I give up... (after 8 years)

The greatest mistery, to me, is how they managed to hire some of the most idiotic developers possible, who after 8 years of working on this game haven't figured out how to make a map. I dont want to brag but even I can understand a map is shit or not by just looking at the satellite picture. Yet they managed to gives us again Province and fuck Fisherman's Bay and Fyords.

I don't know what they pay their developers so this is purely speculative, but there is a quote that I think is applicable.

"if you pay in peanuts, you get monkeys."

the more patches they put out the more I want a rollback to some old version

They are so stupid that whenever they touch this game they make it worse. If they had left the game as it was in 0.8.6 or even 0.9.3 this game would have been still great. Idiots.

Old Wot with 4 trees with the tier 8 team battles was a legit fun e-sport, no physics and stuff meant less RNG, clear choices between AMX 50 100/T32/IS-3/KT depending on map etc.

Got to agree with most here, the past year(s), quite some changes made WoT worse. For me the MM change to the 3-5-7 favored template made the game alot less fun, especially as I enjoy armored heavies.

The various badly balanced armored tanks added in lately just added to the issue tbh. Because even the crap ones were tough to take on, even when played badly. That just kills the fun some more. I don't mind struggling against an armored tank that's been played well, but if see someone who has no clue about angles & he still gets to live doing stupid stuff, then blegh, you're killing the fun for everyone else involved, good & bad player alike.

And last bit,, the 1.0 map-pool. Before this, we had a rather large map-pool, so you'd have a nice variety of maps to fight on, lessening the sting of bad maps. But since 1.0, the map pool is reduced so much, you just see the same maps time & time again.

Been playing less & less myself. Most fun out the game I get by the KV-4, but it is fighting WoT on hard mode that. Still winning aplenty with it, which makes me question player quality in T9 & TX tanks. Maus used to give me alot of fun (even before they buffed it), but darn, TX got ugly the past year (the new (russian) TX tanks, the reduced map-pool, the big reduction on getting grand battles, the tier 11 tank introduced). Midtier used to get me alot of fun as well, mainly due to the faster games & the diverse map-pool, but that got killed off. Still having fun from time to time. Lowtiers never appealed to me.

You can pay very little and get smart people if your company is a place people like because of what it stands for and because it's nice to work in.

Yeah I don't know about your arty hatred, I sort of think limiting each team to 1 arty would more or less fix the issue. Still, anyone camping without arty is punished, and you're generally up HP if you bring an extra scout, compared to your opponent, on most maps.

They simply killed the game with their greed. They thought they had something totally finished, a complete product, then took their best people off their complete product, and now they'll never ever make as much money as they might have. Mostly, killing competitive play is what caused the fallout. Can't understand it, just have to accept it. Issue is, nobody has a similar game. WT is not good, sorry. In 50 years, this won't be an issue, 2013 WOT will be available on your phone, but today, it's a travesty.

I honestly think it's a pride issue. They have so many fucking shitheads with 0 fucking clue, who want to tell us the best way to play a fucking tank. I mean, planes in WWII proved how OP they are against tanks, why revisit the matter?????

Didn't WW2 prove planes were good at killing everything that supported the tanks, but not actually anything tough provided it didn't float?

On the historical accuracy note, I'd argue not respecting certain tank guns, particularly their own, really fucked them fast.

D-10T, D-25T, etc, are fairly powerful guns, the D-10T is directly equivalent to L7 and the D-54 has ~33% more power at the muzzle than L7 or D-10T. IS-3 didn't need to get a 'BL-9' to be credited with 225mm penetration; D-25T did that with AP shells already. BL-9 is like that just with a shit ton more power.

Because of this love for the 390 alpha L7 family it kinda fucked the diversity of guns at higher tiers.

T-55A should be tier 10 I think, give it an APCR as standard.

So, how this relates is, SU-100's gun got shafted.

SU-100M1's gun was accordingly just not good enough.

SU-101 could have stuck with a D-54 and been relevant but lol no its WG

T-44 could have had a 'cool unique gun based experience' but instead feels just like the other tier 8 mediums, and relies on gold

T-54 relies on gold

Object 430/Object 140/T-62A somehow became DPM spam tanks

In World of Tanks the bullet physics work against how angled armor interacts with bullets. This means armor angling is less effective than it is in real life, and less effective than the designers would presume it to be costing the tanks in design compromises.

For instance, T-54 invests over 50% of its weight in armor. That is 'heavy tank' levels.

What does this look like? In real life, angling your 80mm sides at 30* from center, is ~200mm effective. Real life also has things like 'the guns are better' but this gives an impression.

Also IRL, IS-3 is frontally immune to 105 L7, so suck on that NATO plebs.

Gold ammo isn't really needed 'realistically'.

I know some people, after quitting WoT, moved to WarThunder. Are you planning to do the same?

even warthunder is same, they do add great ass features but in most dumbass way they can think to fustrate players.
