It doesn't matter because it's still in Open Beta, and will be fixed in the long run.

Been playing it  for quite a while now, and I'm not expecting much to change. The "eternal open beta" shit will get old eventually.

the open beta nonsense is just bullshit.

They just say "it's beta" as a catch-all excuse for ANYTHING that isn't working.

You can spend real money on it people, it isn't beta.

Jesus, did they change the control scheme for planes or something?  Every plane I fly now is as skittish as hell.  I can't hit anything while the plane bounces around like a kite.

My problem is that I'll get 2-3 kills and take a base and notice my team has given up the other bases. I'll move to the other bases to try and take them back but there will be 5 or more enemy tanks camping the base. I may kill a couple of them but I'll usually die since there are too many to take on. It's either much harder to carry a bad team in War Thunder compared to WOT, or I just haven't learned the trick or know the maps well enough yet.

I keep running into the same thing. I'm starting to feel like I'm playing a game in the Battlefield series for how retarded teammates are with ignoring cap points and sniping from spawn.

I don't think there's anything you can do when you get a team of super scrubs but try to rake in some dmg and kills for xp for yourself. Maybe it's just because I'm a tier 1/2 nub but pubbies seem about more retarded in this game than they do in WoT.

Its a new game, the community is going to be complete shit for a long time. What makes it worse is that WT is 4fun, meaning there isn't really any promise the community will get better due to competition.

Wow, is the T-60 total trash or is it just me?  Sluggish, weak armor and a fairly pew-pew gun that takes most of a magazine to get a kill.

Yes it's awful. Go T-50, T-28, ZIS for the capable ruski tanks.

Yea. but you gotta get 6 tanks unlocked. So need to at least grind the T-60 out.

I disagree, based on my experience as a WoT closed beta tester from January 2011. With each patch, I thought that this was as good as it was going to get. We were mostly proven wrong with improved features and fixes over the last three years.

True, I don't  think WT deviate much from the core gameplay that they have now, but I do think they'll fix plenty of minor things over time. They will have to earn their customers or risk losing them back to WoT. They don't have a monopoly so they have a motive to improve their game.

I am just glad that WoT actually has a competitor that will bite them. If you have any idea of the benefits of competition, you'll want to throw your support behind War Thunder. Monopolies are horrible.

If you took advantage of the x2 experience on Armed Forces weekend (17th-18th), and noticed WG's pledge to be more transparent about vehicle balance, you can most likely thank War Thunder as it went Open Beta around the same time. I don't think it was a coincidence that WG dropped a x2 on that weekend (it wasn't even Memorial Day), made a pledge on vehicle balance, AND reversed the nerfs on the Tiger and Hellcat near the same weekend that WT went Open Beta.

That's true, I just unlocked it and the T70 without ever playing them though. No reason to play those shitters when you can use the T-50 for everything.

Ugh, I checked, and somehow my control scheme was changed to "realistic controls" even in AB.  Changed that back to mouse right fast.

Yeah, I'm back to playing the T-50.  Got one-shot two times in a Row by a Pz4 F, though.  :/

Get the HVAP ammo and flank, lul as you take out ~3+ enemies a clip one after the other.

Somebody give me a spoon and scissors so I can stick the spoon in my eyes and cut off my fingers. Damn the pz4 F1 is shite... The F2 looks amazing...

And man can the kv take some pain. 45 degree angle... Oh you damaged my track? Die! Next!

Every time I try to do that I get set on fire...

Being beta doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to spend money on it. Some games even sell access to beta. There is a whole game site called steam that is built around that thing...

Almost every game today is released first as beta. At least online games. Hell dota 2 was in "closed beta" for 2 years. Imho open beta is just the right word for wtgf at this moment. How fast gaijin can push this thing forward I don't know but I wasn't expecting tanks this soon.

Just to be sure wt as a whole is not in open beta isn't it? Just the ground forces?

Its a new game, the community is going to be complete shit for a long time. What makes it worse is that WT is 4fun, meaning there isn't really any promise the community will get better due to competition.

To me it does seem wt rewards active play far more graciously than wot. That's just a feeling. I haven't paid too much attention to the numbers at the end of my games but I have this feeling that after a good game I get to unlock tons of modules on my tanks but after bad round I don't get much at all. But of course in wt the prem account gives bigger bonuses that counter that a bit. But still the worst players should take longer to reach the big tonks than in wot which is bot paradise...

With no need for tank to come back from the game, bots can grind even faster. 1.yolo 2. Back to hangar 3. Take same tank 4. Repeat

I just uninstalled WT. GF were kinda mediocre and not really enjoyable to play while at the same time being very unpolished and and half-finished (more like a late alpha). In the end, I tried but didn't really manage to entertain myself. Some lame remarks from an elitist community ("hurr wottard who cares about stats play4fun") sealed the deal.

Also, I saw someone use the ash black camo ambush in an AB battle yesterday. The guy was on my team and I couldn't believe how stupid the enemy player was. In AB live tanks still have the outline and name over the tank, and it was obvious to see he was still alive even though he wasn't moving. The enemy tank just looked at him for a while and then drove past him. Once the enemy had his back turned the guy in the black camo tank open fired.

I noticed the players have very poor situational awareness in AB, despite the presence of nametags. Probably because unlike WoT, terrain can hide nametags and the minimap is more subtle.

At least you don't have to deal with the toxic bullshit of stats worship in WT yet, a good thing imo.

At least WG was/is honest. WoT was in CBT for well over a year and had a month of OBT. Then it officially released and they never used the "it's a beta" excuse to ignore issues, while that is a staple of the WT development.

Not seeing it, not expecting it.  I've seen too many online games come and go to think this one is going to be any different.

Getting REAL tired of the Russian 57mm and 85mm guns.  Basically a  death no matter where they happen to lazily point their barrel fire.

The low tier 45mm is also rather nasty.  While it not only has fairly decent shell qualities, it's got a damn fast RoF that'll eat you alive provided you don't have the armor to resist it.  Another reason why the T-70 is my waifu.

You're in for a big dissapointment, yeah the gun is fine. But anyone sneezes around you and you blow up. The Pz III L is muuch better (but you have to know where to aim, unlike the magical russian guns).

Ugh.   I just bought the F1 and was about to ask if there's any reason to actually drive the thing.  It's got the same gun as the Pz4C with a bit more armor and top speed.

I'm mostly concentrating on the medium and heavy lines, like I do in WoT; I haven't played much in the way of TDs at all except a bit of the first StuG, which I really didn't like.

The first StuG was Jesus, never had much time to mess with the Ausf. F (why in the world do they not have the G in this game?). It's pretty durable, plus it packs a pretty good punch. Only thing I'd want from it would be a turret (which is the F1, but that has a higher BR and it's a lot taller).

The late model Panzer IIIs are also equally good and those who don't know the weakspots of other tanks to aim at are simply unworthy of the awesomeness of the two tanks. I don't like that that line leads to the Tiger I though, I'd have to grind through the Panzer IVs to get the better of the tier 3s.

My grind is pretty much me spamming T-34 Obr. 1941s and T-70s in AB while unlocking all of the medium and light tanks. I'll get heavies like the KV-1 ZiS-5 if I need more stuff to unlock and they aren't bad.

And before I pass out for the night, I don't see the point in the T-80. For the cost of and extra .6 BR and an inferior turret, you gain a meager 2° of gun depression and 10mm of side armor. Even then, it really doesn't have any notable advantages over the T-50, which shares a 2.3 BR.
