Are you referring to the M41 90 prem or the Bulldog without autoloader?

Also, what are your thoughts on the HWK's potential?

LTG is a tier7 med on steroids. I'd keep it in your garage just to remind you that inbreeding is bad.

This is my favorite tier 7 light right now. It does play like a medium and everyone gives it a double take because it is so beautifully ugly. The low rider of WoT!

mfw an ISU ricochet off my turret cheek when I'm looking dead at him. I thought he had already fired >.<

HWK is pure dogshit because of the 630m/s velocity. It's incapable of doing anything but scout because of that. Were it to have 1k velocity like every other LT it would have the most well rounded stats of all the LTs at that tier. But nope.

The Sp1c was perfectly capable with 630velocity because it could peekaboo with the autoloader. But singleshot with trash reload? Fuck that.

Should I get LTG if I have type 62?

I really like her because she's got, er, a lot of "character" but premium tonks bring home the bacon.

The premium. The M41 tech tree edition gets a 76 iirc. As Schnitzel said above, 630 m/s is pretty heinous. It's really nice aside from that, but I won't keep it much past unlocking the PTA, even to 3 mark. If I'm gonna play a German tier 8 LT with bad velocity 90mm I'm at least going to get sick credits from the Blackdog.

T5: none atm, thinking of picking the elc again, or the leo for the memes.

T6: I don't really have many low tiers, the only 2 that are worth keeping at this tier are the type 64 (it's a premium, of course it's a keeper) and the t21 which I recently marked. I may think about the 59-16 or mt25.

T7: things start to get serious, 13 57 is extremely powerful now that it barely sees tier 9s, also it's hilarious for module damage and it trains my 13 105 crew. Type 62 has become not useless for once, it's a good scouty medium now. Heard the t71 is still good, might pick one up (I literally have a crew for any US scout)

T8: one tank to rule them all, the m41 90 is the only t8 light in my garage, the reason is simple: being a premium it didn't change, making it extremely good..

T9: atm I only have the RU and ltwt, I may swap the RU with the t49 when I manage to find a decent crew for it.

T10: Sheridan and amx 13 105, next to come is the t100lt because it's unique, and maybe the wz.. rhm? No thanks.

I had my largest turn around over the last weekend because crew retraining was discounted on EU. So for France =

tier IX  AMX 13 90 = has a four perk crew

tier VIII bat 12t = needed a new crew for this, so transfered old ELC three perk crew

tier VI AMX 12t = took the crew out (one perk) for ELC, and sold AMX 12t as no decent crew too hand.

tier V AMX ELC = original good crew went up to tier VIII, and now has one perk crew.

I thought I might need the Bat 12t for tier VIII CW mini campaigns as on EU they often feature a few days at tier VI, followed by a few days at tier VIII, before moving onto tier X. I am less convinced now as WZ 132 seems to be the dominant tier VIII scout.

Because I began to enjoy light tanks more as I played more games I already own AMX 13 57 GF, Type 64, Type 62, and M41 90 GF. My goodness the AMX 13 57 GF has gone from being a shitter, to well, being rather decent.

I think I will keep my 59 16, but may well sell the MT25, and T37. The crew perks in the later two are nothing special, whereas the crew in the 59 16 has had the support of the Type 64.

Don't have any light tanks from other lines, but really enjoyed the Chaffee and T37 and kept them. Bit sad to hear that they've been nerfed into the ground, guess will sell them to free up garage space (gotta find something to do with the crews I suppose).

I've been driving the Bulldog a bit in its new form (went for the top single-shot, the autoloader appeared to be trashed based on stats). It's still a good tank and competitive, especially when you get the hilarious situation of being top tier on Prok (back to back mastery games). The DPM is a bit on the low side, and you feel it when something fast that has more chases after you. Gun handling more than acceptable. Pen is reasonable, haven't had huge issues with it or needing to switch to gold ammo too much. Waiting for a sale to get the T49.

Lucky you. 15% Sale off this weekend for Tier VIII -X.

Another question.

Are the T71 and Type64 the most OP LTs tier for tier right now?

Played the 64 and it feels great.

I can't talk about tier X but the T71 is almost stronger than the buldog ever was. Same tier, 1900 DPM (effective) in autoloader isn't equalled until the 13/90 at tier 9. It literally is better than M41 outside of 160 HP, as the autoloader has a 20 second reload vs. bulldog's 36 seconds. It could probably beat it in head to head fight.

The Type 64 is very strong, but IMO in a tier with Cromwell B,  T34-85M and A43 that are mobile meds with equivalent DPM and 150-160 more health it is not heads and shoulders above those tanks. Think strongholds.

Tier 8: I haven't played all the LTs in this tier, specifically the Bat12. It seems decent from skill4ltu's stream and @SchnitzelTruck's testimony. The LTTB is amazing though, and I really enjoy the WZ-132 in its current tier. M4190 is solid of course. I put a lady crew destined for the RhmPz into the Hwk12, to train up some skills and finish unlocking the PTA. This will net them likely 4 skills before dropping into the tier X.

Keepers: M41 90, LTTB, WZ-132 without crew for now

First of all great list. I put a very similar condensed version as  a reply yesterday. I've always liked the LTTB and this version is a better.than 9.17, however it did lose 120 DPM in the transition. The bulldog with the SS now has 170 alpha, so for a gun perspective it is better with > DPM, 10 degree depression,  better velocity and better aim time. It also can carry 23 more shells which does mean something late game. The armor of course for the LTTB is superior, but I think this is really only relevant with lower tiers and derp guns. Overall the LTTB is a keeper because it is unique, but for higher tier matches one could make argument that the M41 single shot is better for a high level player. After playing the M41 autoloader extensively if that gun had a similar reload to the T71 it would absolutely be a keeper for Tier 8.

As a side note, for those who haven't grinded the French line, the 12T batchat represents about the worst game design possible. Arguably the worst tier 8 tank, and you need to grind it out 3 times to unlock the three branches coming from it. That's nearly 600K folks in a shitter tank, which to me is enough to cause folks on the edge to quit. Of the 70 or so tier 8 tanks, it is dead last in DPM and Health, and 50 tanks have equal or better than it's pathetic 380m view range (including the VK100P WTF @400m). We should have a consolidated thread on LT tank suggested improvements, but this tank is a candidate for a lower time between shots (say 1.5 secs) to make it play more like 13/57 and a buff to viewrange to 395-400m.

Speaking of which the 13/57 with the ability to mount vstab is a beast. It can effectively now dish out 720 damage reliably in 7 secs, which is equivalent to tier 10 single shot damage characteristics. I believe the 13/57 has also the best camo of the mid tier lights as well. Come to think of it, I wonder if the Tier 5/6/7 scout massive nerfbat was just a big money grab to make the premium lights really attractive. What not put that past WG.........

13 57 has shit for HP/T, its not even a contest on who is the slowest tier 7 LT when you got this in the ring.

not to mention 57mm caliber is just horrid, many of you will probably notice that you bounce a lot more usual int he 13 57 than say 131, well, turns out, having only 57mm that can't overmatch 20mm of side/rear/engine deck will cause a shit load of unintended ricochets that otherwise wouldn't happen.

But 13 57 excels at knife fighting with other lights, 8 shells mean 8 chances of critical hits, couple that with deadeye perk and you can literally wreck any low armoured tank you meet..

Ok, it's not enough to kill a full hp tier 8 light, but if you decide to yolo a full hp tanks you're doing something wrong. Not to mention it literally shits on tier 5s and 6s..

A lot of lights have wonky angles which can and will autobounce your 57mm pellets - and thats not even counting stuff like the LTTB which have enough raw thickness to stop your AP 9/10. It is very good against low tiers however.

Kept:

Tier 5: Leopard, ELC, T-50

Tier 6: AMX 12 (strongholds?), MT-25

Tier 7: AMX 13/57, Type 62

Tier 8: Blackdog, WZ-132, BatChat 12 (still need to unlock the mediums)

Tier 9: T49, Ru 251, T-54, AMX 13/90

Sold Chafee, M7, T21, T37, T71, M41, VK2801, SP1C, HWK, LTTB, Crusader, 59-16. The T-50 and MT-25 are on borrowed time - I pretty much ignored them the first climb up the tree, so giving them a chance for now. Almost bought LTG because it's so damn ugly.

(So many leftover crews, no idea where I'm going to park them all.)

I agree with everything Crab just posted.  I have the Rhm Pzw....it's super fun to drive...and prints losses.  I also have the Sheridan...and I win in it...go figure.  The 1390 is great as are the tier 7 Prems.  RIP T37, M7  I love you guys...but can't play you with all the nerfs.  27 extra garage slots means I can keep them to look at my 3 marked barrels though. :nofun:

Remember, if you sell your beautiful 3 marked tank you can always see it again by previewing it through the tech tree while enjoying the credits and clutter-free environment!

Thanks for the insights Crab/Others.

With all the Tech Tree T5 to T9 LTs in my garage at the moment and lots of garage slots, I am not divesting of any LTs yet as I reserve a faint hope that WG will un-nerf some of the old favourites and maybe buff some of the others.  Just casually working my way through them and moving the odd crew around.

I have pulled out the ELC for funzies and its now slow enough to get into trouble and not get out.  However, when running 20K gas is "drives" almost like the old one.  I threw on a v-stab just because, but in hindsight with less firing on the move and more camo snipe, camo snipe/relocate I am starting to think having the GLD or even a rammer may be the way to go. (Was running GLD, Vents, Binocs)

^ I still can't stand playing it. A shitty low alpha low pen needle gun at that tier is just so unreliable unless you're within 200m of your target. 1375 is far better.

When I play4fun I play LTs and I like having at least one LT from each tier so these are what I'm keeping so far:

3. Locust, pz 1c

4. Luchs (might buy it back)

5. T-50 (might buy it back, but I don't want to ruin my fond memories of long ago, so maybe Leopard instead)

6. Type 64, 59-16(3 marks so can't sell it, going to move the crew up)

7. T71 (holy fuck I already loved it and now it is better)

8. Blackdog (increased my HEP shell count for shitting on tier 6s and 7s), WZ-132, LTTB, Bulldog(3 marks so can't sell it, no crew)

9. T49, 13 90

10. T-100

I might sell my 54LW, but I have like a dozen empty spaces in my garage so there is no need to.

The Sheridan has a 1,45 aimtime or something silly like that (on the small gun) meaning it has one of the best guns in the entire game gun handling/performance wise. The only real problem seems to be that it's too big to really work as an LT. It plays more like a paper med a tier below, but gets rewarded with a pretty damn awesome gun besides the stupid, stupid pen. It honestly feels like an M46 on Steroids with a T10 MM.

The T49 is insanely good too, 90mm has two useable rounds now instead of just 1, and its mobility along with the pretty good gun (insane DPM too) makes it a pretty damn decent damage farmer during cleanups and flanks. This tank is pretty much the ideal LT for people who actually like playing LTs like more mobile mediums with a scouty role (the best way to play them :doge:). The Ltwt is also damn decent for this, and the bloom buff really helps it, but it's still too much medium with LT mobility and lacks depression and stuff that makes the T49 able to farm everything so fast and efficiently. It's a decent brawler though.

I have questions about the chinese lights, I played them both on test server and really liked them, but they killed the accuracy completely of the WZ-132-1, on paper it looks almost unplayable but I want word from people who actually played it. I never had time to test a 2nd time before the patch it when they revamped them heavily.

I dont understand the "hate" against the bulldog. Sure the black dog is better (not by much) but i still think it still is the best tier 8 lt non premium. I mean i have not tried it yet, but statwise it still looks the best.

@Kolni with all the LTs running around the t49 with the derp is the best choice atm. You get all of that 910 alpha  and over 9000 giggles.

T-54LT - Generic RUmed. Decent tank but completely boring. Feels like playing a T-44 that goes fast. By the time I finish grinding 250k for the tier 10 I will probably want to burn (or sell) it.

T49 - Glorious derpwagon remains. The 90 seemed fine for the one or two games I used it, but the 152mm generates too many giggles. Once again, WG should learn from this tank - giving it two viable guns that completely changes how the tank plays adds a ton of variety to the game.

AMX 13 90 - MUCH more pleasant to play with the gun handling buffs. It feels pretty solid overall and will probably stick around in the garage.

M41 Bulldog - Initial thoughts are that it's demise is overstated. Compared to the LTTB you have the same firepower with a little more mobility and some nice comfort items like 10° gun depression, 20 more view range, and higher shell velocity. The chassis is significantly worse though since the LTTB actually has enough armor and angles to generate random bounces even against high tier guns. Since I have spare 4 skill US crews I'll be keeping this around for a while to at least evaluate it further.

LTTB - When it was a tier 7 I couldn't handle the 3° or bad gun handling. Both of those have been fixed and this thing is pretty enjoyable. My crew in it is pretty garbage so I need to get it trained up quickly.

Type 62 - It still hurts me to click battle in this. Old wounds take time to heal I guess. It should be pretty decent now.

T71 - That pen nerf sucks because 145 is way less reliable on a lot of tanks, but since it wasn't changed or up tiered it is a damn good trade off. It also happens to have one of my lady crews so good work by me planning that years in advance.

If you like it then play it. Personally, I value the penetration and alpha on the WZ and the armor and small profile on the LTTB higher than the gun depression and marginally better DPM that you get with the bulldog. Plus, I have a Blackdog with HEP so... Go Me! Seriously though, my Blackdog shits on Bulldogs thanks to the HEP, especially if i can control the pace of the encounter.

The extra view range is not a factor for me either since I use very well trained crews and food.

Generally speaking, at least LTs have much more carrying potential.

I tend to disagree. Premiums, and buffed ones are better, sure, but in general the only thing that changed is matchmaker. And tanks with armor tend to profit even more from it imho. VKB and E75 are GOD tiers now.

Yes but we have to be honest it is not that bad or worse than than those tanks. It is at least on par so i dont understand this opposition.

It is faster than the black dog (higher accelleration which is important to get away asap) has way more gun depression and aim time comapared to the other 2 lights so it can play in so many more positions and snap/poke from hills. And that view range can help a lot
