Ah shit, forgot about the recent patch. They were only last month too.

I'll find some more and send them.

Ok, got some games from today @Kolni:

T-55A

This is a game that i had no idea how to push. Our left flank were really slow pushing as they had a couple of fast tanks take some positions early and then our entire heavy push basically stalled because they were scared of pushing into them. Meanwhile, our right flank was basically empty, and as such I didn't want to push towards the cap unsupported. I basically peaked and camo sniped until dying (I got fucked up by arty towards the end otherwise i could have got maybe another 2 shots out). Your thoughts?

Airfield is cancer, and I had a shit spawn so couldn't go to the ledge. Again though, I thought I was too passive and interested to see when/where/how I could have pushed the pace more? We won because the enemy was shit, not because we were good.

Again, despite the damage I feel I was too passive and got pretty lucky (apart from the fire at the start). I wanted to push my flank but was worried about base campers and getting rekt quickly.

when the cax and leo1 rotated from 1 line on steppes you should have rotated into 1 line to keep the game going because then you would have tank advantage and could prolong the game since you had teammates to reset and that you were going to die if you didn't move anyway

Thanks man, I really appreciate the review and the time taken, and above all the feedback.

Standard B - I was hesitant to push into the Jadg and Swedish meds the other side of the hill on Airfield as I was worried either of their two TDs had relocated to the balcony. I actually thought they would win that fight as well, I was in the middle of rotating when the tier 8 VK suicided off the hill and I spent a clip on him - shooting him was mostly luck, although I was rotating to deal with that flank. On the Jagd I spent all 3 shells rather than reload because I thought he'd rep his tracks before I reloaded/waited. Agree, that was poor micro. I think I got 1 of the 2 blinds into the balcony, but there was a period in the mid-game where I felt useless - glad you said there wasn't much to be done then due to the flow of the battle.

T-55A - I just fucked up. I didn't go 1/2 flank first as I tend to leave that unless i'm in a heavy or top tier. You're right ,  a full minute driving to a position you can always fall back to later is a waste of time. I will consider that next time. In terms of not rotating from the hill near the cap, i'll be honest - i didn't even consider it. I thought our 1/2 flank would fall (i wasn't paying attention enough to see the push), and I thought my hill was the best chance of damage. I did try and fall back but too late, and the arties/the FAME Leo rekt me so I only did one more shot. I got lucky with them driving into me, but I did expect them to push into the hill as they had less tanks there. I was very, very deliberately passive there as the initial flank deployment screamed loss, and I knew we would be outnumbered if I pushed the cap. I was too passive/unaware though, I completely agree.

Progetto 65 - This was hard to watch back. That early game I was such a pussy (the fire did trigger me, and I was determined to make it to the end game). But more than anything else, I was so fucking indecisive. It was cringy watching it back. Once the FV died I should have gone behind the church - instead I drove around in circles like an idiot. Again, I was too passive even once I got there with the E100. I got lucky with a lot of my damage there tbh.

Conclusions

I'm too passive. I think my playstyle leans that way anyway, but I take it too far. I think I need to shift my focus from 'where will damage come to me' to 'where can I go to seek damage'. I feel like I've got so many mental scars from past shitty games/overextending that i've over-corrected sometimes. I feel like I can be passive-ish whilst still being aggressive when I need to/pushing at the right time. Looking forward to seeing you play the T-55A and 50/51 aggressively as I feel like both (and especially the 2nd) are hard to play super aggressive.

Above all else though, I am indecisive. Like, massively so. This is linked to being passive - I am ultimately worried about overextending - but instead of just choosing one option I dally. I did it in all 3 games, but especially the Prog game. Do you have any tips for this (beyond just picking one position and pushing)? I feel like if I could be more decisive in all 3 games I could get 1k+ in each of them. I feel like positioning/aiming/micro when I get somewhere I'm usually ok, but it is the wider decision making that lets me down. My problem seems to be the macro, not the micro.

If no one else takes you up on the "first 5 games get a review" I might have to submit a couple more replays . . .

Honestly, i feel like i've been so much more consistent since I switch my focus to 'where can I get damage' rather than 'where will damage come to me'. So far, better games on average, with a higher floor but lower ceiling. Maybe small sample size, but I need to raise that ceiling. Will focus properly on it after the campaign.

Ok, fair enough.

These are both a couple of defeats, where I tried to be aggressive but generally my teams either let me down (Ghost Town) or melted too quickly (Malinovka).

I think i've improved being passive (although Malinovka I stayed on the hill too long), but you tell me.
