Object 416: How to play?

Just got this tank and grinding. Don't really understand how I should play it. Is it a good tank, and what should be my main strategy? As far as I can tell. it doesn't have armour? And everyone spams gold at me.

@kaneaaa careful you are starting to trigger @CraBeatOff and you are  starting to annoy other people too. You are not the only non native speaker and clearly your English is not that bad to understand how to do things right. 

To be clear here you can necro any tread you want people prefer that than opening new sections.

I dont want to be mean but you have to realize that even moderators have a life and it takes time to close/shift treads.

I'll translate, since I am a native speaker of English:  "I cannot be bothered to read the rules/guidelines, much less follow them, and when I get called out, instead of apologizing and trying to contribute in a meaningful way, I'll piss on the forum instead and pretend I was always too good for this place."

While we're at it, I'll add that, despite my being demonstrably a pretty average-to-crappy player, this forum has been a key part of my becoming a much, much less crappy player than when I first got here.  A near-demigod like @CraBeatOff has even taken time to toon with me and help me become a better player, and he hasn't bitched about my drag on his win rate, etc.  That's a consistent behavioral quality across many of the better posters and players here - not only a willingness, but a sincere desire to help others get better at the game and enjoy it more.  If you can't see that, then you simply haven't put in the effort to engage them.  If you can find that elsewhere in greater supply, then godspeed, but I'd doubt your chances.

It's ok I understand you are easily angered, and that the community in general seems to have this issue. Perhaps its the mentality of the gameplay I dont know, but in any case I will stop using the site and like I said on reddit they answer my questions and don't get cross with me. It's better that way. Thanks.

"When everyone else gets ticked at my behavior, it's their fault, not mine."  (I'm not angry at all, fwiw.  I mostly feel sorry for you.)  It's not your lack of command of the English language that inhibits your getting value from this site - it's your near-total lack of capacity for introspection and self-examination.

No one is easily angered. There are simple rules on the forum which keep everything easy to search and share knowledge. You seem intent on ignoring those rules despite people telling you numerous times what those rules are. This has nothing to do with your English skills but rather with being lazy. Feel free to migrate to other sites but I can assure you no other site features the same level of content and knowledge among the userbase. Wotlabs forums is what turned me from a guy who pulled 51% win rate despite not going above tier7 to a guy who can easily keep up 60%+ win rate up to tier9 (including tier9) and 65%+ on lower tiers. Reddit, on the other hand, has thought me nothing. The choice is yours

Consider this a parting gift, the Obj 416 is probably the best tier 8 TD.  Play it like that and you'll be fine, in my opinion.  It doesn't have any armor except for the occasional troll bounce so I wouldn't worry about gold spam. Feel free to throw 330 pen HEAT back at them. It's glorious. 

Gents, is that pretty much a fair summary of the 416 thread if the OP was arsed to find it.

@kaneaaa its not that we are easily angered, we just have very well established forum rules here.  A big part of the reason WotLabs exists is as a counter option to the toxicity and sperge posting on the main servers.  Another part is to serve as a repository of knowledge on a variety of topics related to this game.

If EVERY question and answer about the Object 416 is all in one thread, then that thread will serve as the touchstone of knowledge for the 416 forever for everyone.  When you search wotlabs and find the 416 thread, your search is over.  Its a deliberate strategy to compile knowledge in an organized way, unlike on the WoT threads where there are 1K topics on the BC 25t where the same question gets asked over and over again and is answered by mouth breathing cavemen.

Once you understand that organizational structure, the whole thing makes sense.  If somebody comes along and keeps starting new threads for well established subjects - it jeopardizes the structure and purpose of wotlabs.  Don't get upset, just spend the extra minute to search and post your question in the correct place.

I necro'd a thread on the Panther 88 this morning and had a Unicum response within an hour. The system works, just roll with it.

This. This is exactly what WoTLabs is about. Just like when you play badly, it's your own fault. The fact that you have inadequate forum etiquette is your own fault. True, we are not the most accessible forum, but we are closer to real life.

If, in my job, I get someone like you asking me questions that can easily be searched, I'll answer once or twice. The tenth time, you're bottom of my to-do-list. The fiftieth time, you'll be the main example of the person to ignore in lunch time rants with anyone whose help you might also need at some point.

Luckily, you only seem to be impulsive and lazy (and now defensive), so you strongly belong to the bracket of people that can learn from their mistakes.

Getting angry at you is waste of my time and it will only make my life worse; it is toxicity I do not need.

However you joined a community of people who have certain rules. Like in any community if you want to be a part of it you should follow them. If said rules annoy you or are not good for you then leave. No one forces you to stay.

Disrespecting these rules means not respecting the people in who are part of this group. Mistakes can happen, we are human, but you were told how to behave and how not to make said mistakes. You are either stubborn or as I have come to understand, you don't give a crap. Therefore you do not give a crap about us.

Don't try to play the victim here you are not one.

I feel like this was pretty clearly laid out. I feel like maybe it's worthy of moving to the newbie section and pinning. Watcha think @Private_Miros? Thanks to the rest of you all for expressing the purpose and norms of wotlabs so clearly. It's not internet normal, but like Miros said it's useful and closer to real life.

Reddit is probably the right place for him though, if he wants to ask repetitive questions with scattershot answers of dubious quality and further flood the searchable internet with dreck. 

Of note: this forum was modeled on the WoW Elitist Jerks forum. Slightly less strict, but same basic intent.
