Autoaim+ or Extended Auto Aim

Sorry for bringing this here but you just cant trust the wot forums for theses answer and Wargaming just wont answer my ticket.

 

I used to have Extended AutoAim installed; Can i still use it? Is it legal?

It's illegal. I don't have the link on me but someone asked and a WG guy said it's not allowed

Wasn't it declared legal many, many times? Did it change while I was away from wotlabs?

The old version where you could enable auto aim on tanks behind obstacles was declared illegal.

The creator of the mod has since updated it so it does not have this feature. As long as the version you have installed does not have it, you're fine.

WG fiddled with the rules for illegal mods sometime ago. The three things that came from it are:

1.) Same rules across all servers
2.) One week ban on 1st offense, perma on 2nd
3.) Autoaim+ is illegal

Not entirely a true statement. If the game had better features and incorporated what the community wanted, then mods wouldn't be required.

Crew stats, after battle stats, tank stats in garage (without having to click on tanks), things like that. XVM would be nice. Reticle mods. Having the choice to pick various set ups. Other than that, what is there really? Just take a look at some of the third party mods and incorporate some/all of the features into the game. WG may have to accept that WN8 is a thing and allow for it in stats. Just spitballing here.

The only mods that make sense are interface mods and for some reason there are quite a few players who like to change their contour icons, markers and reticles. 

Those mods are too diverse to implement into the game. All other mods are pointless and WoT would be better without them.

Half of the in-game interface we have today is directly derived from mods.  Does anyone really doubt that the community has pretty much always been miles ahead of wargaming on things like mini-maps, damage/direction indicators, garage utility, ping/lag indicators, etc.  WG's original product was very much 'gud enough for soviet potatoes komrad, why change?'  I have no real issue with mods, the success of league players on strict vanilla diets gives little credence to the 'mods are cheats' tinfoil hat mob.  

Its funny how in arguments like this (prem ammo, mods, tourney/CW payout, etc.)  there appears to be a definite schism between the NA server libertarianism and the EU server proletariat.

Yep, if you enjoy half of the newer features in the game such as tank filters, two rows of tanks, circles on the minimap, last spotted on the minimap, many features of the aiming reticle, etc please thank mod creators, especially the XVM builders for vastly improving the vanilla game experience by having WG steal their ideas and put them into the game.

Frankly I think that these people that rely on autoaim+ so much are complete idiots. I see people complaining on the official forums that "hurr durr I have high ping i need autoaim+" or "hurr durr im old I need autoaim+" its stupid. Its pathetic.

Ive never used it and I see no reason or need to use it. 

 

Vanilla autoaim does exactly what it says on the tin. You are aiming at a tank, right click, the gun automatically aims at it. Whats there to be improved on? Absolutely nothing.

Vanilla autoaim is fine. What's absolutely fucking retarded is that zoom out mods are still allowed. WTF. They give you a massive situational advantage over other players and still allow you to autoaim lock on the from behind cover.

I admit, having an integrated aimbot like autoaim in this game is pretty strange at first thought, but with all its limitations in its unmodded version, it's a good way to encourage people to use cover because it's so useful when peek-a-booing around corners.

You and I are able to poke around a corner and detrack an enemy, but can the average player? If nothing else, it's a pretty ingenious way of bringing down the determinant of skill for better players to a level palatable for all those bots and shitters.

Remember, if history tells us anything, WG doesn't care about the upper end of its playerbase and will sacrifice them for marginally more revenue. That's why you have arty in the first place.

Does CS or Quake have autoaim? So why should a slowpoke like WoT have it and that's beside the BS mechanic of autoaim+"2" or russian 152mm shells flying true from a moving platform over 600m. If you have the manual skills for that fine, if not learn to play and adapt.

 

And a removal of that function would also help to balance out many hightier meds - only true aiming skill would allow for running circles around other tanks in closequarters blazing away.
