Salute! I apologize if there was a poll like this already, couldn't find it.

Since LT stats got reworked, meta changed a bit, and the fact that most of them are collecting rust and dust, I'm doing a cleanup. Regardless of game mode (CW or Randoms or even for Personal Missions), some have to stay, some have to go.

What to KEEP?

Bat 12t is surprisingly a fun tank. It has the best camoflauge rating out of all the tanks.

HWK is also pretty fun. It's very similar to the Sp1C when it was at T7.

Bulldog isn't the walking jihadist tank it used to be, so it's also recommended.

LTTB is still fun.

Type 64 is a big meme that's fun to play.

Tier 6 matchmaking since the patch has been bad enough for me that I've cleaned most of them out of the garage. (I do have the Type if I need to do anything in that tier.)

I have yet to play much tier VI light tanks, and so do not feel able to comment on the tech tree ones. Type 64 was untouched and now able to mount vert stab = nice silver earning machine. I would be tempted to keep the 59-16 due to being able to train Chinese crews in the Type 64 and also I have the Type 62.

Tier VIII of the tech tree ones, my feel so far is that wz 132 remains the best alround scout, altho I enjoyed a few games in the bat chat 12t, judgement reserved on the others. LTTB seems good, but not really enough post patch games yet in it for me to say more.

M41 90 GF aka Blackdog, untouched from patch and still for me at least a good way to earn silver.

AMX 13 57 GF has gone from being complete garbage, to actually being rather amusing in randoms.

Type 64 master race. The only real problem with that tenk is that it runs out of ammo. T6 mm is kinda bad in my subjective opinion so the 30 rounds or something you have - thats not nearly enough to kill all those t7s and t8s. Ran out of ammo 2 games in a freakin row....

I'm impressed regular Bulldog is that low, wasn't it said around that it's the best overall scout after Blackdog, in fact being better at scouting than Blackdog?

How do non-prems fare compared to M41 90 and Type 64?

The best scouts at 8 are the LTTB and Hwk12

Maybe before the nerf where it lost its 10 shot autoloader, now it's just meh

Best dmg dealer and fun tank at 8 - Blackdog.

the premium light tanks were untouched by the light tank changes/nerfs, and thus remain very powerful and probably more so than ever

the WZ-132 still feels the same as it has always been, as a very lightly armored but mobile medium tank. no longer being under the shadow of the T-54 ltwt helped a bunch to this

You missed the best tier for tier non-premium light so far: the T71. It is amazing at tier 7.

BTW The bulldog is still ok..I'm expecting in some patch that the fix the autoloader to have similiar reload as the T71...it currently has same reload time as the old 10 shot autoloader.

The Type 64 is just so much fun to play that I make sure to do a few games each session. It's a good counter to the shitty grinding soul sucking gameplay of the TVP VTU.

The Blackdog is an absolute beast now. alpha (for a scout), DPM, and dat HEP round.  Just lovely.

On a related note, I really hope they buff the CDC soon so we get to see more of 'em around.  Beautiful HEP target but you don't see many these days. =/

Naturally the premiums are in a very good place right now because they now have normal MM and didn't get nerfed either. The Type 64 and AMX 13-57 even got access to vstabs that they didn't have before, so that's even better. But the kicker is that with new cancer-armor tier 8 heavies running amok in the same corridor meta, playing any mid tier tank that cannot produce at least 230 pen on demand can be a burden. All well and good to scout/support/flank, but all of these tactics depend on the team, which is a lousy gamble to make in the pubs.

As for the non-premium light tanks, the winners seem to be few and far between. But I have an especially hard time thinking of any at tiers 6 or 8. In the case of tier 6, the Cromwell and Type 64 have the market cornered. Most of the alternatives are playable but why bother when these two tanks exist. And in the case of tier 8, not so much that the black- :doge: is superior as the much larger problem that tiers 9 and 10 are a thing. Yes, light tanks have always had to deal with tier 9-10 games, but in the past the scouting role had relevance that has tragically died since then. In the current meta, tier 8 lights are put into the same boat as tier 8 mediums, which is not a good situation to be in. Their DPM is pathetic and they don't have the pen to deal with cancer-armor either. And I'm not seeing a decisive view range advantage, so I really fail to see the point of tier 8 lights.

But if its any consolation, I did keep my Bull- :doge: and I don't expect to rage-sell it any time soon. Yes, its current place in the meta is all but redundant, but mostly because I need to splurge on food to get decent performance out of it, which negates the profitability advantage of playing at tier 8 rather than tier 9 or 10. As it is with many things in WoT, if you're willing to make all your credits disappear then you can have nice things.

Well, now I've noticed that I can mount vstabs on the T64. Thx guys;)

Regarding the blackdog, I run it with food and still manage to do around 50k profit each game, so it's my goto go tank atm if I need money.

It just wracks shit with this hep rounds at Tier 6.

I'm really thinking about selling my LTTB. I'm a very new light tank player and have played only this line and have enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the LTG but at LTTB that enjoyment has withered away rather quickly. It feels like it can be a great tank but something is missing but I can't quite put my finger on it but it is just not there. I might hang on to it this weekend to get my x5 on it but then it will probably be gone.

I basically don't play any tier 8 light tanks right now. A couple of them are pretty solid, but the MM for tier 8 is so awful that it just isn't worth playing. I don't know if solo is different, but platooning them was pure torture. If things ever improve the LTTB and Bat 12t are pretty fun.

Solo is better.  As MM matches SPG, LTs, and TDs and then throws in meds and heavies to finish I have noticed (with LTs) you get a better balance of MMs that reflect (I presume) the way the 3/5/7 "should" or was desired to work.  Of course T8 meds and heavies (and platoons) still seem to be continuously relegated to T10.

I'm on the Bulldog and LTTB atm. Personally I find 3/5/7 sucks for a light. because theres a lot of expectation on you if you're top. Plus it puts a lot of expectation on the T10s when they're top, better hope you don't get tomatoes.

LTTB is good (and fun), but it feels like it's about to roll over when I take a hard turn at speed.  Doesn't have that hug-the-ground almost-hovermed quality you get from the Chinese lights.

Type 64 is the only tier 6 scout I'd consider a keeper.  I might have kept the 59-16 if it still had the autoloader, because it was actually really fun.  But the Type drops its trousers and takes a steaming dump all over the others at that tier.

I sold my HWK without ever playing it, haven't felt the need to buy it back.  Still grinding the WZ 131, so can't comment on the 132, but I have a feeling I'll like it.  But although I like the LTTB, the Blackdog is the only tier 8 scout I really play, and I don't play it more than once every couple of weeks now.  I played it a lot back when I was wretchedly horrible, and I can't stomach seeing the win rate I have in it, so I don't even like to go near it in my garage.
