A Hakuryu will cripple any lone ship short of a full AA specced Des Moines regardless of setup. King of the Sea is the closest to a competitive mode that WG has acknowledged (CWs are such crap, I have no idea why they didn't just do tier 8). Here is a link to the King of the Sea 4 semi-finals, game 1. I also think that tier X is a terrible place to put CWs, as CVs aren't balanced, Conqueror isn't balanced, AA stacking isn't balanced, Yamato lolpenning everything isn't balanced, etc. 9 hours ago, Jaegaer said: Sorry, not my opinion at all. Less number of viable tactics is almost always bad. In the current CW you see a rush for the off cap with one DD and a fast Cruisers often, this would be impossible with CVs around. All ships clumping up every damn battle would be super boring. It wasn't your opinion, I was voicing my thoughts on how CVs should be changed regarding vision. Take a look at the KotS video I linked to see what CVs are like in a competitive matchup (Don't even mention Haky, it's so fucking stupid).
BiggieD61 364 Share Posted November 27, 2017 My only thought about the Graf Zepplin is that there is no German CV line possible, no history of naval aviation. So even if the Brit CV's were less than glamorous, at least they could actually have a LINE. I understand that WG releases one off ships that will be orphans ( Blyskawica ), but CV orphan seems like so much work for such a paper project - they should have done Brit CV's instead. Madner Kami 405 Author Share Posted November 27, 2017 GZ is only such a big deal, because they completely fucked it up when trying to force it out the window, due to a gaming event in Germany. A posterchild for why you just should not rush and half-arse stuff.
Madner Kami 405 Author Share Posted February 8, 2018 New Test round for Graf Zepplin. This time around, it can choose between a 1-2-1 loadout with 8/5/9 planes per squad or a 2-0-3 loadout with 5/0/5 planes per squad. It also can choose between utilizing 500kg AP or HE bombs and either regular torpedoes or deep water torpedoes (which can hit only BBs and CVs), though why you should choose the later is completely beyond me, as the squads and torp stats are 100% identical whether you choose DW or regular torps. Whether there's a different drop-pattern involved, I can't say yet (hooray for having to go to work and seeing that too late). Also, a complete novelty: It has the hydro consumable now! I'm not sure what exactly they are trying to test this time around
Rodrigopine 184 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Saw one in my Khaba yesterday and his attempts at dropping me were not successful. In part I don't think he was leading me enough plus his planes felt a bit squishy as my AA was able to account for 14 of his planes. Naturally I burned him to death for his insolence.
