Since we don't have team battles, we in RUST try to sync-in to the same random game. Most of the time we are on opposite teams (I kept track for 3 weeks and seems to be around 92% of the time) even when we tried to mix and match ship classes. This is probably a good thing since when it does work this happens. Fun, but OP.

What has your experience with sync-in been like in WoWS? Does WG actively look to split divisions that are from the same clan/fiends list? Wouldn't blame them if they did for randoms. Just curious.

You were gonna get a 3rd kill so we had you sank. 8)

lol I was lining up a good torpedo attack on the Missouri but stupid radar ruined it. I was excited too because I juked his main battery shot and I was like 'I'm going to live!' but then I ate an unlucky salvo from his secondaries. *shakes fist at RNGeesus*

One thing that prevents sync ins is that match maker tries to put the same number of divisions on each team. So if there are only two or three divisions in queue then the odds aren't very good for being the same team.  Sync ins will work best if there are a lot of other divisions. We've got enough people in RUST now that we might be able to try and sync three divisions, that should put at least two divisions on the same team.

I've also wondered if it would be better to try and sync one division with a group of individuals. Individual syncs worked for us in ranked battles before.

Might be worth a shot. Could end up with 4-6 RUST on one team doing it that way.

We accidentally synced-in three OMNI divisions once. It was fucking hilarious. However, we don't do it often because it's pretty cancerous and we all end up stealing each other's damage.

Just playing one 3 man division at T9-T10 can be pretty dominating. With Wargaming pulling unskilled people into T8+ games with their Campaign missions, you get a lot of base campers and single blob tactics players in a match. If 3 good players coordinate and get some help, the results are pretty devastating.

Our last match last night on shatter was like that. There was a north that did not have anyone at with all the players getting into a blob north of C, so we had 5 minutes of free points from the A cap, C cap was contested, but the people on red moved out of cap, so we had a and c and there was a giant scrum around B. All their BB's stayed 10+ km north of the battle sniping with no fire lanes. Our Division was east and wet of B clear of the BBs shooting at us. Our DD kept torping their CA's trying to enter b down a channel. I was in my Missouri, and 1 shotted an Ibuki from full health and a DD. The took 95 percent of a minotaurs health in 1 shot after popping off radar. to reveal 3 guys in smoke all 3 died. I think we did as much damage to each other in the cross fire as the enemy did to us. (stray torp and a shell or 2 as it was a crazy brawl) I ended up with 721k credits in the match. It was a total route. All their BB's effectively put themselves out of the battle.

Just a normal T8+ game.

We primarily do it when we have four people online. (Two divisions of two people.) Although I'm thinking it's better to either not sync or have three person division with the fourth person trying to sync individually.

Yeah,I believe that a  3 man div and single individuals syncing in might give us a better chance of getting 4+ people on the same team.

We tried the 3 man division and 1 man sync in last night and it worked fine. The sample size is 2 small, but that should work 50 percent of the time. Maybe more so depending on what ship the 4th guy uses vs what ships the divisiion is using. (Division uses BBs, 4th guy uses a DD or CA depending on queue density)

It's kind of a shitty way to game the system IMO.

Honestly if WG re-activated Team Battles or implemented Clan Battles we would do that instead. Right now we're just trying to find a way for a group larger than 3 to play together and have fun.

WOWS mm doesn't really allow sync ins. The mm wants to put an even number of divisions on each team. So unless there are more divisioned players in queue than individuals then more often then not the syncing divisions will be on different teams.

The only time a sync is worthwhile is when you have four people that want to play together, so you sync with a three person division and an individual.

You might say that they could always break into two divisions of two people. However mm treats two person divisions the same as a three person division. So a two person division has a good chance of going against a three person division. Which is why most people's two person division stats are not as good as their three person, or sometimes even their individual stats. There was a wotlabs thread from a while back that discussed the win rate differences between division size. I'll try and find out.

Found the thread. The discussion stats with Onboards post, second from the bottom, and continues into the next page.

Man, I should show up to WoWS more often...  This seems fun, and potentially game breaking, since it is only 12v12... ^_^
