I'm pretty sure it's supposed to directly compete with the Emil I; same firepower/pen/handling, same speed, same health, somewhat similar turret armor. Looking at it like that, it's maybe just a slightly worse emil. You're giving up a lot of hull armor, gundep, and agility for a better turret on flat ground, slightly better aimtime, and usable VR.

The elephant in the room is the improved autoloader mechanic though. I don't know how good it will be in practice. If you can reliably proc the reload reductions with it, it could make a huge difference. It starts looking more like a 53TP at that point.

The really annoying thing about the armour profile which you can test for yourself on tanks.gg is that the spaced armour hides the edges of the internal plates giving you no visual cues on which part to shoot and which parts to avoid.

Nuts, it looks really sexy, and the new line seems like it will be fun/interesting too...looks like I may be throwing some money at WG again in the near future...

You se comrade, it is balanced by poor radio range because it is unable to tell other tanks about what horrors it has unleashed upon the other team.
