Showcase of MM is fine, Arty is balanced and the map team are gud

We could have a  competition to see who can  (honestly) screenshot the last remaining 404 sig occurring in the wild - and take gentlemens bets on when that will be, and who it will be.

A somewhat reliable look at gold usage by server...

Using the vbaddict 'shots received w/out damage' data for tiers 8-10. Comparing 1st and 10th place by server. The lower the figure we can infer the more gold rounds being used. Of course it could also be that the players are better / know weak spots / have better aim bots etc.. But let's go with gold round usage as a starter...

All servers: 58.31% - 48.53%

EU: 59.24% - 50.67%

NA: 57.95% - 48.09%

RU: 59.45% - 49.10%

And no great surprise...

SEA: 57.44% - 47.25%.

Gold use on SEA already seems excessive to me. Anything with 340 HEAT pen is going to have 340 pen at least half the time, anything with 326 pen APCR will have 326 pen practically all the time, everything that has HESH or 1400 damage gold shells will be spamming those. In fact, if nothing else, I'd suspect that gold usage at tier 10 would be at least 60% if not in the low 70s.

Try poli and fox. And poli probably best in the Fb group. I've not played it.

LUL even Nutkase joining on warframe

Just concentrate on farming warframes/weapons first, the wiki is a good source. Plenty of people ingame who will join you for farming certain parts etc, then rank up your mods so you become stronger. The rest isn't really important now.

Needed a new grinding game that didn't trigger me, and after Blizzard butchered Blizzcon I jumped into Warframe.

Good thing I still had my account I made 5 years back to hold my name, also the bonus of getting all the twitch prime loot :serb:

Not a strong correlation there because you have not conclusively eliminated the other possibilities.

Hence the conclusion.

Is it because of the sunken cost fallacy that caused you to take drastic action?

Wot being a grindy game where you have to put a lot of time and effort in to get to the upper tiers, you feel you need to put more in to make it feel worth while? Especially when the goal posts keep changing.

No, the game simply wasn't fun for me anymore: I can take losing streaks and shit teams - but only to a point; and playing in 8's and continually facing 10's get tedious very quickly; not to mention all the agro that goes with such a situation.

RE the sunk cost fallacy - it'd be interesting to know how much influence that was having on the player-base.  I was alway conscious of how much time and effort I had put in (and cash) but I don't think that it was a major factor for me - at least not consciously - in terms of a reason to keep playing.  I was looking for something like WOT to really get my teeth into - a long-term sustained hobby/interest, so yes there was an "investment/reward" aspect to it but the reward was simply enjoyment and stimulation.  I have always been well aware of my limitations (or current plateau) as a player and tried to keep my expectations fairly low... but it appears that low wasn't low enough.

The new MM tweaks have made it a lot more bearable. Not seeing anywhere near as many tier 10 games in an eight on the ANZ, and almost always top in a tier 8 on HK.

Limited sample size of course, but I think there's a positive MM change at the moment. Suggest not deleting the account unless it's too late.

Like space wolf said.

Would you consider cancelling the deletion, uninstalling tanks and focusing on the things you need to in real life for a while? Go back to the game when it does not stress you out?

I know it can be easier said than done.

Played 18 Tier 8 battles last night - saw Tens twice AND I was in a platoon. Says a it all really!

Adrian I'd cancel it and just leave it on a holiday. Tanks does seem to be getting better.

Plus we all have tilt. I've been (stupidly) playing on HK wit hthe increased lag because I've been too stubborn to play on ANZ. With the new MM changes, ANZ is actually pretty good to play on.

Keep the account, just go on holiday.

Eh, I can see the appeal in deleting the account. While the option to play is there, it's always going to be a nagging thing in the back of your mind that maybe it'll be better this time. When the account is gone there's no chance to fall back, so less pressure.

Nagging in the back of your mind?

It's a game?

It's not like we are talking about a life changing decision where you have to worry to much about consequences.

like, should i get back with my missus or should I quit my job and so on.

Quite simple no? do I feel like playing, if so, then play, if not, then don't play :notlikethis:

Anyway, each to their own I guess.

Otto's on to it - I know from personal experience that going cold turkey is an approach that works for me.  It may not be obvious from your interaction with me online, but as people who know me well will attest, I am a pretty patient and accommodating guy - getting to the stage where I cut something off at the knees does not happen quickly or by accident.

It's also a protest aimed at WG: there are consequences.  You provide a service to your customers; we are not your fucking staff.  So they **finally** improved the MM - lets assume they hadn't done it, how long would you have waited?

Not sure why you would delete an account you spent that much time on.
Seems a bit drama queen to me but hey :doge:

First off Saff - I think you're cool.  I still can remember the vid you posted in the WZ-132 taking out the Batchat on Redshire - absolutely awesome gameplay.  That said,  you may want to refer to Kersh's reference to the sunk cost fallacy.

Also, with respect to drama - remind us how many pieces of computing equipment have you destroyed due to WoT-rage?  Which leads me to...

So is Rugby.  Did you know (and this is backed by documented by research) that when the All Blacks lose a match there is an increase in domestic violence?  And of course it'd be a mistake to assume that's only applicable to rugby fans.  Games may occur in a sandbox but the impacts they have extend beyond that.  I have definitely had situations where my in-game experience had out-of game impacts: mainly being grumpy with people who didn't deserve it, a lack of motivation to do other things I had been all psyched do to before I hit battle, or the time I wasted trying to get just one good game so I could finish the session on something resembling a positive note.

Judging something differently because "it is a game" would appear to be using logic to justify something that perhaps should not be justified.

So for me, having WG finally trip my boundaries is probably a good and healthy thing.  Set some boundaries and live by them; don't be one of those men of straw bending in a gentle wind.
