, xbox and PS4) but first game I loved to play (and still do) is the orginal Dues Ex. Great story line and a wealth of choices (being a ninja hacker who also loves to fire nothing but flamethrowers)
