Is running tier 10 advised, for me?

Question

So recently, I have been playing tier 10 more and more in my Grille 15. After switching back and forth between tiers 6-9, it appears to me that tiers 9 and 10 are where it is "at", especially 10. I am comfortable in my T-10, but find that I love that Grille 15 at top tier, and tier 10 in general for the following reasons:

1.) Team quality has gotten bad, at least at tier 10, I am top dog - so to speak.

2.) Generally (I say this loosely), tier 10 teams are better.

3.) I can't carry, not good enough, especially when I am tasked to save a failing team when I am two tiers down. At tier 10, at least I have some firepower to work with.

As you can see my stats have taken a hit, WR is down, and my recent WN8 is down as the Grille has a pretty high bar (for me) for expected damage. Still, I really enjoy running at tier 10, and if I get a decent team, and my decision process is up to snuff, I find I enjoy it more.

Am I just committing stat suicide? Does it really matter?

Will working at higher tiers make me a better player (my belief at this point.)?

Would it be fair to say that by continuing to push myself at tier 9/10, it will force me to get better, stats be damned in the interim, or am I fooling myself about trying to get better by swimming in the ocean vs. the kiddie pool?

Thanks!

Kewei believes that it's the best way to get better (trial by fire, if you will) and I tend to agree with him on this - assuming that you are actively trying to get better by considering what you did right and what went catastrophically wrong (and most importantly why) and learning from it. The reason it's so effective? Tier 10 tends to be pretty punishing of mistakes, so you're bound to get lots of learning material until you're significantly better than average.

Tier 10 it is then. Thanks for your informative insight. My IQ is high enough that I can feed myself, so yes, I realize when I picked the wrong flank, pushed too soon, didn't push hard enough, or picked the wrong target. However, I must just start uploading these into Tape Study, to get more insight.

Thanks again.
