I am quickly developing affection for this tank.  750 alpha, with a turret?  At tier 8?  Yes, please.  Join the circle jerk and lob arcing wads of death at the pubbies.

I shall begin with this fancy little ~7200 damage match:

Too poor and unwilling to spend that much gold on XP conversions.

Can't watch the replay but i'm curious about the gun, does it have enough pen on AP to be usefull or it's HEAT shell dependent?

And is it as mobile as it looks like?

Straight line speed is acceptable.  Hits 30 reliably, 35 or so on flat runs.  Turns great.  It's quite light, allowing me to get into some nice places.  The turret allows me to fully utilize those positions.

The pen is fine for side shots, soft heavies/TDs/meds, etc.  Tough 9s (E-75, ST-I, Tort) won't be penned from the front.  Same with 10s.  I'm running 19/10/1, and only use HEAT when I'm sure I'll have a frontal shot on a heavy.  In the match I posted, I didn't fire any heat at all, but all of my targets were tier 8.

Slowly grinding my way up this line, on the marker 38t. Just hope WG doesn't nerf it by the time I get there.

Im not sure yet what cannon should i use, cause i tried the 15cm and didnt had much sucess so now im opting for the 128 cause it is way better for sniping and sniping is the best way to go since once you´re lit with that tank everyone will target you and due to its paper armor and slow reverse speed you will most probably die.

I am liking it so far, but i cant say im having sucess with it.. still gotta learn how to play it.

For the ones I played so far, 38t is great, tier 5 box is goddang TERRIBLE. No camo, no armor, no speed, no pen... bad tank.

Nashorn is beautiful so far. Still have a 90% crew, but very nice tank. A little slow to accelerate, but nice camo, beautiful viewrange for tier 6, and nice gun (also it comes elited if you played german heavies), radio, engine and gun. All you have to spend XP for is tracks. Loving this one, and will probably enjoy tiers 7-10 also it seems. :)

Who needs pen with a 150mm gun? Shoot HE into tier 6 and farm tiers of rage.

I had considered using the 128 at times.  The 150 certainly has its drawbacks.  I am, however, used to the long reload style of play from my time in the E-100, ISU, 704, etc.  In most cases, I favor alpha over DPM.  Alpha usually gives you a better chance of exploiting enemy mistakes.  Finally, if you're getting spotted, and don't have a retreat route planned, you're doing something wrong :)

Of course, considering my win rate in this thus far, maybe I'm doing something wrong.  The lack of armor really hurts the carry potential, given the speed at which teams have been melting lately.

Its a horrible horrible turd, but i cant agree with lack of speed and pen, 194mm pen on tier 5 is more than some tier 8 tanks have, and it can easily reach 40ish+...

I meant with the stock gun, heheh.

16k XP to grind the last gun, and unlocking Nashorn is about  22k? Forget that gun... :)

I should be here in a day or two (30k exp to go) and although I'll eventually mount the 150 on this tank I don't feel like I need to be concerned about grinding it out with the stock 128.  If this tank lives up to my expectations I'll probably be keeping this tank long term even after I unlock the 9.  Need to grind up a fresh crew in my Hetzer though....or maybe start another german medium crew since there are so many crew training options there (I think I have 4 german medium premium tanks).

The 128 looks solid, and I know of people who prefer it over the 150.  Certainly not a bad stock gun.

I've been employing Keweian tactics, and begging for meat shields.  WR has skyrocketed since.  Won over 80% yesterday.

Yeah, I feel like for any of these TDs your platoon composition is more important than ever and even then you're still somewhat dependent upon your team not completely collapsing within the first 2 minutes of the match...which unfortunately it seems teams love to do lately.

An often overlooked aspect is how much gun choice affects mobility..

128mm (HP/T)

207 / 2.1 / 21.24 (4.640)

207 / 1.1 / 21.24 (8.859)

207 / 0.9 / 21.24 (10.828)

150mm (HP/T)

207 / 2.1 / 19.07 (5.168)

207 / 1.1 / 19.07 (9.867)

207 / 0.9 / 19.07 (12.060)

Those who favor the 128mm also choose to play an armorless tank 10% slower..

Saw ISG using this Waffletrain super effectively in tournament just now and I am sold. The grind starts tomorrow.

I bought this last night.  Need tracks and gun yet.  Played 2 games in it and had abysmal results.  I'd been playing all night on the more aggressive end of my spectrum though so going into tank after doing that was an exercise in "Why exactly did I push up this far in this fucking thing?"  Hope to play a few games in it solo today before landings start so I can get a feel for it and then hopefully grind it out.  So far my impression is that this may not be a keeper tank though, but then again I'm definitely not comfortable with the tank yet.

Cutrently 50k xo from RheinmB. Guessing most ppl use 128 but I really wanna try 150 with HEAT and derp HE. Anyone tried that? Also wondering if tank survives better with good camo/ bad armor compared to JP2.

Played a few games in this thing solo last night.  Had one good game and numerous absolutely horrible games.  After CW was done got invited to a team battle.  Found that the best way to grind this thing is to play it in 7/42 with a team organized around having TDs.  10/10 would do again.

Also, unlikely to consider this tank to be a keeper.  I'm actually having second thoughts on whether I even want to continue grinding this line.

Nashorn.

You people must think I'm crazy, but I doubt I could stand this tank. Looks as if it's only aspect to survivability is camo, and firing a 150mm with a muzzlebrake would ruin that.Have fun with your waffletractors, I'll be waiting with HE rounds.
