Yeah, looks crappy, poor dpm is a decent balance factor, but not with bad accuracy / gun handling...

It's not just bad DPM + gun handling, its those combined with super low HP and unreliable armor (poor staying power for its type), and mobility that is just a bit too slow to play like a heavium. I actually can't tell what's the supposed role of the Rinoceronte - too fragile to be a heavy, too slow to be a heavium, way too poor gun to be an effective support heavy, yet it still feels too inflexible to be an all-rounder. The tank really does feel like a mashup of completely randomized, minmaxed stats.

This kind of rate of fire would be "okay" if the gun had amazing accuracy and gun handling. It already is tied with Super Conqueror for best-in-class accuracy, but then it has the worst bloom of all tier 10 MTs and HTs by a large margin for some crazy reason. A gun with this kind of rate of fire shouldn't also be unreliable in terms of gun performance, that's such a shitty combination.

You know there is going to be a Rhino sitting on the Cliff hill penetrating hull decks with HE.

This tank is so slow that if you allow it up there in the first place you deserve it.

I've witnessed a Maus up there. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Played it on the testserver for 5 games. This thing sucks. I don't even know where to start. I'm not a heavy tank player but it's not fun to play. The mechanic just feels so bad. It would be better without the gimmick almost like a more mobile S.Conq with less armor and a slightly worse handling gun.

Common Test Iteration 2 was just released, with no buffs for the heavies.

Running out of reasons to grind this line.

The tier 7 just looks pathetic.

The tier 8 is just a worse Bisonte (Imagine a tier 8 tech tree tank being worse than the tier 8 prem. That never happens).

The tier 9 looks decent, but I can't test that since you can't get battles in anything but tier 10's on the test server.

The tier 10... was kind of painful to use. Armor is situational (only works when hulldown AND using all of your gun depression. And even then you have the weakspot on top of the gun). Even with a full purple equipment gun-handling setup, the gun was derpy. DPM is horrific, even firing only one shell at a time (If you have to fire more than that, you're screwed). Mobility was sluggish, and you can't run Turbo to help with that without the gun being even more derpy.

The ammo selection is honestly great. But it's totally irrelevant since it takes so long to switch ammo types.

In a slow game in the right situation it could do decent damage. But there are far too many things that can just shut this tank down or prevent it from doing any decent amount of damage. And, even in the perfect game for the Rhinoceronte, there are tons of other tanks that will do so much better.

I can't wait. So excited. More autoloaderreloadersupertrickrobotloaders is just what we needed. Gonna make the game twice as better than before.

No buffs before release for this obvious piece of crap.

Also: -10 gun depression makes my depression go up +420

Maybe it's just me and I'm bad @ theorycrafting, but after watching skill's first video on this tank, the best way I can imagine being used is like a 2-shot autoloader support tank... you peek out, you fire 2 shots in 4 seconds (trading damage if you must) then fall back to reload and go dark.
All 3 shots I would use only for isolated tanks and to confirm a kill.

The flat top of these (at least the t9) makes for painful arty bait. Taking so much damage.

On the other hand 1176 base XP is only a 2nd class. Still mega arty bait... is the tier 10 any better?

It's a sidegrade at best. Not tier-for-tier, actually straight up just sidegrade with tier 10 MM, so in reality it's significantly worse.

Whereas the tier 9 is okay (which isn't that good though as most tier 9 heavies are at least good), the tier 10 is IMO the new contender for the worst tier 10 heavy in the game.

tier 9 can play med positions and overpower most of the stuff it will see, at least that was my experience with turbo

as a heavy it's below average but the clip somewhat salvages the tank's firepower. you are still megafucked if you see 50TPs/E 75s which can ez bully the shit out of every tank in this line tier 10 included.

also, certain tier 8s will give you trouble due to your hull armour being paper on flat ground, but that's not unique to the tier 9.

as a gimped hulldown heavium it actually felt quite pleasant to play but I'd honestly expect it to underperform - it's barely been out for a week and apparently the 3 mark expecteds of this thing have already dipped below the AMX mle 51, at least on RU.

Believe it or not i liked the tier 10. Not because it is a good tank, but because it teaches me patience and discipline, of which I have none. I have learned to hold the shot, because if you unload, you will wait ages to reload again, even a single shell. I have learned to carefully pre-aim, because even though the gun is quite accurate, if you move to aim, you can't hit anything. Don't even try to hit anything unless fully aimed. Chasing EBRs is out of the question, so what needs to be done is to pre-aim and wait for them to drive into the direction of the reticle.

And also I like to see them in opposing team, because most of the pubbies don't have the patience, and most of the time i met this tank, he was already on his last shell, and i know, after he fires, i have like 18 seconds to go to town with him.

The tier 8 was pretty bad for me, the Tier 9 was quite decent, not OP by any means but workable. Then I bought the Rinoceronte...

...

...I've finally run into a tank I rate as worse than no-APCR T110E4.

Similar napkin hull... that occasionally bounces JPEs.

Similar unreliable turret

Similar problematic gun depression (because the turret is so short and hull is so bad)

Similar stupidly tedious reload times

18.9/16.1/14.9 on 490 per shell with a 110% crew is absolutely disgustingly bad when it doesn't have extremely reliable turret armor (see Kran). I know IS-7 nominally does 11 second reloads but everyone puts rammer on that thing.

The gun handling is also horrendous and you have a turret weakspot ABOVE GUN (which Kran does not have) which makes aiming in stupidly dangerous.

The premium round is HEAT with 700s shell velocity. 325 HEAT... while normal is 1500 m/s APCR.

On the plus side, it's squatter and presents a smaller side profile than Kran.

As far as I can tell it's a Kran that has been destroyed in almost every way, so just get a Kran! There are a few possible solutions to this problem:

A) Stock IS-7 With Reserves: 14/12/11 gun reload times is enough of a buff. In actual gameplay IS-7 would still have much better armor and reload in well under 10 seconds.

B) Axis Long 128-ish-mm: 560 per shell as per German TDs, also change to premium ammo with same velocity as normal APCR (so preferably also APCR prem ammo).

C) Just a Nerfed Kran: Remove the weakspot above gun and buff turret face a bit, not as much as Kran's was fictionally buffed (Kran turret face was originally designed as 170mm) but at least to 210mm for SOME premium resistance. There, you now have a generally inferior Kranvagn which happens to be shorter and does a wee bit more per shot. Of course I also advocate for Kran to get nerfed to 3x400 but let's leave that aside for now...
