Mods?

Question

Hello, I've been slowly climbing my WN8. I've used mods for years. But I've pretty much only used Garage mods and only Player stats from XVM. I don't use any other gameplay mods. So I pretty much play vanilla.

I was wondering if there were in game mods that super unicums use/prefer when playing?

As far as I know in the last ~3 years, most unicums have been running mostly vanilla as WG over time added all of the most useful mods to the vanilla game. You'll probably find there are still a number that run mods due to different visual style to suit their preference, or maybe XVM still.

I don't use any myself, but the most common one that isn't in the base game (which I would use if I wasn't so lazy) is the various variations of vehicles spotted, i.e. it shows if an enemy has been spotted or not yet, allowing you to quickly see if there are any bush campers you forgot to take account of.

I haven't used XVM in a long time, seeing the colors and numbers of my team can be dissuading so i haven't reinstalled it since.

A "mandatory" mod I don't play the game without is the default 2x zoom because I use shift to zoom and it's jarring to adjust zoom levels without it. Since I play casemate TDs I also installed a mod that disables the traverse lock so I can look around 360° while in sniper mode and not have my aiming reset by wiggling the tank

Actual optional ones I use are the team HP bars so I can get an idea of how much HP we/the enemy has mid-late game, spotted markers because I don't want to count the dots in my minimap, and a garage armor inspector so I can figure out how my shot got RNG'd to bounce

Huh? i just keep rmb pressed, so my gun is fixed, that way i can look around without moving my gun (not even need to press x to prevent accidental turning)

(and i have zoom in / out also on rmb, so i when i look around, i keep rmb press, and when i double click rmb i zoom out and immidiatly in again, so im mostly still where i aimed at, no need to scroll this way, and faster)

(also by having zoom in / out on rmb, u dont have to scroll all the damm time...)

What do you think about BalCalcMod? It lets you lock your gun elevated for a given distance, and thus actually hit moving/unspotted tanks on top of ridgelines, instead of launching your shell into the orbit. It's been part of Aslain's for ages, now on the official mod portal. This means it's perfectly legal, yet it somehow still makes me feel dirty whenever I think about it.

(Also, hi WoTLabs Forum! I've been lurking around here for years already, before this quality post finally made me actually write something...)
