Soo... who got a Type 59 this Xmas? :)

Recommended Posts

I bought the 75 box special.

Over 42K in gold

Type 59

Lorraine - I sold it

2 tier 4 premiums - sold them both

about 3.5 million in silver

I'm going to do it again before it goes away.  I won't have to buy anything for a year.

Used my tier 8 discount to buy the M 46 Patton.  Got an O-I experimental for free and got ace tanker on the second game.  That's never happened before.

Should have kept the premium to get gold instead. Now you might get the tanks back.

I know, right? I’m enjoying playing it more than the Type 59. With the recent T-34-3 buff, it’s just marginally better (gun depression/handling vs alpha).

The best part of having the boxes is getting your level up and then filling out a collection, b/c it means you're then effectively running 50% boosters for XP, crew XP, AND credits 24 hours a day until the holiday thing is over:lhRHElp.png

I could just play my Loewe repeatedly and probably have enough credits to last for a long, long, long time.

Can confirm am in the 'no premium tank' cohort. Not even one of the small tanks. :(

Bought the 25 box option (about AUD50).

Didn't get a huge amount out of it, a few thousand in gold, bunch of credits, some premium time. Had rotten RNG to be honest, a bit salty.

That said, as someone else noted, one of the big advantages is that the sets allows you to get your boost right up for different nations. That means you can get some very nice XP and credit bonuses if you then manage to play a bit. I'm travelling over Christmas/NY but will be able to play a bit this week, so probably worth it for grinds and credit stockpiling.

I feel mostly like this about the whole thing

What a fucking joke by Quicky.  Any selective outrage you may express towards this topic is immediately made irrelevant if you go on to buy the product in any capacity.  It also makes it rather obvious why WG would be willing to sell these products - despite people complaining about the practice or the rates, people will still shovel cash at WG to get them, rendering their complaining pointless.

I was one of the first to purchase on NA (literally minutes after release). $200 net me ~ $600 USD of gold/unique premiums I don't own/credits/prem time.

I spent another $100 last night and I now have ~$750-800 worth if I bought everything separately ($700ish in gold alone 180k gold).

All in all, amazing value and I don't need to spend for the next couple years.

This means you can technically play type 59 with food and spam gold and still be in plus :PogChamp:

So I'm assuming these loot boxes are very much different than the ones you get just from playing for the holiday event? Assuming so, is it worth investing in these if I'm only making one WoT related purchase within the next several months?

depends, if you're planning on making a big purchase then yes absolutely, if you already own some of the prem tanks the gold value will go up by quite a bit (you can get 10k in one crate)

it'll also net you decent premtime (20-30 days according to most) and anywhere from 5-12 mil credits, for the cost of a fort knox this is very worth it in that sense, more and more with the prem tanks you can get along with already owning them netting you anywhere from 30k to 60k per 75 box package

if you're just in it for the tanks then it's a hefty price to pay instead... but the instant boosts on the christmas event to 48% is really nice and if you actually plan on doing grinding during holidays it'll end up being really beneficial (i ground out over 100k xp in a single stream session playing only T10)

Alright guys, to those making the decision about whether or not to get the loot boxes, here’s the rundown of what I got from 75 Traditional loot boxes;

-28,250 Gold through standard means (as in, the 1 random gold slot per opened box)

-1,200 Gold as compensation for a vehicle in garage (probably the Pz B2 that I had since before)

-4.7 Million credits

-38 days premium time

-1 emblem, 4 Czech inscriptions, 3 French inscriptions, 2 German inscriptions

-Tanks: T-28 F30, Sentinel, Type 59, and Type 59 (duplicate was turned into a Lorraine, which I’m very happy about as I absolutely loved the Lorraine at Tier 9, and it brings back nostalgia)

So yeah, I'm a bit more than content.

Did not get a Type 59, but after I sold the redundant T26E5 I ended up with 34K gold, 9M credits, 4 girl crew, big discounts on future tanks, about 30 days premium time, and a Skorp G.

Oh yes and a PZ B2 = seal clubbing time bois!

They are spreading rumors on the official forum that WG dialed down the rate of tier 8 awards after the first day. What does your anecdotal experience show as far as the payout from early Friday vs Saturday night?

I bought 75 boxes shortly after seeing you and @Kolni post about them and was very pleased with the results.

The final 75 boxes got similar results as my first 75 boxes (which was minutes after release).
