Today in our Arty Prevents Camping stories:

Marvel as I direct hit a camping Roomba as he is going top speed downhill. Watch in amazement as a 59-16 across the map who is turning at top speed gets balanced and punished for camping!

Im much better at preventing campers

That poor camping IS6... lost all of his crew members and his ammo rack was knocked out (but not destroyed)

M26 Pershing, Airfield, BT8, BiA. @Okeano and I are in dual mediums, and we work really well together. We were not in TS (Okie's too lazy to get his mic) and we barely communicate in-game, but we naturally take up complimentary positions and work enemies out. I really really enjoy running with Okie, as our long history of playing together means we've developed a great rapport.

T54E1, Westfield, BT9, High Caliber and BiA. Another similar game. @CraBeatOff persuaded me to rebuy the 54E1 and I put a lady crew in it. In this match, Okie takes the far side of the northern hills, and I take the near side. I find a WZ-120 who has just fired, and put 2 into him, and then 2 more into the T20 behind him. Then I reload, see the WZ-120 fire a shot, knowing he has a 10 second reload I go over, eat a shot from the T20, punch both of them out, then pull back and put a shot each into the E-75 and T30. Now with 2 clips out I have cleared my flank, dropped about 3K damage, and made myself into a massive threat for the HAVOK platoon. They HAVE to respect a healthy T54E1 with the HP they have, and their bad turret breaks allow Okie to punish them and kill them. From there it is clean-up, though my late game shooting is less effective (on the run against moving targets or at range the E1 isn't quite as effective), but the game was won by the first two clips and Okie seizing the advantage.

sr360, for that super pershing game on Fiery Salient, do you think you would've had as good of a game if there was more than one arty per team? (I'm not trying to be an asshole, serious question). Because if I see prok or any variant of it with arty in my super P I pretty much just give up. Having a game with 3 tier 9s per team and all of them being top tier arty didn't help, but yeah.

Hell no. Prok with several arty (or with an arty targeting you) in a slow tank is a profoundly unfun experience. Having said that, if there were multiple arty I would have played it differently. Unlike, say, an E-100, a Super P actually has some camo value and a decently accurate gun with excellent APCR shell velocity, and so I would have taken it to the hill and tried to stay arty safe.

Superpershing, Fiery Prok, BT8. @Okeano just plays the 1-2 while I play the 6. Luckily their IS-2 hill is spamming HEAT ... at the front of a SpP. Okeano racks up 1500 base while I collect a mere 1k. SpP stronk. Oke should post his perspective.

T25AT, Prok encounter, BT8. I've been enjoying the T25AT, as it has a nice combination of mobility, camo, a punchy gun with decently fast reload, and super gun depression. In this game I go to the hill in Prok, and use bushes and gun depression to minimize exposure to shoot at tanks cresting from the opposite team. A Panther 88 in middle harasses us, but Aga goes over to intercept. He gets YOLO'd but our team finally responds, letting us clean him up. Note how the gun depression allows me to show a heavily sloped frontal plate and very little else.

Object 263, Prok, Tank Sniper. 5K damage, 2.8K spotted, 3K blocked. I choose to go to the 1-2 line because I wasn't comfortable taking a tank that big an arty target to the hill, and the middle would have been just suicide. However, note how aggressive my positions are. When our LT suiscouts the 1-2, I move up far enough to keep the stuff he lights in draw. I then push in myself, trusting in my armor to at least bounce enough to keep me alive. I take a couple of APCR pens from the E3 and the Waffle, but the Waffle dies quickly, and the E3 bounces his follow up shots, allowing me to close him out. The 261 also 0-dmg crits me with AP, and my 1-2 YOLO is successful!

I was spamming SPG & LT games for missions yesterday, didn't get any SPG missions done, but the LT gods smiled upon me. That much closer to the T-55A.

M41 Walker Bulldog, Live Oaks, BT10. I initially take position on the hill overlooking the swamp to make sure their LTs don't sneak through, as well as to safely spot tanks heading city. This is safer than the more aggressive spot in city, though doesn't have nearly as good vision. As mentioned, it has the extra benefit of denying their scouts progress through swamp or via the low ground. Their M41 gets pinned on approach to city, so I move up to try to deal with him... only to see a yummy E3 broadside to me. I dump a full clip into him, then reload, plink out the M46, then finish a second clip into the E3, reload and then go in for clean up. Not much spotting done here, just opportunistic damage dealing.

M41 Walker Bulldog, Swamp, BT10. LT-10.3 done. So, BT-10 battle. I'm a lowly Bulldog with lots of predators around, including a Bat, 2 140s, a 13 90, and no fewer than 3 enemy JgE-100s. Our team has my platoon, though Dual is in arty, and @Trobs in an E-100. And I need to be top XP.

I initially take position on the ridge overlooking swamp. I spot an Indien Panzer in swamp, and a Bulldog on the opposite ridge. I track the bulldog from camo, and he gets obliterated, and then I camo snipe the IP until he withdraws. With the north being sparsely populated and a Bat lurking around, I withdraw to a safer location. I am anticipating the Bat will try to rush our JpE, so I hang around near him hoping to ambush the ambusher... instead I see the cap timer start. Oh no, how will we spot cap? If only we had a light tank around... Oh right. I spot cap from a nice, safe location, spot a JP2 there, and he dies instantly. I then move up, take out a low HP Cent hanging around and then circle away, trying to stay clear of the Bat. The Bat drives erratically, and I'm not sure whether he's coming for me or just running for dear life, but the upshot of it is that I keep him spotted, and our team snipes him out. With only 2 JPEs left, I spot them on the way in, team shoots one, the other takes a long range snapshot at me and misses. Knowing I have time on his reload, I move in, but because of the distance I have to cover, he is able to back into a corner and deny me shots on his rear, so I do the next best thing: permatrack him through the front sprocket allowing the team to farm him and giving me another ~1700 assisted damage for a total of 4,250 assisted.

though Dual is in arty

I'll be honest, I've been having a lot of fun playing arty the past few weeks.  Clicking people and then deriding them in chat is hilarious.  I especially love maps where there are common arty spots - load a gold round and drop your first shot on that spot.  Get a blind kill before the game really starts and then insult the clicker for a while.

Unfortunately I didn't get too many good shots in either of those games, so my insult-to-shell ratio was pretty low.

You did get some good ones in, and you sounded like you're having fun. I said "though dual is in arty" meaning that given the arty XP penalty, and my potential to get spotting damage, it was easier for me to exceed your XP than if you were in, say, an LT or MT.

Stupid bastards kept running away from me in that match. I NEED MY 12K!!

Good for me, allowed me to get LT10.3. So close to 55-A!

Boooo I want mine :(

So do I, but the LT & SPG missions aren't going as fast as I'd like. Dual did help me get some of the LT missions. Time for LT & SPG SPAM!

Type 64, Erlenberg Encounter, BT7. LT-6.3 done. I do the initial run up the east to spot the tanks crossing, and get a little bit of spotting damage as our team doesn't get their guns into play quite fast enough. I do spot their forces moving across though, and I get off as many shots as I can before getting lit. I then fall back to try to get some camo-snipe shots in, but I see the other side in a bit of trouble, so I head back. Unfortunately, While attempting to intercept the Cromwell, I run into him, taking a fair bit of damage. Having finished him off, I move across taking down the Panzer III/IV on overwatch, then moving up to take out arty, spot their base cappers, then circle around to clean up the last remaining arty and tank. 2K done, 1.1K spotted.

Type 64, Highway, BT8. Upon loading in, we note that the enemy team is chock-full of T7 & T8 mediums (aka predators), including Type 59s, which I will struggle to pen even with APCR, and which will just shred me. So, we choose not to go field, a decision vindicated as our LTs going field just get swarmed and shredded by the wolfpack. Instead, I get some nice damage into the T20 on field, and then try to deny position to the meds. Our TDs are holding down cap, and since we had more HTs, city is going well, so we concentrate on making sure the meds don't come around and swarm the TDs. Our presence keeps the meds vision pinned, and we do enough damage to keep them interested, and when they do peek, our Roomba and T28P work them over. A wild Indien Panzer just YOLOs across no-man's land, killing a tank or two, but I punch him down effectively, then cross over to find the last TD and medium for clean up. No real vision work done, some decent amount of damage, but mainly staying alive, occupying key map positions and accruing damage.

M44, Siegfried Line Defense, Top Gun, High Caliber, For Counter-Battery Fire, Ace Tanker. I set up with angles on the north spawn, and as our team + @stagnate lights them, I nuke their arty and their Hellcat in quick succession. The T-34 gets away with a splash, but I work out the VK. As I am looking for angles on their remaining tanks, a wild Cromwell appears and takes out the other arty, and I shotgun him for kill #4. With a handful of tanks alive, our LT spots their last 2 arty for me, and I pick them off for the top gun.

T-54LT, Tundra, BT9. Due to a great spawn, I get to the hill super early, cut off their LT's approach and help shred him as he attempts to challenge hill. From there, we spot and plink out their guys camping TD ridhe, then I cut in behind to clean out some base campers. Fun LT game.

Well this is a first...

A Cromwell gets in behind our lines, I miss my first shot on him, and he puts two into me as I pull back, and I shotgun him as he moves up to kill me. Also not how I nuke a camping Easy 8 moving at top speed, and put HEAT rounds into a T-34-85 and KV-2.

"Rock solid" and "cold blooded". No, I haven't seen them before either.

Super Pershing, Hidden Village. High Caliber, Top Gun, Steel Wall, Ace Tanker. I drive up the valley side, brawl out an IS-6 and IS-3, run into a Roomba with the 150, charge him and kill him, then drive back through the middle and kill their last 3 tanks.

E-50M, Lakeville. Upon load in we see that our heavies are pretty... bad, so we line up for shots down the middle. As those are rather thin, @Okeano and I redeploy to city fairly quickly. However, the enemy team has position in city and are pressing in aggressively. As they push in, we are able to track their E-100 and 215B in really bad positions, then with 3 mediums keep them perma'd and force their other tanks to go around them and take a longer, more exposed approach to shoot at us. I shoot poorly in clean up, but still rack up a fair bit of damage. 3K assisted, most of which is tracking damage.
http://wotreplays.com/site/2102605#lakeville-sr360-e_50_ausf_m

SuperPershing, Abbey, BT8, Steel Wall. I push the 1 line low while @N00BSAIB0T goes up top, but it takes me a little longer than I'd like to clean up the two T-150s there. Then as I turn to help N00B, I get YOLO'd by a 13 75 who doesn't quite manage to clip me out. N00B and co manage to win their side, and the Cent falls back, but is flanked by a SuperP, and from there it is merely clean up.
http://wotreplays.com/site/2102606#abbey-sr360-t26e4_superpershing

WZ-132, Karelia Assault, BT9. As @Shade421 spawned south in his T30, he pushes that lane, while @dualmaster333 gets vision north/middle north. I watch over middle initially to cut off a scout rush, and while a small one materializes, Derps and dual deal with him. Our Lorraine north gets YOLO'd by 2 13 90s, so I relocate there to support Derps, and as we spot the 13 90s elsewhere we push through the tier 7/8s north. Dual and the 13 90s engage in MAD, and I then get behind the Ferdi, then flank around to find arty, then back to DPM down the CDC and then try to distract the T30 so that Derps can finish him, but RNG is not kind to him...
