Is that guy just really good at 3rd person shooting?

Hey guys

I watched a youtube video of a T37 kicking ass. Watching it I note that he does a lot of shooting in 3rd person, even at ranges where I don't even see a pixel of the tank he's shooting. I never hear him engaging his auto-aim, and still the dot does not waver on the enemy tanks, and is not centered on the enemy tank like it would be with auto-aim.

So, is he just really good at 3rd person aiming, or using an aimbot?

I don't know much about aimbots and his aim didn't move a bit strange at times, but a lot of his bounces looked like autoaim to me. From the couple of videos of aimbots, which I've seen, they adjusted the aim for weakspots on took into account movement. Both on the TOG and O-I the adjustment look limited, if any, to me v0v

Even if, by some chance, the server reticle moved around SO much, he still must have used Autoaim+ to engage auto aim. And that mod is illegal now.

But if he had used Autoaim+ you'd hear the crew voices when it engages.

I thought so too, at first, as in the beginning it said "Slobodna camera aktivirana" which means "Free camera activated".

However he puts it back on fixed camera at 0:40 and leaves it that way. Besides that you can see that the reticle goes to where he aims when he deactivates the autoaim.

Honestly though, who cares if he is using an aimbot or not...

The shot at the cromwell at 5:50 is a dead giveaway unless the replay was recorded in 3rd person(though this is very unlikely with the way the camera moves), you can clearly see the autoaim leading the shot for the player whereas regular autoaim would have aimed slightly behind the cromwell.

You always have to be suspicious if you don´t hear the crewvoice when someone activates his autoaim, though this sadly isn´t definitive proof since WG manages to somehow introduce new bugs into the replaysystem everytime they update the client, especially when viewing older replays.

It looked  like autoaim+ pre 9.16 since there is cross team chat. I did find it strange that the reticle stayed locked on the front of the tog which is not how autoaim+ acts.

Around the 8 sec mark, you can see "Ogre enabled, demo mode" in the lower right corner. A google search turned up an aimbot called ogre ninja. So unless there is some video capture software with the same name, I'm going with the aimbot and too cheap to buy the full version. 

It didn't look to me like it was helping him any more than autoaim+ would have and may have been worse than autoaim on that tog.

The part that kills me is that rather than disengage the aimbot and take the easy shots on the TOG, he is clearly trying to manipulate it into firing into the flat rear. Was definitely worth a good laugh watching him ricochet off the sides instead.

Its a pretty obvious aimbot, but who cares? It's WoT its not like an aimbot is gonna help you that much(case and point this guy). Guy just got lucky during this game.

yeah the aimbot does not seem that good or useful. He misses/bounces so many shots. Only reason he won was that the O-I manages to bounce off him.

Well I won't add on with this conversation for the video, but I will add that if you want to see a REALLY good player who 3rd person aims 95% of his shots, you should check out BigCheese256 and his videos.  His aimstyle is weird and can hinder him at times, but he still manages to prop up the bad areas.

Interesting. I thought it would have to be an aimbot (which clearly does not make up for lack of skill, as we can see). I was just curious if this was the case, since I'm not very familiar with how those work.

I like the part where he failed to pen the ass of a TOG several times due to autoaim and shooting on the move, then when the TOG started shooting back he went "oh shit I actually have to use my brain here" and resorted to manual aim and corner peeking.
