precambrian 789 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I came into the 50 100 a little bit apprehensive. Many friends despised the tank because of its aberrant drum reload time; I was used to the rapid fire reload of the American autoloaders, which I had played most recently, and was still haunted by memories of the Lorraine, a tank that nearly killed me getting through, but figured, tally ho m8, needed for tournaments and whatnot. My first ten games, I played with the crew from my M4 45- 70% into their first skill, and I absolutely despised the tank. I could not make it work for the life of me, and quickly got frustrated. I rage-transferred my much more experienced Bat crew (not like we're fighting in CW amirite) into the tank, slapped some camo on for good luck, and tried to be more patient. The results: Hello, my new favorite t8 pubstomper! Can't wait for the stupid radio op off the M4 45 to get to 100% so I can slap BiA on there.. although in other news, I'll be needing an FCM to train myself a crew for the Bat heu hue heu hue And of course, an obligatory camera whore picture of my little derp machine: Two notable late game carries (the pubs man, if they just let you keep on reloadin', this damage piles up): And this next one just today, so far my highest XP game (pitiful, I know, wtb Chaffee) Absolutely, completely goddamn mental. What are your opinions of the 50 100?
Assassin7 4,353 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I loved the 50 100. recently bought it back now i have finished the grind to the 50B. its good thing too, since when i played it it was when i was just starting my quest to get better, so i need to fix my terribad stats in it. Silty 8 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I appreciate this tank for exposing some flaws in my tanking ability.
ride277 6 Share Posted August 17, 2013 That tank is awesome. I completed the grind to the 50B 2 weeks ago, but haven't had the credits to buy it yet. If you like that tank, I can really recommend the AMX 50 120. That tank is a fucking beast, love it. I am not gonna sell any of those three i guess. Good thing lots of players underestimate the power of those french autoloaders. One of the advantages over the american ones is that they shoot APCR as gold rounds, which means more pens over long range. This is true for all three. Imho HEAT rounds are somewhat fucked up. APCR pens less over range, but better through spaced armor. Please stay on top of your mechanics and don't post misinformation! Sinistah and Ollie Tabooger

Gath69 15 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I need to buy mine back to get the winrate up over 50%. It was a tank that I really didn't get the hang of it until late in my grinding. It is hard to carry BT8 battles with little armor and the need to hide and reload, but it can really clean up low damage targets and put some hurt on unsuspecting victims. It will be a fun one to buy back and play, maybe end up being a keeper in my garage.

It's an amazing feeling being able to one clip tier 9s. If you can find a place to shoot without being spotted/shot at.. the tank is absolutely fantastic, it eats up just about anything. I haven't had trouble carrying games, to be honest; if you can maintain your HP pool early, that turns into your "armor" late

Now that I am much better about abusing View Range, Spotting, Draw Range I think I could make it work a lot better by playing conservative, opportunistic sniper early game, damage dealing mid game and clean up late game and like you said then you can use your HP as your armor. Taking one maybe two hits to finish off an enemy late game wouldn't be an issue if you have conserved your HP.

I haven't had trouble carrying games, to be honest; if you can maintain your HP pool early, that turns into your "armor" late I still remember this one game in mine ages ago, saw a T95 full HP in the city in seigfried line, flanked round the side of him, 1 into his track, which also did damage as well as tracking him, then the rest into his side. 1 clipped from full HP. its a great feeling. That match on El Halluf that I posted- I had to face 2 JTs, an arty piece, and a low health Super P at the end; I had full health, which proved to be crucial. I clipped out one JT without taking any damage and reloaded; by the time I finished off the second, he had shot me once and the SP had shot me thrice; I took out the SP and went arty hunting, killing it with 15 seconds left, and ended the match having lost all my HP in the final 2 minutes. I think I ended with ~60 odd health, it was scary trying to avoid that splash haha
LamaLeif 92 Share Posted September 2, 2013 The only thing I don't appreciate about this tank is the shell dispersion, it seems to have a mind of its own and landing shots near the edge of reticle a lot.
Whee 65 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Every time I see one in good players hand, I'm afraid of them. Their also used in tournaments too. Very useful in those fast engagements.

BeLiAL124 292 Share Posted September 18, 2013 I have 1800 battles in mine...it's the only t8 reg tank I play. I average around 2500-3000 dmg with 2+ kills in mine. It's a great tank in a platoon.
weesh 669 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Is it playable solopub? I'm hesitant because it seems pretty rough without a guaranteed anchor tank.
Salsaheaven 16 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Yes, it is. Use pubs shamelessly as meat shields.
daddlar 3 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I have no idea how to AMX 50 100. My lack of ability to estimate what the battle looks like 1 minute forward prevents me from pushing. Usually end up sniping side armour 100-300 metres away.
precambrian 789 Author Share Posted September 21, 2013 In general if you're pushing in the 50 100 you're doing it wrong you're supposed to support pushes from the sides or rear, although you can do it from the front as long as you're not getting shot at. Anywhere you're getting shot at is NOT where you're supposed to be, you're not in a T69 where your exposure is so minimal that you can spike your entire load into a single target at once. Be patient getting your clip off.
Deusmortis 4,618 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Picked this up this weekend, in preparation for entering the tournament scene. I have to say, I'm quite mad at myself for not getting this thing sooner. Loving it so far.

Rexxie 10,788 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I remember when I realized the 50 100 got the full 6-shot 1800 damage burst that my Lorraine did. I always assumed that would be fucking insane, enough burst in your clip to take out T9 heavies? No way. The 50-100 had to only have a 5 shot clip. Nooope, haha.
precambrian 789 Author Share Posted September 28, 2013 I haven't had time to play it/this game very much recently (except those foching tier 5 missions) but I did pick up a nice 600 rounds of APCR, so I should be good for the foreseeable future ;DD Agamemneon and ViktorKitov 1
