Alright, have @Snoregasm2, @Spineeand @TheTrojanWarrior to record during the weekend, as I'll look to have them all finished and uploaded by tomorrow - then I'll take a days break or two from recording as it's quite time consuming but keep posting your replays and I will start going through them from first to last again - just gonna take a day or two off as I have decent bit on my plate atm.

As requested man, 5 in the Leo Pta and 5 in the Leo 1. All played back to back in the same session, save for a couple of Standard B games when I was waiting for tanks to get out.

Overall, my point stands - how did I do 500 less DPG in the tier 10 compared to the tier 9? How the fuck can you farm dmg in shitty all tier MM with EBRS, arty and shitlord TDs?

I've set the games out below so they're easy to comment on. Thanks in advance man - no criticism is too harsh. I've tried to analyse my own gameplay below a little, but looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Leo Pta.

Game 1 - Murovanka

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311638#murovanka-snoregasm2-leopard_prototyp_a

I derped the last shell but otherwise felt like I did what I could? Top on dmg, 2nd on XP.

Game 2 - Glacier

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311639#stats

Missed some early dmg because the Progetto pushed me like a bot, but otherwise ok. 2nd on dmg, top on XP.

Game 3 - Ruinberg

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311641#ruinberg-snoregasm2-leopard_prototyp_a

Played fairly passively as it was a tier 10 game with the shit side for the field (they were all tier 10 games actually - shitty MM). Top on dmg, top on XP

Game 4 - Kharkov

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311642#kharkov-snoregasm2-leopard_prototyp_a

No stats as I left after getting killed. I got 2k dmg (some blind). Went to shit as I got blinded twice, FML. The T95 who I bounced went on to get 8.6k dmg and carry.

Game 5 - Ghost Town

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311643#ghost_town-snoregasm2-leopard_prototyp_a

Arty raped me at the staart because of a cunt yolo scouting EBR. Still got top on dmg, 4th on XP, but I freely admit I had to play like a bitch to get the late game farm.

Overall:

Wins - 3 out of 5

Dmg - 3,565

Assistance - 451

o55u6JI.jpg

Leo 1

Game 6 - Karelia

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311765#karelia-snoregasm2-leopard_1

Made a stupid mistake and died to the T57. 2nd on dmg, 4th on XP.

Game 7 - Live Oaks

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311767#live_oaks-snoregasm2-leopard_1

It felt soooooo hard to get dmg here. This is a classic game of "WTF do I do at tier 10?". 2nd on dmg, 2nd on XP.

Game 8 - Serene Coast

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311768#serene_coast-snoregasm2-leopard_1

LOL at how quick my team melted. Also, i swear I should have killed the TVP - no idea where my shot went. Shitty ROFLstomp against us. 2nd on dmg (with 2,499 nice memes) and top on XP.

Game 9 - Ghost Town

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311769#ghost_town-snoregasm2-leopard_1

Again, I was completely lost as to what to do here. Our team melted and we lost all positioning. Tried to snipe but had no chance. 5th on dmg, 2nd on XP.

Game 10 - Himmelsdorf

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5311772#himmelsdorf-snoregasm2-leopard_1

Made a bad peak early on, played probably too passively after that. Pretty shit map and MM for a Leo, although the other Leo did well and snacked on an afk TVP at the end. 2nd on dmg, 2nd on XP.

Overall:

Wins - 2 out of 5

Dmg - 3,047

Assistance - 768

Thanks a lot for your review, kolni! Sadly I am probably way too old to expect any significant improvement in mechanics, but otherwise there are a lot of points for me to think about regarding the positioning, target selection and proper amount of aggression. I guess my poor mechanical skills makes me somewhat apprehensive of being too aggressive, as I am reasonably afraid that simply rushing to confront the biggest blob of enemy tanks will result in me being killed instead of me farming them all.

Best game I had recently in the T57. I love this tank but I really struggle to make it work early game. I generally try lurking until someone makes a mistake, then killing them for it. unfortunately I don't get enemy teams this incompetent most of the time. I find that the T57 really shines when I can keep all my HP until mid to late game and it often forces me to be more passive than I like. By my admittedly low standards this is pretty good.  Tear me apart. Tell me how bad I am at pixel tanks.

Cards on the table, I love my T95. The Doom turtle is so much fun. Most of the time. Not on chairfield. Not with arty scum. This was a carry for my platoon mate and I that fell through. How could we have played the map better? were there serious mistakes that could have been avoided?

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5314088#airfield-echo9835-t95

A short list of AMX 50B games where I didn't get spanked by a Jagpanzer or a deathstar 3 minutes in. I like it for the same reasons as the T57, but with SPEEEEEEEEEEEED! None of these are ace tanker, but they show my average when I play well. When I play shit I tend to die right away.

Played these 5 back to back:

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5307415#kharkov-spinee-object_277

I think my mechanic knowledge is relatively good. The two biggest problems that have crept up on me again is using team lists, both mine and enemy team, in order to decide what positions are effective upon deployment. Additionally, a lot of times my indecisiveness in the mid to late game in terms of positioning can cost me to be late to key positions (Which you see in the first game actually), health or damage. I think this comes down to the fact that I generally don't like to make plays until I'm absolutely certain of where enemy tanks are that can affect those plays (Unspotted TDs) etc., so I'd like help on this too.

Edit: Removed a 5A replay that was just a straightforward W key win and added another 277 game instead.

Decisionmaking is your biggest issue. You simply take too long dwelling, when you are sure however they are generally good decisions. Studzianki, Serene and Kharkov show that pretty well. You have the really long streak of inactivity on Fjords that was super bad for you tempo-wise. You don't value time, tempo or map/tank pressure highly enough as an enemy or asset either. Not much needed there though just a little bit less caution and more confidence would do you wonders.

You're not going to get enough experience fighting this way where you only take advantageous engagements. It makes you play in a calm and methodical way - it's easy to understand what you want to do and the decisions are often the right one, or at least a good one even if you missed out something better. But time is a factor and so are mechanics in this process and if you want to elevate your gameplay further you need to be able to reasonable assume that you have a mechanical advantage on your enemy and take that into consideration as well when making decisions. Eventually you're gonna run into situations where you compete with your teammates for damage and there you need to quick to decide to not miss out on free damage that other people are going to gobble up instead of you. Against a good player this also makes you super predictable going into the fight  - if you're reliant on damage tallying up in the manner you play right now you're going to get jack shit in steamrolls as the opposite for those games is true. Taking your time and purely reacting works most games and is a working gameplan but for the ones that don't it really sucks. Flick the switch, know when it's time to leverage an advantage as hard as you possibly can and when slow and steady wins the race. You're going to need to learn how to play this way eventually as you need to know what's about to happen in them to keep ahead of pace. I don't exactly thrive in steamrolls but they are not a problem when it comes to finding damage. Proactive gameplay works differently as you make set plays and adjust as you go, making very many assumptions on way there. You're decent at those assumptions but it's to no benefit as you don't make them in time to keep controlling the game. Work on pacing, don't be in a passive position for longer than 10 seconds if it holds no value. As in: if you can't answer "why am i here" and "is there a better place to do what i'm doing?" with a why and no in that order then your position is not useful. You don't have to be aggressive or do something risky, just make sure that you always at all times know why you are doing what are trying to do and if you find yourself forgetting it you just grind until it's part of you.

Regarding openers on maps without micro-spots I'd just say dare to try new things when you see a teammate/enemy do something interesting that warrants investigating and if making a set play you want to do normally you need to try it into different matchups to see if it works. Did it only work because you were top tier or only because you're bottom tier and with a large enough HP pool in relation to you for the opening to be good etc. If something's off with your general response to something (you keep taking damage for it, getting spotted in bad spots, needs a certain spot to be unused for spot to work etc) and just add it to the list of things I should keep track of as the older stuff will become household, but the grind never stops. Meta is fluent and so do you have to be to follow it well, usually spots don't go "bad" but they do tend to get figured out. Once your opening isn't generating enough information/spotting/damage which is super important early on you might want to rethink it. Start off with "where is free damage I don't have to be spotted to deal" and see if you can turn that into a good opening and what alternatives you have past that. Those options generally tend to be the same for all reactive plays. Proactive openers warrant a closer look every time you think you're making one, very rare to see new ones on any map older than 2019 these days as both sides generally just shake hands to the either diagonal, horizontal or vertical line of map control and play to it even if the dynamic of the map would change heavily with minmaxing and it's hard to really take over a map in that kind of state without starting small and building on what works.

I find it so weird looking at Kolnis min graphics, it's like watching 2014 WoT again lol

I'd love to have you review my replays. It would be great to get your insights on how I could improve. The only issue is that I've barely been playing recently.

I'll look tonight when I get off work (in about an hour and a half here) to see if I have a 5 game session that I could upload. Would you be okay with battles from multiple sessions, or would you prefer just one session Kolni?

If someone else hops in here with replays before I upload mine, oh well.

it's just how i'm used to playing the game

started off on minimum settings and i don't find the game to be more enjoyable with it maxed (more distractions only really)

the foliage density toggle is specifically used that way to be quicker at double-bushing

dont worry, i'll close the entries so you don't have to hurry

you can upload whatever you want, but they should represent your skill level in some shape or form as if you cherry pick better games it'll be me ending up giving you advice you're not really going to make use of, try to have them close to your average

(snoregasm's a bit of a special as he's already good at the game so i asked him to do so because of consistency and specifically working on tier 10 issues compared to his tier 9 gameplay and then you kinda need sessions over stray games)

My streamlabs recordings have corrupted thrice now recording these rendering my mood very, very frustrated - the 1 hour 55 minute  analysis for @Snoregasm2 just ending up gone really pissed me off, reinstalled it and everything seems fine now at least but I'm really pissed I didn't notice this until the very last second watching them after uploading -_-'

I have two of @TheTrojanWarrior's games that somehow survived before the program went bonkers but I just don't have the time to re-record this many games in my free time on a day so I'm sorry to keep the other's waiting but I just don't have the time to re-record ithem until later, I will upload the two games and complete the last 3 (again for the third time) for you tomorrow and then I will use friday evening to go through Snoregasm's and probably going into a bit more detail than I did my first time recording it to make up for all the waiting

I'll be doing 1 person a day until finished

Ah shit that sucks man - I can't believe you're still persevering after all of that. I'm super grateful that you are though - also, 2 hours of analysis is insane! I'm really looking forward to it - no criticism is too harsh, and there must be a lot of feedback with that runtime - so I'm sure it will be massively helpful to my development.

I'm just in the middle of watching @Spinee's replays and then I'm caught up - even watching other's gameplay in tanks I don't play too often is beneficial. Definitely trying that auto-aim EBR tip when in close quarters!

Sorry for the late reply. I ended up staying late at work last night and tonight. Thank you for reserving a spot for me Kolni.

I don't have too many good replays. Most of what I have are Ranked or CW, which is all I've been playing recently. I also have a few other pub games, but most of them are either easy farms where there's not really anything to learn, or games where I played horribly and can already spot my own mistakes.

Four out of five are in the Standard B. Kind of unfortunate since it won't show how I normally play. I tend to play much more passively in the Standard B than in most other tanks. Also, all of them are tier 9, which is even more unfortunate.

First, Standard B on Mali: http://wotreplays.eu/site/5317071#malinovka-churchill50-prototipo_standard_b

Took a chancy shot early on the Rev. Not sure if it was worth it. Staying out that long for the T-44-100 kill was risky since I knew I was proxied by the E50M. I should've noticed the Emil I sooner and gotten out without taking damage. Tunnel-visioned on the Rev and missed a chance at the Strv S1. Risky pokes on heavies.

I do feel like I made the right play ignoring the E-100 and getting down the hill.

Then, Type 61 on Paris: http://wotreplays.eu/site/5317072#paris-churchill50-type_61

Standard early paper med play. I was super indecisive for a while, especially after killing the Emil I. Not even sure what I should've done differently besides taking mid earlier.

Erlenberg from north spawn: http://wotreplays.eu/site/5317057#erlenberg-churchill50-prototipo_standard_b

Pretty standard initial position. Pushed across the river when we won east. Totally missed a chance to clip the S Conq out that hurt me later on. Probably shouldn't have pushed back across the river. Then I should've just pushed past the 257's alley to get away instead of hesitating. I was expecting my Leopard's to do something from their camping position, but they were useless.

Redshire: http://wotreplays.eu/site/5317058#redshire-churchill50-prototipo_standard_b

Better clip management could've probably netted me another 1k damage. Other than that, standard medium tank mid play on Redshire.

Finally, Mountain Pass: http://wotreplays.eu/site/5317060#mountain_pass-churchill50-prototipo_standard_b

Missed easy shots early on, got a little too aggressive south and could've been farmed for that, fell back way too far, failed to notice we were capping out until it was too late. Overall, a horrible game.

Thanks for offering to do this Kolni. I just wish I had better replays to offer. These ones are kind of sad.

I wish I had a decent tier 10 session to upload, but all my tier 10 sessions are from last patch (since then I've just been playing CW and Ranked). Plus I'm now horribly out of practice, which shows in everything from decision making to aiming.

Even still, I'd love to hear your thoughts on those replays.

Snoregasm's PTA replays are recorded and uploading. There was something weird with one of Trojan's replays because it keeps killing my recording software when I open it up (recording but it can't record the WoT.exe window even though I can see it just fine, was super weird). Redownloaded it and it's working fine now after a quick check, 2/5 games recorded there. Will record the remainder of his tomorrow along with Snoregasm's Leo 1 for more of an analysis regarding gameplay between the two tanks rather than minmaxing the actual games themselves to see if there's something to be done to help out with the tier 10 struggles.

The PTA games wound up taking an hour and I think a two hour video is a bit much to do in a single sitting, so I decided to wait with the Leo 1. I have already watched them once though and already found some pointers that I think are useful so it'll probably be a bit easier the second time around to create better analysis.

I've decided to really get back into shape at the game and meet my PTA DPG goals so I will likely be taking a day off between recordings to give myself time to play on my free time as well as they're generally around an hour and another hour of not being able to play because of the upload. Not to worry though as I enjoy doing these a lot and will keep at it until completed, just other things I also want to do that will eat up my free time pretty quickly.

Snoregasm's got blocked by copyright as a song was apparently a nono from the mix I listened to.. great.. I'm gonna try and see if YT's able to mute the music without muting me (is possible) but otherwise I will likely have to mute the bit (it's about 2-3minutes) and I'll have to fill in the gap somehow..

ThezdSo.png

Hopefully it works and I don't have to do more work.. why can't I ever catch a break :feelsbad:
