UK Light Tanks when?

Recommended Posts

So WG announced plans to introduce light tanks beyond tier VIII for the USA, Russia, France, Germany, & China.

Meanwhile, the UK light tank line pretty much, and since 2012, ends at the Crusader, at tier V.

Is there nothing out there viable for the UK light tanks beyond tier 5?

I've wondered about UK lights before, figured they must have something usable. Just did a quick search and found this: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/UK/Alvis_Scorpion.php

Maybe considered too modern? Dunno, seems like the 76mm version could be a tier 6 or 7 and the 90mm a 7 or 8 (in the current light tiering) if they buffed the speed a bit.

So, in typical WG fashion they will end the line with the Scorp-proto and fill it in with a bunch of bar napkin sketch tanks.  In all seriousness, a tier 6 brit chaffee would be a no brainer - it was a legitimate post war thing for several years that saw service in pakistan.

I think there is also a pretty easy way to make at least a bit fun out of light tanks in WOT (at least some).

Some light tanks in game are amphibious, and it would surely not break the game balance if they gave them 5-10 km/h speed on surface...Unlike the siege mode of Swedish TDs, which has the potential of disrupting game balance on certain maps, especially if the change the overmatch mechanics (cmon, binos and camo net active while moving, or even traversing...at least it is not back in vision meta days, so useful once in 5 games at best).

They could add a prep time like siege mode for entering and exiting the water...

While I really want high tier UK lights, I'm really hoping WG release more higher tier Japanese lights, with the late model chaffee as their tier 5 as it was sold to them.

But, in reality, I don't think so.
