5 (!?) new maps

Looking at video, the 3e one seems good, 5e might be ok, 4e i gonna be either ok, or total awefull (depending on how good hill and base camp spots are) and first 2 seem mweah (especially the first one look bad, half the map shooting range, so compareble to studzanski)

Yeah, south coast > glacier (or stud, or empires border, or)

And last version of swamp was ok

Stalingrad was my favorite city map, I'd happily take it back in its original state. Maybe we could trade Ensk for it? 

I miss South Coast too.

I want that kinda Trondheim-looking winter half-city map back. Wind-winter-storm-berg-heim? Something. It just needed some gentle rebalancing.

Honestly they need to bring back all the maps they took out during patch 1.0

A lot of you seem to love the Swamp map. I remember that map as heavily imbalanced. Southeast spawn had better access to southwest area of the map (there was a small castle or something, IIRC), and tanks that would go here from the opposite spawn would get slaughtered easily by the south team. And if the enough advantage was made here (which is quite often the case), the match would already be decided. Because of this is hated the map. I am really interested, why all of you like Swamp so much?

 

Windstorm was actually ok-ish map, and Stalingrad I actually believe was a good one. I don't know why people hated on it so much. Out of the city maps, I liked it much more than Ensk or Ruinberg for example, or that abomination called Siegfried Line. 

 

Empire's Border is also imbalanced map, southeastern spawn has better access to the middle area, and when you win the middle, it is easy to move wherever is needed. The only good thing about that map is that clickers are quite limited in their play. 

 

Northwest was one of the maps that I liked, although as I remember, it played the same all the time. Whoever controlled, well, the northwest corner, would win. There was a crawling path on the opposite side, which would make you useless for most of the match. I liked playing the middle, where that little mine/quarry was, in my mediums, but i couldn't get consistent results from there.

 

The new maps, if nothing else, they look balanced. Let's start from there :)

I liked Swamp because you had so many options, I don't really play that much heavies, so castle wasn't really ever relevant early-mid game for me.
I played it mostly from mid, where you could abuse camo and vision to rek enemy team, and it worked from both sides, you also had good arty cover if you pushed over mid.
There was also useful arty cover if you approached from water on both sides.

It was just a really fun map to play.

They are bringing Port back. Wtf. Who wants that shit? Same ppl who want Rhinoceronte? 

 

Someone was right, folks at WG really do write crazy ideas on paper, put them on a board and throw darts to pick which one they want to implement.

Port is an unbalanced shit map, but I did have my best game ever on it.

I had a tendency to last longer in meds on this map. Many of my coolest endgames  were here.
IIRC one of Decha's most epic carries with Fatton was on this map too-believe it is still on youtube. 1vs6 or 1vs7, sick carry.
Very versatile map, especially for meds, albeight with all the new autoloaders, wheelies and shit it will probably play out somewhat different these days

Heavy tanks also had a role. I played a lot of brawls in the castle, and it wasnt that hard to get there. Some timing behind the last rock cover was required from the North spawn. And there was cover if you wanted to stop and turn back.

Also, faster heavy tanks could get below the sniper hill in the middle... 

Options, options, options. There was plenty on this map after rework.

Truly a great map. I dont understand why they removed it.

When we still have Serene Coast. That shit survives patch after patch... And it's only marginally better than Hidden Village. :(
