Bourrasque, Tier 8 Premium MT (Marathon)

Recommended Posts

Now that I’ve got my win rate up to a blistering 43% :feelsbad:I’m with @tajj7 on the gun. If the Lorr gun was actually effective at medium and long ranges I’d think otherwise. 2 seconds exposure vs 5-7.5 for an effective engagement in tier 10 games is a big deal.

8 battles so far in

2982 dmg
446 assist
averaging 2.57 kills per game

Its a 0 mistake tank, whereby it can flourish like no other the more skilled you are as long as the MM isn't fucked against you. However, it'll punish mistakes like a fucking boss. Camo is fantastic, and the mobility in a straight line is fantastic.

But, if you dont pay attention to your opponents elevation you can get fucked
If you dont pay attention to your traverse, you can get fucked.

If you ambush someone within 100m, they can get fucked

You're a mid range ambusher, and a great scout when Left to Right mobility doesn't matter.

8/10 if you're a skill player
3/10 if you're a pubby

I absolutely cannot trust this gun at all, it's so damn derpy. It's honestly so derpy that I expect to miss/bounce/no damage one of the two shots and at that point I might as well play the Renegade or something since at least with that tank I don't have to wait 20 seconds to fire again

Out of interest what is everyone running in it? I think I am upto 57% WR or so after 120 games just marked it (MOE reqts on EU for it are quite high due to it being played a lot currently) I am running food, Vents, Optics and Stabs.  No ELC, I think Vents is the better overall option.  I really really like it, derpy gun and all.  Even against T10 I dont feel at a disadvantage, though I am running all Gold with 4 HE just in case.

Running VStab/Vents/Optics as well, although I'm not running food because this tank is too fragile. I'm also sitting at ~57% WR in this thing although I expect it to go down after a couple more games. It's a great carry tank but if you get caught out, you get shut down super hard.

I'm pretty much a quintessential pubby with my Green Bay Packers stats (Green and Gold), and I would definitely rate it higher than 3/10. 23 battles in, it is my highest dpg tank, and one of the few with a positive death ratio.

It absolutely dominates Frontlines. Filthy.

I dont think it does.  For one very good reason - the amount of Progettos that you see in FL and that thing is the death of this.

I mean, obviously Progetto shits over any tank, but this is very fun to play. I've been alternating between both to farm General, but I'll use the mode to actually grind crews later in the week.

Only downside is you still need to gold spam in this, whereas Lorraine/Progetto you don't.

I didn't find it that good in FL. Gun is a bit too derpy for all the long-range engagements and unless you fire gold all those heavies will give you troubles, even side on (hello Defender). My main issue with it, however, is the awful turning speed. Since I play a lot of light tanks in FL (and Progetto, I'm not an idiot) it feels even more sluggish in comparison. Since I have only one decent French medium crew I'm keeping that in the Lorraine for that last minute clip late in game to snag General.

Haven’t had a cursed tank in a while: 59 games, 39% winrate. Just played 4 games for 4 loses with 2831 dpg and 1464 assisted. Tank is so much fun I’m almost past caring (emphasis on almost).

Good idea, might pop the crew into the 40T to at least get the training benefit from FL

Does alright in Frontlines, but the accuracy can hurt, the Renegade has been surprisingly effective for me in Frontlines.

This thing is cancerous. The bloom stats are stupid low (0.1 move and turret) and a two round burst is basically the optimal gun type aside from the fair and balanced autoreloader. They just drive around snap shot dunking everything with pants-on-head alpha. I'm seeing players with just stupid numbers above their other tier 8s.

Yup. Between it and the prog it's clear wg don't have much of a clue about what they give away.

eh idk about snapping, its not very effective at firing on the move/turning the turret in reality.

not saying its balanced by any means, being able to dump 720 into someone so fast and so often is broken when combined with its mobility and camo, but the aimtime is aids. especially at long range.

i myself hold 2900 dpg. which is better than most my 8's at around 2400/2500. so yeah its strong.

To back up your claim, the 3-mark and mastery reqs for the tank are really high, I've driven the tank a lot and I still don't have a mastery on it, although I can probably attribute that to only good players playing the tank (It hasn't been sold yet after the marathon, right?)

That said, I have a lot of instances where one of the two shots just not landing (bounce, miss, track, etc) and it halves your damage output quite literally and it stings a lot. You need a lot of patience when using the gun on the tank (bad accuracy/aimtime and mediocre pen). The fall back of mobility/camo/vision works well if my shots just aren't landing. I'm hoping stats will even out when more when pubs buy the tank because they see good players use it and they drop the numbers.

I got the bourassque for 80% off with the marathon, but haven't played it much.  The gun is unbelievably frustrating for me.  Even when the tank is completely still and I'm fully aiming my shots most of them are missing by miles.  I've watched YouTube videos where people have these amazing high damage games and they are hitting 70%+ of their shots where they don't fully aim, yet if I try that I'm lucky if 10% of the shots even hit the tank I'm aiming at.

I'm using my 5 skill BC 25t crew in the bourassque and the gun handling and hit percentage feels worse than the 122mm on the tier 7 IS heavy tank .I've tried different combinations of equipment, but I'm struggling to have my shots even hit what I aim at.  Meanwhile, one of the recent days I was having issues with the bourassque, I played a battle int he Lorr 40t, which supposedly has much worse gun handling than the bourassque, and that gun felt like it was shooting laser beams in comparison.

My hit percentage in the bourassque is between 63% and 64% when I look at my stats.  The lorr 40t is above 75%.

I even tried the mod that shows both the server reticle and client reticle and wait until the server reticle is fully aimed before shooting and the shots are still going anywhere except where they are aimed with the bourassque.

The problem with the Bourrasque is not with the bloom, its with the dispersion accuracy and aim time. I actually don't even run VS on mine, instead I run food+vents. It is best played at close range, for sure.

Curious, what are the other 2 equipment pieces you slot in?

Guessing optics plus something. Once equipment goes on sale I'm aiming for an irm, optics, vents. May swap the vents for cvs just for the pocket light memes.
