WoWS WoTLabs equivalent

Recommended Posts

Just curious if there is an equivalent site to WoTLabs for World of Warships. I mean, obviously, I'm discussing WoWS on WoTLabs right now, but there isn't nearly as much in depth content here for Boats as there is for Tenks. Is there any other repository of WoWS wisdom online I can reference?

There won't be until WoWS has end game content. When that happens, expect a lot of expansion in discussion. WoT content creation took a nose dive for the same reason when CW: Participation Trophy Edition was rolled out. Once there's a sustainable competitive scene content creation will increase.

Alright, sure. On the Lo Yang/Benson: AFT or Demo expert as first tier 4 skill? On the Lo Yang, High Damage/Short Range torps or Long Range/Anemic Damage torps?

AFT is very difficult to benefit from on US destroyers, which Lo Yang essentially is, due to the low velocity and arching shell trajectory.  You'll never reliably hit destroyers at the extra range, so it only helps you add some marginal damage against battleships and some cruisers that are far away.  If you really want to pad damage against ships that probably aren't going to die from it anyway, Demo Expert is your better choice.  I'd recommend going with Survivability expert to help you come out of those close-range destroyer brawls in good-enough health to still impact the remainder of the game.

I'm highly skeptical that WoWS ever gets to that point.  We're just now entering the beta phase for clans, which will just be token social clans for the near future unless I've missed some announcement on clan activities.  Even then, the slow rot or abrupt destruction (depending on your viewpoint) of World of Tanks clan wars and the tournament/skirmish scene leads me to believe that Wargaming either doesn't know how to grow and strengthen a gaming community, or they simply have a vision for end-game that's different from the 2011-2013 WoT system that was pretty damn successful IMO.

I completely agree with this assessment, the only reason I am holding out hope is that WG is not the developer, only the publisher. It remains to be seen where clans go in this game. If they follow WG's example, you're completely right.

So far it seems like the endgame is /shrug so far. Like what do you do at Tier X that is markedly different from the other tiers?

Play this song as I hit battle.
