Paris. Never got any enjoyment playing it. It seemed to suck regardless of what tank I was in so it's been blocked since the option became available.

Minsk. It is like airfield with concrete fenceposts everywhere to eat extra shots. I blocked it the first day map bans came out and have not looked back once.

I'm gonna echo what Ezz said and say Paris. Unless you're playing a heavy that can cornerpeek you're fucked, every other tank gets sucky passive positions so you p much have to rely on the south to win/lose in order to do anything

 

Whenever I get the extra map ban (i don't usually have prem) i pick from a mix of airfield, stud, kharkov, or pilsen

Paris because its just ass in every single way, shape, and form whatsoever. Fuck that map.

 

When I have prem my second ban is karkov, because its also just shit and all the changes they made made it worse in its entirety, and also because for some reason Its REALLY FUCKING COMMON for me to get. Fuck that map. 

 

Honourable mentions are pilsen, same deal with its rework. And Empires border, which is just one giant shitty brawl in the south and then the other 2/3s of the map just kinda exist maybe.

Fuck Minsk.

Second option is either ghost town or paris.

 

Sitting behind the cap and being able to shoot shit pressing W is brilliant map design. Well done WG.

Obviously first ban is Paris. 

Second ban I've rotated around a bit to block whatever other map is pissing me off the most at the time. For a while now it has been Ghost Town, but it has also been Minsk, Ensk, Pilsen, Studzianki, Airfield, and Mountain Pass at different times.

Wait Paris?? Unless you are a clicker main, I don't see why you'd ban one of the few maps where arty is literally useless and can't touch you? 

Paris is one of my best performing maps.

My bans are: A - for (Always banned) is Karelia. I just hate how this map plays in standard mode. Other modes it is fine.

B - Usually Fishermans bay, the brawling area is a major YPYL zone, (You Push You Lose). This leaves mid, which is okay most of the time but you get fucked by arty. And the 1 line is usually a YPYL. Other notable mentions that frequent this spot are Airfield (YPYL), Abbey (Shit) and Mannerheim (YPYL).

1) Paris - Just don't enjoy it.  There is the heavy brawl and nothing much left over.
2) Empires Border - The team that sends more North-East generally loses.  

Note: I do have Encounter and Assault on so see some Empires Border.

I hate it because you have a choice of the south, which wins the map and so both teams have to try and fit like 6 tanks each into a brawling area only big enough for maybe 3 on each side. 

the field, which is a wide open, arty filled, you push you lose zone.

and the middle, which is a crossfire death trap.

yeah, if you're a fast heavy and can get into a hulldown area south side you can have a good game. if you're in anything else haha fuck youuuu

Pilsen, Kharkov, and Abbey topped my list before I stopped playing earlier this year. The sense of futility when playing squishy tanks felt greater on those maps than any of the others.

minsk and fish bay. haven't been a fan of minsk since it was introduced, even though it might not be the worst now, and fish bay has been terrible since 1.0.

other opinions: paris is pretty decent, pilsen/studzianki/kharkov are solid ban candidates, if it was easier to reset cap on empire's border then empire's border would be a solid (not great but not terrible) map

Yea but that is what makes it good, there is a lot of HP crammed into a small part of the map where they just get in each others way and make it easy for a competent player to farm the fuck out of them. I don't even use the hulldown spots, I just play off the bridge mostly sidescraping. Field is completely irrelevant, it does not exist as far as I am concerned. Middle is good for playing vision games and grabbing free side shots on clueless heavys south and even more clueless bots in field.

 

Good to see Fishermans Bay being mentioned more, what an abomination.

Pretty much always block Mountain Pass, then either Himmelsdorf if I'm playing light tanks (or cancer for missions) or Airfield.

Used to always be Mountain Pass and Fjords, but I've come to like the heavy lane on Fjords, so now I don't block it for any tank.

I'm surprised Prokhorovka and Malinovka haven't been mentioned

Prok is sooo easy to lose if you don't have camo/vr and arta shuts down mid, hard. The forest side is campy af when it isnt one sided. If you're in a slower/derpier tank it's really hard to farm consistently 

Malinovka combines the cancer of the hulldown meta and camo sniping - the worst of both worlds. arty shits all over the hill and it's often a choice between losing map control and losing your tank. plus, a lot of the time winning the hill isn't even conclusive

Fisherman's Bay is bad but at least it's entertainingly chaotic

Paris is singularly one note but a godsend for marking heaviums

I wouldnt block Fjords but it's absolutely cancer in slow tanks when you lose 1k HP before you even move into position. OTOH the mid is really heavium friendly and you can get the snowball rolling very quickly

Pilsen and Paris for me. Sometimes Erlenberg over Pilsen. Ruinberg is the other map that I absolutely loathe getting in some tanks.

Post-1.0 cities aren't for brawling anymore, they're for rows of heavies to sit hulldown in and vomit HEAT at each other until one side breaks. It's awful. Can't stand them. Paris is absolutely the worst offender because every other tank is useless. Ruinberg is the most busted but at least the field is useful.

my opinion on mainly prok, is that yeah despite the fact you get shit on by arty, its one of the few maps that still actually allows you to move around. you dont just go to one flank, fight the enemies in one corridor, and move to the next. Its one of the few maps where the entire map has some use and all of the flanks are able to move and support each other. 

Mali is kinda similar, but obviously a lot less so.

Its actually a similar story for fishermans bay too, but 1.0 fish bay I absolutely agree is absolutely ass. they ruined it.

The problem is you just have to learn to tolerate about 6 maps because there are only 2 ban slots.

 

Could list all the maps I hate but I'd probably be left with like 3 maps not listed.

+1 for anyone who vetoes Mountain Pass. What an abomination of a map, especially at high tiers where it is impossible from the south spawn to cross the gap next to the dip without dying or losing most of your HP, particularly if driving anything that goes less than 50. But at the same time you feel compelled to try and cross anyway, as the rest of the map is more or less freaking useless. How such a grossly imbalanced map survives in its current form utterly escapes me.

After that for me it is Minsk, as others have noted, all the extra garbage on that map clutters it and makes trying to land shots a nightmare. I also just don't like the layout/design of the map in general.

If I had more exclusions, Paris is kind of up there (very tank situational, some tanks you are locked out and unable to do much of use until the heavy brawl starts to break) but I would probably block Erlenberg next, then Paris, then Pilsen.

Minsk because it sucks all over.

Mines because its way too small for 30 tier 10's in a pub battle.

I feel you on that. I love Paris as a heavy, but TD play is either too boring or awkwardly wiggling fixed guns around building corner and not a lot of camo or soft cover for a fun med game. For me if its only a fun map for 1/4 categories it's ON THE LIST. It would be more fun in mediums if I was better at waiting and holding back the first 5 mins of the game to wait for my play, but for some reason I compulsively get in the face of Type 5s in my Leo in the first 2 mins so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
