Dlur 2,350 Share Posted October 16, 2013 So, I picked up my E3 last week and have just started the process of getting comfortable with the tank. It's a beast and I'm so thankful that the speed is better than the T95! Let's have a look at the armor profile: Gotta Protect them sides: So in reviewing the armor you need to protect your lower front plate while keeping your front forward. The side armor isn't amazing so you can't really use a deep angle. There are a couple of tiny weak spots available frontally if the LFP is hidden, but they are quite small and difficult to hit. The 155mm gun is pretty good and it loads APCR as its premium ammo which favors the current game mechanics and a rate of fire of 3.28 rounds per minute. The alpha and penetration are high enough to be serviceable against nearly any opponent. AP APCR HE 850hp 850hp 1100hp 295pen 375pen 90pen Need to get some more time in this tank so I can start to enjoy it as much as I do my Object 268. Even though it's significantly faster than the T95, at 24km/h it's taking me a bit to get used to compared to my other Tier 10 TDs (268 and 155) because it cannot flex as well. Initial map positioning is quite different than a camo TD and once you commit to a flank you're sorta stuck there. Will be on the lookout for good replays that demonstrate strong initial map positioning in this tank. Upper plate pened reliably by 375 pen apcr from closer distance and 400+ pen heat from any distance. Inner gun mantlet pened by 300+ pen. While OP against regular ammo, against TD goldspam its just hopeless. This are training room tests, not BS made up claims. Link to post Share on other sites

If I run into an E3 myself or even think I'm going to run into one I automatically switch to premium ammo. It's still some of the strongest frontal armor in the game no matter how you look at it. Dlur 2,350 Author Share Posted October 16, 2013 Most of the time when I get penned it's in the spots marked A1 or on the LFG towards the sides (not in the center) if you look at the first diagram. I think I've only been penned at A5 once and all signs point to it being a lucky shot instead of a well aimed shot from an accurate gun. Link to post Share on other sites

Worstpoaster_na 690 Share Posted October 16, 2013 Actually for maxi-pad it's bat+e3+57. 2 bad the e3 is only there to sit afk distracting the enemy while the 57 farms everything. The e3 really excels in carrying uncarriable games. Once it was elhalluf versus 2 purple platoons and our team was entirely red. So I pretty much sat at the back of base, as the 2 purple platoons just gave up on trying 2 pen me. A hulldown e3 is a bitch to deal with, especially if he has 300+m distance to coverhimself with. While my platoon just fast capped in t62+bat while everyone was distracted heuheuehue 200 dmg fast cap bat wins. Completely worth How my e3 is setup atm Really thinking about super heavy spall, as he from tier 10 tds still do 400dmg. Link to post Share on other sites

Dlur 2,350 Author Share Posted October 16, 2013 Foch 155 has larger and easier to pen weak spots frontally, absolutely no side armor, HEAT for a premium round, and a french gun with french gun handling. Don't get me wrong, I love the Foch 155 as well, but I'm having fun playing the E3 also. Object 268 is still my favorite Tier 10 TD, but I also don't have an E4 yet either.
